In todays version update mindark announced that mobs will now have resistance to certain attack types. When we scanned the mobs at the new Scarab event we could see that they were resistant to impact for a total of 11 points.
If you notice this new system looks just like what we see when we look at armor stats! Armor provides a certain amount of protection against certain attacks and that's what we see with this new mob feature!
I've known this was a hidden game mechanic for about a year now. Mobs have invisible armor. This is why sometimes the mobs dodge/ evade more with one weapon than with another. Now Mindark has come out and admitted it and made it easy for us to know what attacks the creature can resist and to what extent.
This better helps us plan out hunts as we can use weapons that do attacks the mob is NOT resistant to! This will help increase out DPP and help us play smarter; not harder!
So far when I scan creatures on planets other than Calypso I don't see this new information but hopefully it will be system wide very soon. I think this is great! This isn't a new mechanic; we simply couldn't see it before even though we were already dealing with it!
This also helps us have more rounded hunting skills and is one reason I switched to mindforce a while back!
We will see market prices for uber weapons move up and down depending on which mobs are resistant to those weapons damage types. Hopefully mindark will also soon add info that tells us the type of damage the mob does so we can easily match our armor to the mob!
I see people crafting lifescanners as I watch this
Did you notice the new CRT Icon? I think its cool!
btw how to check those defense types in mob?
This was 8 months ago and no new relevant data. No data from MindArk or any collective shared player data
