Hey there! Wanted to try something out and give a little more detailed review than the usual, what do you think? Speak up, you know how I hate the mumbling! 👀
I think the reason Eugene cuts her hair before she heals him is because Raps promised Gothel that if she let her heal him, she'd go with her. So he didn't let her heal him because Rapunzel ALWAYS keeps her promises. Even if he would've cut her hair after she healed him, she might have still gone with Gothel. So he'd rather die than give Rapunzel any reason to stay with Mother Gothel.
Well actually Gothel would still die immediately as Pascal would probably still trip her Eugene probably thought Gothel would harm Rapunzel or still pull her along with her until she died so just took the risk. Also he literally had only a few minutes to love so he probably didn't even have time to think about what to do
@@georgeofhamilton well- *spoilers for the series btw* So there was this huge event that happened in the series, where the king and queen are missing, there's a gigantic blizzard that's going on and Rapunzel is left in charge as queen. She and a friend made a promise earlier in the episode, and when he came running to Rapunzel asking for help, she didn't do it. Because there was already so many things that's been going on so she just couldn't help him right now. Their promise was that Rapunzel will always be there for him, and she broke it unfortunately :(
The reason why villains like Mother Gothel and Judge Claude Frollo are more terrifying than most other villains is because they're realistic villains. They're just terrible people. They represent abusive parents, corrupt politicians, and entitled people in general. Scary.
In the original story, Frollo wasn't a judge, he was the priest. That movie took a lot of risks, but i don't think they could've gotten away with a corrupt church, which us probably why they made him a judge instead.
@@ToastyNoneofyourbusiness It's funny because watching the movie *I thought* he was a priest!! It took me UA-cam comments like these to realize:"Oh...he was a judge?🤨And he _wasn't_ a priest?🤨REALLY???!!!😱But his very song is about him begging the Virgin Mary to make his sinful lust for Esmeralda to go away!!!!!😵"Seriously...I don't care what the dialouges say...he IS a priest in the cartoon too!!ù____U
You literally missed the entire point of him cutting Rapunzel's hair. Rapunzel has spent her entire life with a woman who only loves Rapunzel for her magical hair. Mother Gothel calls her "flower" or something like that, a nick name for the flower that gave Rapunzel's hair its magic. Gothel sees no value in Rapunzel other than her hair. Eugene however was willing to die to save her. He didn't see her value in her hair. He didn't want to risk Rapunzel healing him, and then being pulled away before he could cut her hair to save HER. He didn't care about saving her hair so he could be healed. He cared about her and only her. There was a risk he would take if he allowed her to heal him first that he wouldn't get to save her. In this scene we see Rapunzel finally found someone who loves her and values her for who she is (and not her hair) and who didn't want to risk her being held captive any longer.
Also notice how whenever Mother Gothel says she loves Rapunzel she always touches Rapunzel’s hair. Eugene pushes Rapunzel’s hair away from her face when he talks to her.
Rapunzel's hair is always cut off in every version of the story, its just usually the witch who does it. Disney just chooses to have the guy do it in a beautifully romantic and selfless act.
@@karenhall4645 Exactly, it's a selfless act. Something Rapunzel hadn't experienced. I was responding to the video where he criticized Eugene for not healing himself first before cutting her hair. He missed the point entirely of that scene. He's not thinking selflessly as Eugene was.
Also major props to this movie for being one of the only Disney movies where the stakes can actually get so high that one of our main characters can get _FRIGGIN STABBED_ and die from it. We legit see the blood from Eugene's wound seeping through his shirt.. Though why they didn't put a little bit on the knife is beyond me. Like if you're gonna go for that kind of danger, GO for it. Lol.
The reason why is actually really simple, and really fascinating at the same time; the messed up rating system! If they showed blood on the knife, this movie would've been slapped with a PG-13 rating
I thought Gothel was an awesome skilled assassin, but it turns out that if they DID put blood on the knife, just a teeny bit.. It would've put Tangled from a PG movie to a PG-13 movie so you wouldn't have been able to see it. Still gets me every time and I think Eugene BARELY manages to not scream! Like, come on! He wasn't even expecting that sneak attack! Although, I could never seem to tell if Rapunzel was telling him to watch out, like literally saying it under her gag, but I could clearly tell she was horrifying screaming his name trying to get to him. I think so anyway. Why him getting stabbed and dying isn't like on like a Disney's most scariest and saddest moments I'll never know. I deliberately scream at Formal every time that happens. Don't know about you, but that is probably listed as the darkest moment in the whole movie! Literally and figuratively!
Okay the tear saving Eugene may seem insane at first but it’s not when you consider the original story. Basically in the original, the enchantress finds out that Rapunzel was letting the prince in every night so she stayed up and when the prince came and got onto the hair, the enchantress cut it all off. The prince was blinded with thorns and Rapunzel was sent far away. They meet again and when Rapunzel cries, her tears clear the prince’s eyes and they get back together.
@@growingupwithdisney people, children included, watched public executions for fun back then. i think the repunzel story was the least dark thing they had to worry about lol
maybe i've listened to the soundtrack too much, but in my humble opinion, all the songs are absolutely amazing, YES, WHEN WILL MY LIFE BEGIN INCLUDED (it's actually my 2nd favorite right after "i've got a dream")
The songs are not bad, they're great, but the way the songs are fitted into the movie is not smooth. Rapunzels "I-want-song" lacks emotion (just think of Ariel's, or even Quasimodo's).
You should watch Tangled: The Series. It has a really nice art style, stunning animation, some compelling characters and a lot of interesting story plots. There are many flaws and it has quite a few fillers but it is pretty fun and enjoyable. You don't need to review it (please do tho) but I think if you like the movie you will at least enjoy the series. Believe me, you won't regret it. It is not even close as good as the actual movie but it's still fine and it answers a lot of questions that weren't answered in the movie.
And I took it personally when you insulted the best Disney tv series ever. But really, compared to other Disney tv series sequel shows, I think Tangled the series won
I'd argue that soem of it is absolutely AMAZING (especially the songs), but it takes a while to get good, and Season 3 kinda varies between quality (great songs, not-so-great villain arc)
@@grace19005 yeah some moments indeed are better than the movie, however, in my opinion the movie has a pretty consistent quality while the series with its many fillers, plot holes and kind of weird arcs obviously has quite a few weak points. But I respect your opinion since I myself like the show more than the movie but didn't want to create controversy or sound attacking in means that it absolutely needs to be watched under any circumstances
It was never really explained in the movie but my personal headcanon as to why Gothel hates mumbling is because it makes her think she's getting older and losing her hearing.
Are you joking I was with you until you said the music isn’t as good SERIOUSLY?? the music is fantastic! Where will my life begin is fuckin awesome, as well. Believe me, it’s memorable enough. I’ve watched this film with so many people and we all know the songs by heart. Gothel’s interruption clearly shows her lack of respect for rapunzel and her need to manipulate her and be in control Not a hate comment, just my opinion and I like swearing :)
Okay I gotta fight back with the “When will my life begin” it’s perfectly sets up the narrative and really drives home just how long she’s been up in the tower. It has a beautiful melody and great performance. Maybe it’s not as memorable as say “Let if Go” but I think it’s a superior song. And I KNOW it’s objective but it’s how I feel. I’m also gonna have to fight “Mother know’s best” which is another great one. Big again I understand it’s all subjective. You have redeemed yourself with Maximus and about Flynn and Rapunzel’s relationship.
2:55 this is also a nod to the original fairy tale where rapunzel cried into the prince’s eyes and her tears unblinded the prince and made him see again
Completely agreed that Tangled is the best Disney princess movie to exist. I love the classics but this really did such a great job capturing the adventure and magic of Disney. Frozen cant compare in my opinion.
@@rudegirl2696 I quite like the movie (more than Frozen) and I might say the 1st season at least feels that it is, then slowly gets you to the stuff that catches you off guard...I say it's at least worth a watch for how the characters develop.
@@rudegirl2696I bet to disagree in your opinion, the Tangled The Series is so amazing and exciting, every episodes has so many lessons. It's heartwarming at the same time it's hilarious
If you like Eugene and Rapunzel’s chemistry in the movie, you’ll love the tv show, they give it the time they need to flesh out their relationship, and it becomes a really strong healthy relationship by the end of the series.
My theory as to why Eugene hàd to cut Rapunzel's hair at the ending: it's because Rapunzel promised Gothel that if she could heal Eugene, she would stay. Of course us normal humans wouldn't have an issue breaking a promise like that, but Disney princess Rapunzel would stay true to her word in any scenario. Eugene knows this, and thus has to stop her from healing him.
Does he have 2023 hearing?! He heard the whole deal while bleeding out, and that actually happened, its not a theory. Although, I think its implied that Gothel would've taken her to another tower, or the desert like in the original book or something. Bro knew he had to this, especially he somehow remembered her telling him how to drain all the power😍😍
I cried watching the scene with the King's look of utter despair. That was a man who was about to give up hope of ever seeing his daughter again and I think every father in the movie theater just broke down in tears.
Having mandy moore as the voice of rapunzel is a flawless decision. She has the emotion, the melody, and the expression of her character. She very much can sing too! And very good doing it!
I love the scene with Rapunzel's parents because it also challenges the toxic masculinity aspect of "mEn cAnT CrYy iTs NoTt mAnLy" and how it shows that vulnerability in their relationship and yes i agree WORST SECURITY EVER
About the lanterns landing back in the show they actually find a island full of leaf people where all the lanterns landed and Raps finds out that the lanterns have sweet messages for her which is really sweet
Fun fact: when I saw this movie for the first time, we got to the theater a little late so I missed the beginning and therefore missed the fact that Gothel wasn’t Rapunzel’s real mother. Full immersion.
You once she found her real parents: “H-hey… why are the queen and king kidnapping her…? But her and Eugene are ok with it? What? But Gothel is her real mom? Ugh this movie is so confusing…
Her tears heal Eugene because in the original fairytale, her tears heal his gouged out eyes or blindness or something I can't remember. So Disney didn't just make it up. But pretty much everything else you say in this video I agree with! It's my favorite Disney movie for sure. Except about Mother Gothels reprise, that song still slaps just saying.
tbh "Tangled: The series" has honestly exceeded my expectations as someone who Tangled was her childhood and knew practically anything that is to know about the movie. The show is already finished so you dont have to worry about not getting the entire story in one sitting. It has loveable characters, truly fantastic songs(some even better than in the movie in my opinion) and truly a worthy conclusion to this amazing movie and the Tangled franchise as a whole!
although i disagree on the songs (i personally think they’re all incredible) i completely agree with this review and it was super well done!! i’m sure you’ve already got this comment PLENTY of times but i assure you the series is INCREDIBLE, and as someone who appreciates the movie so much i was very satisfied with the series. yes, it has its flaws, and i am incredibly biased, but for a show that was originally aired on disney junior, it is just a generally enjoyable show, and it honestly makes for a much better sequel to the movie than a cinematic one ever could. the episodic format truly gives you time to sit with the characters and understand them. almost all of the cast from the movie returned for the series, the humor is just as on point as it was in the film, and the series introduces a lot of new characters and dynamics that are just as memorable. this show is an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. eugene and rapunzel also have one of the healthiest relationships ive ever seen in a tv show, and they’re absolutely adorable overall, the show does just generally fill in a lot of the movie’s plotholes, and i feel like if you enjoy the movie its a good watch even if it doesn’t end up on your top ten list. i mean for the record i’ve hardly seen anyone who REGRETTED watching this show so i think that’s a pretty good sign (FUCK king frederic btw. all my homies hate king frederic)
Tangled is probably my favorite Disney film of all time. It's just such an engaging yet completely satisfying film. I love the main girl, the main boy, and the animal sidekicks, the songs, and the messages, not to mention it's absolutely hilarious. I never grew up watching Disney princess films since I didn't think I would like them, but watched Tangled because it was never marketed as a Disney princess film, it was marketed as a modern adventure. Even that titled "Tangled" felt too tongue and cheek to be a princess film. And the marketing worked because it got a boy like me to sit and watch it with no assumptions or preconceptions. Even years later after I've seen the other princess films, I still think Tangled is different since it just has a different vibe and romance isn't the main aspect. Tangled was just so daring and easily sits as one of my favorite films of all time. I also think it set the tone and vibe that all the succeeding Disney films (including mega-hits like Frozen and Encanto) have followed. Disney entered into another renaissance of animation and it was all thanks to Tangled.
Mother knows best is also awesome! I’d definitely say it’s catchy and not boring at all, I’d say it’s more interesting than be prepared. Now I love the lion king but I think that’s one of the least interesting songs of the movie. Mother knows best really shows us how much she’ll exaggerate and bring out these horrible situations that would rarely happen. The song is to set us up with all of rapunzels fears and anxieties and shows the power dynamic between the two. Gothel literally controls the light, forcing her to sit in the dark… it shows her need for control of rapunzel in my opinion
@@alexp.d3689 Mother Gothel is a literal narcissist because she is obsessed with her own beauty and thrives off of compliments from other people. They are abusive and horrible people. A narcissist will put you down to make themselves feel better, just like Gothel does to Rapunzel. Part of how narcissists tear people down is gaslighting them, they use that type of physiological manipulation to control people and lower their self esteem so they are dependent on the narcissist. Mother Gothel does exactly that by telling Rapunzel she is too dumb and naive to live on her own, without her.
I love the fact that in the opening skit they were discusing about how they used the whole flower just for their queen and that they didn't share it with the people in their kingdom. This thing is always stuck in my head whenever I watch the movie🤣
I feel like gothel just doesnt know about birthdays. “I distinctly remember, your birthday was last year”. I think it was so not on her radar that it was an oversight in the end. She is hundreds of years old now, birthdays would become very irrelevant and foreign to her, so her “child” having the same birthday as the lost princess was meaningless and she didn’t see the connection. She also probably just had no idea about the lanterns at all. Would have been nice if there was at least a line about that though
The craziest thing I learned about this movie was that Mandy Moore (Rapunzel) and Zach Levi (Eugene) were NOT IN THE SAME RECORDING ROOM for their entire speaking lines but only for I See The Light!!!! If that's not an example of great voice acting, I don't know what is!
I aggre, Tangled is the best princess movie so far. also The music in the Kingdom dance scene is amazing, it fills me with indescribably positive emotions + makes me want to drop everything and dance
Rapunzel was always my favourite fairytale as a child, and Tangled is easily the best Disney princess movie that should have come out in 1996 when I wasn't too old to see it in theaters without seeming creepy 😭
The tear drop healing Eugene was actually from the original rapunzel fairytale of the prince being blinded by brambles and rapunzel cries into his eyes to restore his vision
i love this video a LOT but there is one thing i wanna say, the king didn't just use the flower on his wife he used it on his unborn baby as well and honestly if i was him my main focus would also be my unborn baby and sick wife not the many healthy citizens around me. literally the only thing that irked me ajskhs
Tangled also stars Zachary Levi who is an absolute legend so it's was already a win in my book (Also I used to have a toy lantern that would play "I see the light." And let me tell you I used that thing until it broke)
Other people have pointed this out, but Eugene cut her hair before she could heal him because he didn’t want to risk it. It was the perfect opportunity to cut her hair to save her, and if he had waited, he might have lost that chance.
If you do plan on watching the spinoff series for Rapunzel, I wouldn't go in with big expectations. It's still good though, it just has a lot of noticable flaws, and I was kind of disappointed at the finale. Also just so you know, Eugune's role as a major character gets stolen by Rapunzel's lady in waiting 😂
Hi I'm not sure if this is canon but its canon to me, I'd notice the lantern that floats to Rapunzel [21:32] is probably the lantern that the king and queen we're holding. the lanterns look the same [20:42] , and the king and queen we're the first ones the lift the lantern in the sky so it would makes sense for it to lose air before the others. but this is only a theory of mine😁
I watched the series, and to add onto your thing about giving Rapunzel a fake birthday, apparently "Rapunzel" was Rapunzel's birth name, so she didn't even give her a fake name
Yeah Fr why didn’t mother Gothel give Rapunzel a fake name and a fake birthday because people in the kingdom would know her name and will be searching for her
I don't know why but after all this time I wonder how much of a curl Rapunzel's hair would've realistically gotten after all that hair chopped off. Like, my hair was to my bottom before I got it cut to my shoulders and it got wavy for a month or two 'cause of like the weight taken off or something like that. IMAGINE RAPUNZEL'S HAIR
Yup, Tangled was and still is my favourite princess, the movie was good, the show was really well done imo (the art styles really suit the tones of the movie and show respectively) , and it just seems like the most real love story, not love at first sight, but getting closer to each other through shared experiences and eventually opening up about their individual past experiences.😊
Dude, I'm telling you, I've never laughed out loud during a movie review until now! Tangled is my all-time favorite Disney princess and Disney movie ever, and you made me love it even more! (And I agree with you that I had the biggest crush on Eugene and you on Rapunzel--we both had GREAT taste)
SUPERB songs! 'Mother Knows Best': fab gaslight, tone & texture wheedling. 'I Have a Dream': biker bar poetry w/ British Music Hall, expert blend. 'Seen the Light': the apotheosis of loving pun use!

10:02 i honestly think it wasnt as good as it could have been because she hadnt even come to terms of how badly she wanted to see the lights and didnt even know if gothel would stop her or not yet. If she sang after gothel said no, she would have had more of a rebellious big number than just “its boring in here i wonder if i could see the lights on my birthday”
Finally, someone talks about Tangled! It’s one of my favorite movies, one of the reasons being when I was a child I would grab a scarf and tie it around my hair and run around acting like I was her, I had a crush on Eugene/Flynn 😭🖐. I loved tangled but in fact I really didn’t like the series, but recently I watched it and I loved it, I loved it but some scenes just lasted to long like ⚠️warning: spoilers ahead⚠️ I hate how Cassandra’s villain arc went on for so long, and when they finally got her back you ask? SHE LEFT- like after all that fighting for her back she just leaves- 😭😭 I honestly just wanted to leave the show because she just brings up the same thing about Gothel choosing Rapunzel instead of her own child, Cassandra. But I do love Varian’s villain arc because he had every right to be angry even though Rapunzel had her kingdom, Varian is about 14 years old so since he’s basically just turned a teenager he has every right to act like this. And plus the animators knew that they could’t keep this up so they ended it, but the last thing I love is the other people didn’t forgive him at first and that he had to prove himself instead them just being like “Yeah, you kidnapped out queen, threatened you princess, help the people take over, but we forgive you~ hugggg~~”⚠️⚠️ OK I’m done- this took so long- 😭
I think Cass was taking in all the grief from her mother abandoning her and taking it out on her best friend and then the kingdom, so her eventually snapping out of it and forgiven by Rapunzel, who never blamed her by the way, was well deserved
I still think since my childhood it's the best Disney movie. Plot, characters, developing healthy relationship, many quite mature threads and ALSO music is amazing. In Tangled the series their relationship is beautifuly developed even more and also has great plot which create a perfect wholeness with a movie and a short movie. The bad things only are trailers they are tacky and not encouraging I really like your reviews you do it in such funny way 😄 btw I had a crush on Eugene, so they create very atractive characters as well xD
My only real problem with Tangled is that while it has *some* bangers, yeah, most of the songs are really lack luster, especially by Disney standards. But hey, the Series gives us a whole soundtrack of bangers so I guess I'll let it slide-
The way I legitimately thought you were joking for 2 min straight when you said that the songs were the weakness of the movieeeeee. WHAAAAT I love the songs hahahahah. I really enjoyed the video though. And of course, it is a fact, Tangled is the best Disney Princess movie.
I think you should do a commentary on “Barbie as Rapunzel” 😂😂😂 It is a great movie but didn’t the townsfolk notice that Rapunzel looked a lot like “the lost princess “? . They would have brought her to the king and queen, she remembers that she’s the lost princess and Gothel’s plan would be ruined
honestly i didnt think when will my life begin was forgettable. i think it was meant to be a bit monotonous to really drive home the fact that shes stuck with the same routine yk? ive had abusive parents that didnt really let me do anything except for school and in the pandemic i was stuck w them so as an abusive parent haver i can say it really encapsulates what you feel like not realizing youre in an abusive situation like that. i actually used to listen to this song on repeat thinking like "haha i wonder why i relate to this so hard" before i realized that it was not normal to live like that. it really does feel like your life hasnt even begun because you just feel like you belong to someone else. idk if i had moer time i could give a better analysis i have many thoughts about this song but its late and im tired LOL but yea i think rapunzels relationship w her mom was done perfectly and this song does a good job of establishing whats to come
This video could've been called, 'How Tangled is better than Frozen', or, 'How Tangled has the WORST security in any movie EVER'. I stumbled across this video and I absolutely LOVE it.
To answer your question, yes, yes you are going to get hate from gothel fans, her song isn't really that bad, I kinda like it and it's personally one of my favorite in the movie
one small thing that i feel like most people don't realize- mother gothel is sort of an anti-semitic caricature (not done purposely by the directors! it's just a deeply-engrained stereotypical thing in fairytales, so no hate to the animatos/directors, bc i'm quite positive they didn't know). but the hooked nose and dark curly hair hair are pretty typical of anti-semitic imagery being used for villains. along with being selfish/manipulative. kidnapping a blonde hair child to perform magic is a little too close to blood libel. i love tangled, it's my favourite movie and i am very sure the directors did NOT do this intentionally.
"SHIT CONFIRMED BY THE CREATORS OUTSIDE DOESN'T COUNT EITHER ... IF ITS NOT ESTABLISHED IN THE MOVIE THEN ITS NOT ESTABLISHED IN THE MOVIE" YES THIS THANK YOU
6:01 I’d like to point out that she TRIED to just take a lock of hair and leave the baby just so she can live her life like she used to after the guards stole her flower before coming to the only conclusion of kidnapping the baby. It was kinda her only option besides dying of old age, I don’t blame her
The tangled the series I think is one the best of movies into show. I mean it’s starts off slow. But by the second season starts good and gets better as it goes on. Definitely worth a watch.

I loved the original story
Why are these stories so dark…how could people back then enjoy them that much
The TV series revealed she’s the avatar of the Sun Drop.
@@growingupwithdisney I think things were kind of bleak then , considering the other issues that were going on then. Things are kind of rosy now.
Agreed! Can’t believe he thinks they’re weak 😭 mother knows best and wwmlb get stuck in my head all the time
@@cryingwatercolours same, i sing wwmlb every time i clean my house :D
YES! I kinda felt offended when he said that :') I've listened to this soundtrack on loop so many times, the songs are so good!
Agreed!!
It is not even close as good as the actual movie but it's still fine and it answers a lot of questions that weren't answered in the movie.
yes i totally agree! But they should watch Tangled Before Ever After to understand whats going on
And I took it personally when you insulted the best Disney tv series ever. But really, compared to other Disney tv series sequel shows, I think Tangled the series won
I'd argue that soem of it is absolutely AMAZING (especially the songs), but it takes a while to get good, and Season 3 kinda varies between quality (great songs, not-so-great villain arc)
"It's not even close to being as good as the actual movie" oh I completely disagree. The highest points of the show definitely surpass the movie.
That's actually a good point there!
Are you joking
I was with you until you said the music isn’t as good
SERIOUSLY?? the music is fantastic! Where will my life begin is fuckin awesome, as well. Believe me, it’s memorable enough. I’ve watched this film with so many people and we all know the songs by heart. Gothel’s interruption clearly shows her lack of respect for rapunzel and her need to manipulate her and be in control
Not a hate comment, just my opinion and I like swearing :)
I agree ^^ no problem with the music!
i LOVE when will my life begin!! it’s so catchy and sets up rapunzel’s character perfectly
i have a dream and mother knows best are some of the BESTTT songs in a Disney movie as well, i unironically listen to them often
The music is top tier
Yess the music are amazing is just her solo is not dramatic as the other princess, i wish it is more grand but yes i still love the song so so much
Okay I gotta fight back with the “When will my life begin” it’s perfectly sets up the narrative and really drives home just how long she’s been up in the tower.
@@lrsb1678 no she dose not
Completely agreed that Tangled is the best Disney princess movie to exist. I love the classics but this really did such a great job capturing the adventure and magic of Disney. Frozen cant compare in my opinion.
Ikrrr For me TANGLED will be the best forever . This movie is underrated .
I would say brave is by a mile but thats just me.
My personal favorite is mulan but I can 100% see why everyone loves it
The only reason frozen got popular was the damn song just let it go already lol
The story this is based off is messed up man. JUST MESSED UP.
THE MELTDOWN WHEN FLYNN CUT THE HAIR I'M WHEEZING
Gothel's? Or yours?😂😂😂
Ooooooooh, wait! HIS meltdown!
I'd HIGHLY recommend the TV series as it explains alot of things, including Eugene's life and the history of the Sundrop flower
And how mother gothel knew to sing to a flower she randomly found one day and knew she'd grow young again
As a big tangled fan..nah the series doesn't give the same vibes as the movie and the jokes are not funny and overused so not for me!
@@rudegirl2696 I quite like the movie (more than Frozen) and I might say the 1st season at least feels that it is, then slowly gets you to the stuff that catches you off guard...I say it's at least worth a watch for how the characters develop.
@@rudegirl2696 The show gets way better at the end of season 1 and Eugene is still as funny as always.
@@rudegirl2696I bet to disagree in your opinion, the Tangled The Series is so amazing and exciting, every episodes has so many lessons. It's heartwarming at the same time it's hilarious
Personally, I love how you praise AND criticize your favorite Disney Princess movie. And you do it so hilariously 😂 Your videos are *chef's kiss* 💋🤌
If you like Eugene and Rapunzel’s chemistry in the movie, you’ll love the tv show, they give it the time they need to flesh out their relationship, and it becomes a really strong healthy relationship by the end of the series.
Except when she mocked him for being a former theif in "Flynnposter." That was kinda toxic
@Alice Duren True, but nobody's perfect, the relationship is still good overall imo
They're probably the only modern Disney princess couple that had the perfect chance to grow their relationship through 3 sequels!
I think she was trying to make a horrible joke sound funny. She wasn't being mean or toxic
I get shivers whenever I hear “I see the light”
I love the scene with Rapunzel's parents because it also challenges the toxic masculinity aspect of "mEn cAnT CrYy iTs NoTt mAnLy" and how it shows that vulnerability in their relationship
and yes i agree WORST SECURITY EVER
Did you finally know when Rapunzel figured it out?
This is one of my favorite animated movies. I am glad you are talking about it. Your videos are always so funny and engaging
Me waiting for Pinocchio a true story: 💀
hmmm 🤔 👀
tbh "Tangled: The series" has honestly exceeded my expectations as someone who Tangled was her childhood and knew practically anything that is to know about the movie. The show is already finished so you dont have to worry about not getting the entire story in one sitting. It has loveable characters, truly fantastic songs(some even better than in the movie in my opinion) and truly a worthy conclusion to this amazing movie and the Tangled franchise as a whole!
12:26 "How is that even possible? The lever went up!"
You forget, mother Gothel is British.
19:15 "You hear that? Sounds like a Disney villain singing a reprise" I CAN'T 😭😭
although i disagree on the songs (i personally think they’re all incredible) i completely agree with this review and it was super well done!! i’m sure you’ve already got this comment PLENTY of times but i assure you the series is INCREDIBLE, and as someone who appreciates the movie so much i was very satisfied with the series.
yes, it has its flaws, and i am incredibly biased, but for a show that was originally aired on disney junior, it is just a generally enjoyable show, and it honestly makes for a much better sequel to the movie than a cinematic one ever could. the episodic format truly gives you time to sit with the characters and understand them.
almost all of the cast from the movie returned for the series, the humor is just as on point as it was in the film, and the series introduces a lot of new characters and dynamics that are just as memorable. this show is an emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible. eugene and rapunzel also have one of the healthiest relationships ive ever seen in a tv show, and they’re absolutely adorable
overall, the show does just generally fill in a lot of the movie’s plotholes, and i feel like if you enjoy the movie its a good watch even if it doesn’t end up on your top ten list. i mean for the record i’ve hardly seen anyone who REGRETTED watching this show so i think that’s a pretty good sign
(FUCK king frederic btw. all my homies hate king frederic)
Exactly THIS. Mother Knows Best is like the perfect song for a narcissistic 'mother' like Gothel.
@@AuraKumo104 She is more like a gaslighting parent ,but anyway ...
''Sir, this is a jollibee" absolutely killed me.
Ah yes, Tangled... What a gem✨
Omg I cried laughing when you reacted to her hair being cut lmao I literally did the same thing when I first saw the movie 😂😂😂
I aggre, Tangled is the best princess movie so far.
also
The music in the Kingdom dance scene is amazing, it fills me with indescribably positive emotions + makes me want to drop everything and dance
Rapunzel was always my favourite fairytale as a child, and Tangled is easily the best Disney princess movie that should have come out in 1996 when I wasn't too old to see it in theaters without seeming creepy 😭
Creepy? If you mean the themes, I agree with that, but if you're talking about yourself, don't say that! Nobody's ever creepy for a movie
The tear drop healing Eugene was actually from the original rapunzel fairytale of the prince being blinded by brambles and rapunzel cries into his eyes to restore his vision
i love this video a LOT but there is one thing i wanna say, the king didn't just use the flower on his wife he used it on his unborn baby as well and honestly if i was him my main focus would also be my unborn baby and sick wife not the many healthy citizens around me. literally the only thing that irked me ajskhs
im starting a petition for beanie’s next vid to be a review of the Barbie Rapunzel movie 😤😤😤
Tangled also stars Zachary Levi who is an absolute legend so it's was already a win in my book
(Also I used to have a toy lantern that would play "I see the light." And let me tell you I used that thing until it broke)
Is it a spin-off tho? Compared to other Disney spin-offs this is actually still a pretty neat series
I'm just gonna pretend living my life like the spinoff doesn't exist
@@mohammedismail-kn5xv I'm pretty sure its more of a sequel since it ties in before tangled forever after
@@mohammedismail-kn5xv No it's not a spin off, it's actually a canon sequel with the same voice actors.
Hi I'm not sure if this is canon but its canon to me,
I'd notice the lantern that floats to Rapunzel [21:32] is probably the lantern that the king and queen we're holding.
the lanterns look the same [20:42] , and the king and queen we're the first ones the lift the lantern in the sky so it would makes sense for it to lose air before the others.
but this is only a theory of mine😁
The opening skit is REALLY good.
You only have like 10 videos but his channel is amazing
Finally…some delicious food, fellow Tangled stan. 🙏🏽
2:11 Yep def agree
idk but Tangled is just different yknow? The story is great, the songs and the characters. Just amazing
"Did I mumble mother" is one of Disney's coldest lines of all time
I feel like i'm the only person in this world that actually loves and jams out to most of the songs from this movie.

Gosh- I l o v e your videos I swear- the effort you put into them- the entertainment. EVERYTHING. They just brighten up my day. Thank you for all the work
10:02 i honestly think it wasnt as good as it could have been because she hadnt even come to terms of how badly she wanted to see the lights and didnt even know if gothel would stop her or not yet.
And plus the animators knew that they could’t keep this up so they ended it, but the last thing I love is the other people didn’t forgive him at first and that he had to prove himself instead them just being like “Yeah, you kidnapped out queen, threatened you princess, help the people take over, but we forgive you~ hugggg~~”⚠️⚠️
OK I’m done- this took so long- 😭
I think Cass was taking in all the grief from her mother abandoning her and taking it out on her best friend and then the kingdom, so her eventually snapping out of it and forgiven by Rapunzel, who never blamed her by the way, was well deserved
Tangled was so good it got its own cartoon show.
The bad things only are trailers they are tacky and not encouraging
I really like your reviews you do it in such funny way 😄
btw I had a crush on Eugene, so they create very atractive characters as well xD
I literally forgot how funny Tangled was.
I think you should do a commentary on “Barbie as Rapunzel” 😂😂😂
It is a great movie but didn’t the townsfolk notice that Rapunzel looked a lot like “the lost princess “? . They would have brought her to the king and queen, she remembers that she’s the lost princess and Gothel’s plan would be ruined
Tangled is so good, I love eugine's character so much
Omg the humour in this video had me rolling on the floor especially 26:19 I couldn’t stop laughing for like five minutes

every time he said that the music wasn't that good my heart broke a little
I would love to see you do Hercules 🥺✨
honestly i didnt think when will my life begin was forgettable. i think it was meant to be a bit monotonous to really drive home the fact that shes stuck with the same routine yk? ive had abusive parents that didnt really let me do anything except for school and in the pandemic i was stuck w them so as an abusive parent haver i can say it really encapsulates what you feel like not realizing youre in an abusive situation like that. i actually used to listen to this song on repeat thinking like "haha i wonder why i relate to this so hard" before i realized that it was not normal to live like that. it really does feel like your life hasnt even begun because you just feel like you belong to someone else. idk if i had moer time i could give a better analysis i have many thoughts about this song but its late and im tired LOL but yea i think rapunzels relationship w her mom was done perfectly and this song does a good job of establishing whats to come
This video could've been called, 'How Tangled is better than Frozen', or, 'How Tangled has the WORST security in any movie EVER'.

6:01 I’d like to point out that she TRIED to just take a lock of hair and leave the baby just so she can live her life like she used to after the guards stole her flower before coming to the only conclusion of kidnapping the baby.
It was kinda her only option besides dying of old age, I don’t blame her
