Really good update. I have the sound module for the signal box and that is a really good one. Like the derelict brick wall looks different to the norm. Thanks for sharing Andy
I may get the signal box sound module. I am really impressed with the station one. My daughter bought it for me for a Christmas present last Christmas. Cheers Richard
Nice little update surprise Richard! 😃👍 really like those weeds you’ve got, I’ll make sure Graham knows you’ve given him a shout out for the shop , he’ll really appreciate it 😊
I've Always been a huge fan of your layout since you basically first started it. You bring a huge sense of atmosphere to it. The 70s and 80s are a bit before my time as I'm a 90s lad. My layout is based on late 90s to present day roughly. Keep up the good work. Just a quick thought. Where your railway bridge is by the pub, maybe put some reflective yellow and black warning panels where the height restriction sign (just a suggestion) In my hometown of worcester there is a place just like that on your layout. Pub close to the embankment and a small tunnel at one side before the station. That's my favourite part of your layout. All the best, Ryan.
Thanks Ryan. Appreciate your kind comments. It’s strange that we all seem to stick to certain time period. My late father got me into railways when I was a child in the 70’s then got into them more in the late 1970’s early 80’s.I do like some of the newer locos that are out. Like to see a photo of that scene you mentioned in Worcester. Cheers Richard
@CHESEABUN absolutely. Although I know about the vintage railways, I just prefer the locos and railways that I remember. Love your cavalex 56, it's my favourite loco. Either in fastline freight or colas livery. Will show a photo of that scene soon. Take care Richard. Ryan.
Hi Richard, just stumbled across this video, great layout modelled on the similar era to my own.I thought you had some great ideas and have given me a few aswell,I will sub ,keep up the great modelling.
COUPLINGS - TOY TRAIN SET OR REAL LIFE TYPE ??? Great layout, but with your level of detail you really need to consider getting rid of the childish "toy train set" couplings on your rolling stock !!! The simplest option are of course Kadee's which are basically a model of the British Buckeye type as found on coaching stock, most EMU's, a few locos, and certain wagons, in your BR Blue era. Kadee is a US manufacturer as almost all American trains use the "Buckeye" or Knuckle as its called in the States type coupling. Kadee make four plug in versions to fit the Standard European NEM coupling pocket (Cat Nos: 17,18,19 & 20) Where 17 has the shortest shank & 20 the longest. They are fully automatic. Uncoupling can be achieved remotely using the various Kadee split pole magnets, which include an under track type as well as a "retro fit" type installed between the rails. It is also highly advisable to a obtain the Kadee height gauging tool, which clips on any bit of track temporarily so you can check the height of any coupling in its vehicle. The height is critical to the magnetic uncoupling system. Kadee's should be available from all decent model shops, certainly Gaugemaster (next to Ford station) stock them !!! Happy Modelling 😝
Hi, A friend of mine likes the KD coupling. I do have some magnetic couplings on the grampus wagons. It is something I may consider changing the NEM couplings in the future. Looks like Bachmann are bringing Automatic couplings in their new class 31. Cheers Richard
I thought so. Yes I have Bang Road on CD. Love it! There is an album I am very impressed with some certain tracks. “ Pylon” by Killing Joke. Just got this. How did I miss this one!? Written before Covid. Very prophetic! Love the tracks “ Euphoria “ “ War on Freedom” “ New Cold War” “ Big Buzz” “ New Jerusalem”. Sad to hear the passing of their Guitarist Geordie. Love that style of scratchy rhythmic power chord guitar work. Some of it is simple but it really works for me. Been dipping in and out of Killing Joke over the decades.
Hello there. First time I've watched one of your videos and was impressed with what I saw. I was wondering if you might be able to help. Right at the end of your video you see a station footbridge. I was just wondering if you could advise who made it and also how wide it is? Thanks Tim
Hi Tim, Thanks for watching. The footbridge is a concrete footbridge Bachmann scenecraft used to make. It spans two tracks. You might find it on E bay. They will probably re issue it in the future at some stage. Cheers Richard
Great update! I'm a massive kettle head, but your layout has definitely given me some inspiration for my own!
Thank you for the kind comments and thanks for watching.
Richard

Thanks Darrell mate.
nice addition to scenics with the poles and wire
Thanks Dave, The poles are a really good model. You can get variations of them. So are prototypical UK. Some look too American.
Cheers Richard
Some great modelling skills, well done
Thank you. And thank you for watching.

Brilliant! New subscriber here too. Great explanation of details and techniques, Richard. Fantastic 🎉
Is this the Mr Pritchard from the excellent post punk band the Lengthmen? You disappeared off the radar for a while. Everything OK mate?
The very same, sir! All is well, I have given social media a rest for a bit, have you got a copy of our 2022 CD, 'Bang Road!' ??

Some really good modelling on this layout. Videoing needs a bit more planning and be slower paced (for me anyway!)
