I prefer the aural sounds of the Jaco Tribute bass. It just seems so much more expressive. The other two, as they were recorded, sound too muted or muffled. They sounded very good, but too muted. They almost had a synthesizer-bass sound. I'm partial to the more expressive sound of the Fender single coils.
My usual propensity would be to say that I pick the one in the middle. Only, you played three instruments instead of two. You also played them equally well and made them sound equally appealing. I had to look at the screen in order to know you were playing different instruments.
Your playing technique sounds great on all 3. The Gary Willis Signature maybe seems a little warmer and sits back in the mix a little more whereas the Fender and Fodera cut through a little more.
The Fender sounded more ballsy. Also the placement of the pickup on the Ibanez is not Idea. The Monarch was better than the Ibanez, but the Fender wins in my book.
Of those 3? Easily the Ibanez GWB . I have owned a fretless fender jazz but use and prefer an Ibanez SRH500F for the sound , it's more acoustic archtop quality with piezo pickup works better for jazz to my ears.
The Ibanez is nice but the Jaco has more of that classic sound, though I don't think you need that particular model to get it. The Fodera seemed a bit lifeless to me.
I was just going to vote for the Gary Willis before you even started playing the other two, but then the Fender came out and wow....they all sound great , but going to have to go with the Fender
All of them sound great. I personally prefer the Jaco tribute, followed by the Gary Willis, sadly putting the Fodera in last even though it is very beautiful.
Great playing ! I would take the Gary Willis because it is said to be very light… do you know the weight of that bass ? But, since the string spacing is too short, I would go for the Fender one. Is that Tribute model a 60s or 70s pickups spacing ?
Hi Amoud- the GWB 1 is the lightest bass I have…really, the stringspace is short but not problem to play. I don’t no which pickups spacing. For me all the 3 Fretless great. Every bass have something special ✌🏼
Mister Bachman , I have never played a fretless bass but all three of those instruments sounded beautiful especially the " Jaco " Bass. Should there be a fretless in a bassists arsenal ? And if one is a beginner to this type of bass. What model would be a good started fretless ?
Fender Player fretless jazz was my starter bass and I'd say it's a great starting point (internet generally agrees, aside from te usual Fender flame wars).
I play a fretless fender jazz (it was my first bass) but those GWBs just have THE SOUND that's in my head. I have to get one some day.
What beautiful playing. Thank you.
🙏✌️
The Fender just has that incredible mid presence, punchy and articulate, lovely playing too man
🙏✌️
Loved all 3 of them!
They are so different and each one has its character
Great playing!
🙏🤘

Understood cause JB have a focus in superior harmonics, but it is your preferente.
Love GWB that looks like played easily,.. smooth. Still dreaming of this bass
The Fender Jaco sounds very good!
I like the definition of the notes on the fender
1.GWB 2.Jazz 3.Fodera
i like the jazz bass very good
I had a GWB. Although it is composed only of a bridge pickup, it produces a thick sound. I really liked GWB.
The fender bass had the most beautiful tone and the Fedora had more resonance. But all 3 sounded wonderful.
🙏🤘
Gotta say, as much as i love willis, the sound you get out of the fender is my cup of tea!
🙏🤘

Well, its all in the fingers and you sound terrific on all of those basses. Very nice.
🙏👌😁

I liked the Jazz a little more than the GWB1, and the GWB1 a little more than the Fodera. All sounded great, and great playing!
Love the 3 of them: 3 differents type of fretless sounding, smooth, crispy or low "acoustic tone" one...
The Fender sounded more ballsy. Also the placement of the pickup on the Ibanez is not Idea. The Monarch was better than the Ibanez, but the Fender wins in my book.

The Ibanez sounds like a bass. The Fender has the Jaco-esque tone, but that’s something Jaco could make work. Not just anybody.
I like the Fender more than the others.
1. Jazz Bass, 2. Ibanez. The Fedora gets lost in the mix.
Absolutely
GWB than Fodera than Jazz, liked all 3.
The Ibanez is nice but the Jaco has more of that classic sound, though I don't think you need that particular model to get it. The Fodera seemed a bit lifeless to me.
The Fender shine !! the others they follow
for me, it's a really close call between the Jazz and the Monarch.
very nice touch you have :)
🙏🤘
They all sound great with your paying. The Jaco Tribute expectedly nails the classic Jaco growl. The Gary Willis has its own character, as well.
🙏
fodera first. but that ibanez is really special.
Fender ist der Hammer!
I was just going to vote for the Gary Willis before you even started playing the other two, but then the Fender came out and wow....they all sound great , but going to have to go with the Fender
I like the Fender because it is very present.
🙏🤘
All of them sound great. I personally prefer the Jaco tribute, followed by the Gary Willis, sadly putting the Fodera in last even though it is very beautiful.

I have to agree, Fodera sounds very compressed and muddy. GWB sounds great, but Fender has more soul...
I prefer the GWB.
fender is best cut through mix, best mid freq
Great playing !

for me gwb1 , I don't no why. and you ? which one ? very nice playing
for me all 3 basses great- my favourite is the monarch…..
Jaco Tribute🤩😍
Wow I just can't choose one. Great vid, may I ask for the backing track? I'd like to practice on top of it. Thanks in advance.
Backing Track are chords from standard Mona Lisa- 🤘

Sehr schönes Solo übrigens, klasse gespielt! 👍

Fender all the way, great playing

👍👍👏👏
🙏🤘
Definitely prefer the Fender ... hands down
🙏🙏🙏
Elles sonnent toutes très bien mais je préfère le son plus chaud de la Jazzbass 😊
Once again it's Fender for the win.
😮👏👏👏🤟
🙏🙏🙏
the best is the man behind the gun
I personnaly prefer the Jaco Tribute. Great playing by the way. :)
🙏🤘
Monarch all day!
Fodera.

Maybe a sire fretless- this bass is not expensive
Jaco
Willis
Fodera

danke, gute Analyse
Jaco bass sounds the best to me
Jaco!!!!
The Ibanez sounds more Willis like, the Fender more Jaco like.
Fender
the jaco sounds way better..
Fender JBJP. ;)
Hi,what bass effect pedal did you use for bass sound for Fender Jaco please?
Hello- only directly the bass signal and a little bit reverb
Jazz bass more jocb
Jaco wins
Fender-ibanez ...
