      I already explained that in this video ua-cam.com/video/5BYqeyildk0/v-deo.html and among the comments. In short: Needles are covered with essential oil which prevents evaporation. With touching the needles with our dry hands we clear the oil and the needles dry out in matter od minutes. And that is important just with spruces!

    Amazing tree. Lovely spruces, how much sun hours and shade hours do you give them in one full 24h period? Can fresh buds dry in too hot weather if you leave them in the sun?

      So, I give them about 3-4 hrs of sun per day, the rest is shadow. The spruces don't like hot sun, in the nature they usually grow on the north side of the mountains. If you put them on the hot sun, they became yellowish and they can even dry out and die. I am talking about European spruce, Picea abies.
