Thanks for the great update on a race that is more exciting than anything the NHRA is turning out. I've been a devoted Drag Racing fan since 1960 and this event is more entertaining because of all the ingenuity and homegrown technology going on with a variety of cars and classes. Thanks again for keeping this longtime drag racing fan entertained.
Agreed! This event feels much more like drag racing at its roots. Some of the cars are running pro mod times- what a terrific turnout of drivers and fans.

nhra cares about parity with its door cars. Jason miller doesn’t. The only reason the imports are running the times that they are, is because he caters the rules to them. If he didnt, only a few would show up.
@@endosrcHey I’m glad they show up if not I wouldn’t see any 1/4 mile racing. That 1/8th Mile shit has ruined a lot of good racing. There’s a lot of racing left after 60 and 660 feet. Them boys have the nerve to take it all the way.
Agreed!! After 63 years as a devoted drag racing fan I find it hard to watch the 1/8th mile racing. I'm sure if I grew up with it and understood all the tuning and chassis work to make the cars run the 1/8th then maybe I could watch it. I'm still trying to understand the 1000' racing that is Funny Car and Top Fuel. However, I've had zero interest in Pro Stock, FC or T/FD since the early 90s with FC and T/FD. As for Pro Stock, I lost all interest in that class once Warren Johnson retired or could no longer land a sponsor worthy of the Johnson name. If you haven't read WJ's book I highly recommend it. I will remain strictly a Stock, Super Stock, Comp and Factory Stock fan with the NHRA. It is closer to the sport I recall from the early 60's. The one commonality remains whoever has the connections with one of the big three, wins. Our sport has always been this way, unfortunately. I keep waiting for the first factory backed electric car that will compete not just be an exhibition car as Ford did with their Mustang which is not something that is competing against like cars. Although, watching 16 Teslas battling out would most likely make me bored. @@wilsonjohn9766

@@User-sz2bg Hell no. The track is barely holding the boost ramp to get him off the line before they even reach the targeted 40psi. Unless they wanna ramp 70psi in towards the 330 there is no way...im with you there.

This stuff is what keeping drag racing alive. Nhra is good for rules, but there races are ok, pros are great because it's so close, but when you have 1000 S/g, s/c thats when you go to the pits, get a hotdogs an coke and take a nap.
do u realize how much downtime there would be between the last alcohol pair and the next nitro pair? That’s why they run them in the first place
Sportsman classes are way closer than the pros. Top sportsman and Top dragster are the best to watch. Running to a dial in the 6.10-7.50. Much more interesting than cars breaking down every pass
NHRA needs to ban throttle stops, there isn't a more bothersome thing than a car fall flat on it's face for a second and then get up and go again, it goes completely against what the idea of stomping the loud pedal and feeling the acceleration. Who really cares about who does the better computer programming of the throttle stops?

Top sportman/dragster don’t run throttle stops. A lot of the sportsman’s classes don’t run them
@@bretthiggins1473 super comp and super gas both run them and have an index that is the limiting factor on expenses, if they were banned the teams wouldn't have to spend the extra money to build a quicker car and then spend even more money to slow it down to the index, all with the end result of those two classes being boring to the spectators and takes driver ability out of the equation and putting the outcome a result of artificial intelligence, I'm in agreement with the original poster, s/c and s/g is time to walk the pits.
It's crazy how much better quality your videos are than 1320. I don't know anything about cameras, but they really need to upgrade their cameras or dial in their settings on something. No reason why they should have such trash quality with their budget. Good stuff and thanks for the videos.

they need to have garret put the steel front end back on and let him back into WvTC. yes the motor can go high 5s, but the body and chassi simply cant no matter if he wants to accept it or not. He needs to build that superbird he was talking about if he wants 5s

I'm not familiar with the class rules. What are those promod rotary cars aloud to weight in at? Imagine they barely weigh 2k lbs without ballast
My guess would be less than 2k with driver and ballast.

I think cleet needs either a full tube chassis on mullet or to revert mullet back to how he was last year and put that smx in a full pro mod camaro chassis and build it to pro boost spec

Holy shit Leroys shute didnt deploy.
Thankfully Leroy literally has worse aero than a brick, so it's not as big of a problem as it otherwise could be. They ran the math, and at 200mph it takes around 740hp just to maintain speed, compared to 430hp for a stock C5.
Edit: just found the clip from Cooper's podcast discussing it, apparently it's 870 horsepower at 200, not 740.

Out of curiosity, I scrolled through 5+ years of "thumbnails" and that was the first time ever a Cleeter car was used. Relax, you just salty. More eyeballs means more money for everyone.
