I've been to Ashkelon, the city you were denied entry into the bars in, several times. They denied you entry based on your appearance (you appeared to be not well dressed, you look like an impoverished indian foreigner). They only allowed you into the dive bar in Tel Aviv since that's the main city and it is more tolerant to tourists.
