Is it really the best to position the outlet so close to the skimmer? Or is it in this video done to make it more practical to connect the pump?

My question as well, but I guess that the outlet is directed to the left, so that water naturally moves around the pool before ending up in the skimmer?

Mannen i videon monterar båda packningarna på utsidan av hålet till utloppet. Borde det inte sitta en packning på insidan och en på utsidan?
