You're really good at explaining things, and making them easy to understand if you're not normally familiar with the verbiage. Thank you. 🙏🙂

Excellent explanation. As a future ACDF surgery patient this has helped me to understand my CT and MRI images. Thank you and wishing you well.

Hi Dr. Gillard, hope you're well. I am going thorugh your videos again after 1 year lol because they're soo good.
@15:54 - I noticed the image of this patient with a 4 level ACDF. It seems all these cages have completely subsided leaving absolutely no disc height. I'd like to know your thoughts on this. Whether you agree or disagree and how is the patient doing?

I got diagnosed in an MRI with 2 protrusions(C2-C4), 2 bulges(C4-C6) and 1 hernia (C6-C7) and I have zero pain and normal mobility.. surprisingly. The only symptom I got was some light tingling(happened after a massage) in my left thumb and left bicep(consistent with C6 myotome and dermatome). The tingling has subsided in the meantime and now I'm pretty much fine symptomatically. I'm starting to suspect the radiology report was BS

I had an MRI to investigate back pain and was recalled to hospital within 24 hours as a medical emergency, to be told immediately that I was in imminent danger of paralysis, then made to lay on a ward bed for 9 hours during which examinations were made. What bothered me was the discomfort caused by the instruction to lay immobilised on the bed with back pain and of course the level of fear created. Eventually, I could take no more and left the hospital. At home I was able to reduce the pain levels without any medication and now wait for a consultant to review the MRI scans with the hospital observations and notes, but I take some comfort, that much may be seen on an MRI which does not predict pain or symptoms.

Really good video. Received a really bad (simplified) MR result interpretation from my doctor and going back to medical station for another doctor visit. I get the feeling then have to poor knowledge in this area. There is really no point of doing a MR if not the analysis is done. Waste of time an money

Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful. Remember, MRI has a High false positive rate for things that typically cause low back pain (meaning, people without back pain can have these findings). You have to match the MRI findings, with a thorough history of injury and the examination findings to achieve a proper diagnosis.
