Nicely done Gunnar and good trick with the off-set if I start missing fish. The only problem with this hook I can see, is that I won't have an excuse to tie more flies, as never lose any in snags ;).
Gunnar... Fantastic channel! Keep up the great work! I just arranged for a packet of each size. Thank you VERY VERY much for helping design this hook. It solves many of the issues I've had with tying on worm hooks! Absolutely awesome! They're going to make GREAT striper... and possibly tarpon flies.
Man, Super stoked for these Thanks GB and Mono for evolving the craft! Mfc has a similar hook, the belly bumper by Kgalloup for his belly bumper fly. If anyone needs a similar design but for trout applications. Similar but not the same. Waaaaay smaller offset and a shorter straight tying section. Man what a great time to be a fly tyer!
Another cool product Gunnar. As soon as I can get my tying stuff unpacked from moving I'll have to get some of those hooks. Keep the good stuff coming.
That’s really awesome Gunnar and Paul M. I have been waiting for a hook series like this. Owner has a longer shank flipping worm hook, but this takes it up multiple notches, is made for the fly tyer and I don’t have to pinch down any barbs. Multiple patterns can sprout from this hook or as you said make established single hook patterns weedless. I am thinking of a popping frog 🐸, a crayfish, a lizard 🦎 and curly tail worm for the bass fly world. Along with many baitfish patterns
Gunnar I can see some variations of rigs for these hooks laying in front of you on the table. I can’t find the video where you told us a little bit about them. I think you were adding/removing hooks and rattles. Could you please remind me which video that was? In the straight mono video you mentioned using them for swim baits which is exactly what I want them for all be it for more of a game changer type fly. I’m curious about where to get those pink stops on the hooks. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Some good engineering there. Suggestion.. can you demonstrate some weed guard options, either mono, or wire types, perhaps in the forthcoming videos, that would be great. Keep up the good work.
hello Gunnar, you are a big inspiration to my fly tying . I make big flies for fishing on pike in the Netherlands. these hooks are the best for making big profile flies for me. I was thinking, is there an app or something for designing flies? like you start with a hook template and build from there. with links to websites for buying materials and/ or links to website where people sell their creations. do you of sonething like this or maybe somebody in chat? I hope you know something or someone who likes a big fly tying community. I am always looking for new designs / materials. tights lines, Alex
What I don´t like with these hooks is that the hook often penetrates the fishes eyes and brainsection, but they offer really big chances in weedy water for pike and muskyflies
Finally a hook for Flytiers...thanks Ahrex. Great video as always Gunnar.
Nice! I've been looking for this hook, smaller sizes #4 are great!!
A real fly hook. This is the one.

Looking forward to the smaller sizes coming out. I can see using them for the white bass flies here in Texas.
The design is amazing. The hook point being higher is very important. Hope Ahrex introduce smaller sizes for Euro perch!
Congrats on the GB hook! Well deserved as well.
Can't wait to try them!!! But can't find anyone selling them :( Also really looking forward to some smaller sizes Thanks Gunnar!!!

Superb informative video, many thanks.
Where the 80 lbs mono video to tie in the material on the Ahrex hooks?
That's an incredible idea!
Smaller sizes are a must please. 1/0 and up
You convinced me to buy a pack of Ahrex PR378 from my local fly shop. I am looking forward to videos of you making the flies using this hook! (^_^)
Are these strong enough for adult tarpon? Juveniles? thanks
Yes, take my money!!!
How can I get a magazine or copy of what you have on your website and merchandise
What size would suggest for Smallmouth Bass? Thanks for sharing your ideas! I just subscribed!
