Well...that's an idea...(puts thinking cap on...)...there's a lot of games out there with a lot of expansions...(brain winces under the pressure...)...hmmm.
@@SamHealey6 indeed. But if you have a lot of the expansions it’s safe to assume you really enjoy a game. So hopefully that should make things easier. But honestly, top ten lists are always welcome. Would love to see a zombicide big box expansion top ten. There’s a lot you could do with zombicide. Top 10 abominations. Ranking core sets…
Just picked it up Can’t wait to introduce my family to this series I thought maybe these smaller version would be more accessible than the original version Great review
Wonderful to see a board gamer saying they really like Ticket to Ride. I have only played this on the app, but bought all there for it. Now I have Europe and Nordic phtdically, and if new friends like it (fingers crossed), I could easily start collecting physically also.
Ttr was the first game i loved as an "adult. " Sam was among the first content creators who made me love board game media. Awesome to still have both 20 years later!
Another great review in the books! While I don't have as many TTR games as you do, we do have Europe, First Journey, and London. We definitely appreciate the London one for the price, size, and game length. It's a great way to introduce someone to TTR so they can see if the bigger version might be something they enjoy. Also, of the smaller versions you have played how do you rank them? Which is at top for you? I noticed you didn't have New York or Japan; have you played them as well? Lastly, while I understand you are doing things a bit different (Thumb ratings for example) and I appreciate you hitting the high points of things you liked, the overall nicer tone to the review; I was wondering if you could start picking out just 1 thing as a con, whatever the one thing that you most disliked about the game. Maybe call it the games biggest weakness? I think here you kind of mentioned 1 con was short play length can almost feel too short sometimes but it didn't make it to that part of the video. Also, its your channel and you can do anything you want, I'm not trying to control how you do things at all; just from the consumer POV it's nice to know what the biggest issue might be with a game. I look forward to the next review and keep up the great work!
Everything was spot on with me, these are the few games I can get my mum to play as they are easy and fast, she will even play the parent game. The game can go very fast especially if playing with someone who is constantly dropping routes haha, and Inhave suffered from the "crickey its going to end very soon I best hurry up and not lose this contract". Great review.
I really like the mini version of TTR New York. I do somewhat enjoy regular TTR, but find the length a little to long for such light play, thus I also went and bought TTR London. London was almost as good as New York but NY was a smidge better, so I gave it as a gift to my sister.
BTW, after playing the game a couple times, I do find the play time is 15-20 minutes on these. I would say 30 minutes for new play or new players, or younger players.
This is what I like about these smaller versions. They scratch the same itch as their larger counterparts, but with less time sink. And they each have a rather distinct feel, too. That is for watching!
LOL! That is rather ironic, isn’t it? I don’t own the kids version, so I’ve never noticed it. But I did like auto buy the 1910 expansion back in the day to upgrade the mini cards to normal size.
I still like the original "Ticket to Ride" the most. I'm not a fan of the board games that go only 20-30 minutes. They are not worth sitting down and setting up. And playing more than 1-2 rounds of the same overly simplified or downsized game doesn't make up for that.
Nice. I wouldn’t mind seeing you do a ticket to ride video showing all the expansions and possibly ranking them.

I agree. I'd love to see Sam do some ranking videos!
agreed 100%

Great review
@@wosop6667 They definitely are much more accessible!
Great review! I have Nordic Countries and really enjoy playing Ticket to Ride. It was one of the first games in my collection!
Thanks, Donna! Glad you enjoyed it. Nordic is probably the most pretty imo…I really dig the wintery theme it’s wrapped in!
@@SamHealey6 totally agree ...I got it to enjoy during the Christmas holidays! Again so happy your back to board gaming content!!

TTR is a great game! These shorter versions are a must for physical ownership, imo. I’m also really looking forward to the Berlin one!
I love how fast and easy to play the ticket to ride games are.
I like these little games. I own the New York one and it's a fun little 2-player game that can be done in around 30 minutes.

That's awesome to hear, Mike! Thanks for being here!
Have not played the smaller versions yet. We snagged an anniversary edition of the European version and love both the game play and production.
Anniversary editions of games are usually pretty nice…so, I can imagine the draw!

Totally understand where you’re coming from, Eddie! I’ll keep your feedback in kind going forward!
I still have never played any of these "bite-sized" versions. I need to try one of them out. :-)
Indeed you do! They're great for scratching that itch!

Thanks, Kyle!
Which of the small box versions you mentioned play best with 2 players? Or is It more just a matter of which setting you prefer?

I find it funny how the TIcket to Ride kids version have full size cards and the adult versions have the teenie-weenie cards.
LOL! That is rather ironic, isn’t it? I don’t own the kids version, so I’ve never noticed it. But I did like auto buy the 1910 expansion back in the day to upgrade the mini cards to normal size.
I heard Ticket to ride Nordic countries is a good 2 to 3 player version of the game but not cheap. Amsterdam looks like a great alternative.
I own that version, and boy-oh-boy is that board TIGHT!
So far, my favorite is Europe.
That's a good one, for sure!
Please improve audio. The echo effect was not well done and was a bit rattling.
Won’t always be doing effects like that. It was just a thought at the time. Lol!…sorry.

Thanks for offering counterpoint, Joe! Glad your here!
Set up is very quick for these.
