I am a non believer and it is very funny to read messages like yours… We don’t believe therefore we don’t care and aren’t scared by what you think might punish us for not believing. If Jesus is such a great and loving Entity who decides who deserves eternal life in Paradise, he will know I am a good man who took care of his family. If his sentence is « well, I see you had a very good and honest life, much better than some of my followers BUT, since you didn’t believe in me, just too bad for you », then your Jesus isn’t what you think he is… Have you ever think why God needs soooo badly that you believe in Him ? What is that obligatory rule ? Why exclude 6 billion humans ?
@@robertl.6919 Those who are blind to the wisdom and power of God need a work of the Holy Spirit in their hearts: “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:14). They need to see the message of the cross as a loving invitation from God to walk in newness of life (John 14:6). If they continue in unbelief, labeling the message of the cross as foolishness, the tragic result will be fully experienced condemnation from God (John 3:18). There is only one name whereby they can be saved, and that is the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). There is no one good but good ! @thoughtsallmylife1 Why is it if such importance that humans believe in Jesus ? Whether or not believing doesn't make Jesus more or less the Truth ? If sins are of no importance, it means the pain you might cause to others is less important to God than praising Him ? Why doesn't he need to be praised in the first place ?
Your answers are for the most-part very helpful and informative. Contrary to Milton's words, the damned will NOT rule in Hell but will be eternally alone in anguish. You will NOT party with your friends in Hell. The solution is to look to Jesus but these people will have nothing to do with Him. Over the years, I have come to find that, people generally love the Babe in the manger but they hate the Man on the cross.
Actually this is a lie of modern Christianity that “most” will end up in Hell. This video quotes Luke 16 but doesn’t acknowledge it’s saving power. The man in torment was repentant and the story is told before Jesus died and rose from the grave. We are told in Ephesians and 2 Peter and Matthew 16, that after His death Jesus descended before He ascended (Acts 1). He descended to Hades for 3 days. To do what? Preach to the souls there. To set the captives free. It wouldn’t take 3 days for those who believed and waited for Jesus to accept a him but it would take unbelievers in torment to come to faith. I think that modern Christianity has a lot of things like this so backwards at times that it’s sad to watch. Hell is ready and there will be those who stand before God knowing He’s the creator, the judge, and offers mercy and still reject Him. However this is not most of humanity. Much of humanity worships God as the creator, wants to go to Heaven, tries in their own way to be good. Not all religions can save us only Jesus can but when they stand before Jesus and see He is God many will trust in Him. There will always be those who follow and desire evil but if we look around many people believe in God, want to go to Heaven, and want to be good and not do evil. This is how many will be saved because of these traits. Sadly many religious Christian’s don’t really understand how God saves people. Jesus tells us, you believe in God believe also in me. Yet we see only Peter after 3 years of following Jesus in Matthew 16 who says Jesus is the Son of God. It doesn’t seem to indicate any of the others knew who Jesus was after 3 years of following Him. Yet Christians think that just because they say “believe in Jesus” and people don’t that this is actually rejecting Jesus. It’s not. That’s not how evangelism works. We fear Hell because we don’t understand it and it’s sad to watch so many gripped in fear.

@@filipehenriques8405 yes we are to believe that we can have eternal life with him. We don’t have to, it is a choice. God sets out a way for us to live here in preparation for eternal life. By Living his way we get to enjoy all of the goodness he has to share with us. But don’t expect to enjoy all of what he gives freely to those who reject following him. All good things come from God. Again, you can chose your destiny. If you know his word, you would not see it the way you see it. His love is unconditional to those who chose to follow him. By following him, one gravitates to live his way willingly by choice because our heart changes. It is a process by the way, not an instantaneous change
Here is a similar scenario as to what you are describing. 1. Man commits heinous crimes and is facing life in prison with no parole. 2. Man stands before judge appalled that he would send him to prison since he’s done a few good things before in his life.. feels entitled to have murder and rape and theft and all kinds of cases dropped. 3. Judge says, all you have to do is ask to be forgiven and you will be found not guilty. 4. Man refuses because he clings to his self delusion that he’s a good person despite all the bad and evil crimes and believes that the prison guards will let him go since he’s such a “nice guy” 5. Man is mistaken. 6. Man blames the judge. Lesson? Don’t be a self righteous idiot.
To add to @kyles comment. God has given man free will. God wants everyone to come to have a relationship with Him, He loves mankind so much that He sent His Son Jesus, so that all who comes to Jesus and repents and accepts the free gift of Jesus sacrifice to cleanse us from sin, is saved. If you refuse and say " I want nothing to do with that, I like the life I am living" then God will let you go your own way. Throughout our lives God through His Holy Spirit calls to to repentance, so that we will be with Him . God loves you so much, he won't force you to love Him, he will let you go your own way. If you don't want to be with God after your time here on earth is done, there is only one other place. Have you ever had a love so big for someone, but they constantly rejected you? After a while, you will leave them alone. So as it is with God. God doesn't send unsaved to Hell, they send themselves by rejecting God.

Jesus was three days in the Grave=Pitt= Hell. After his Father races him from the Grave= Pitt= Hell,he needed another 40 days to be accented into heaven! Acts 1:1-3.
From my understanding the lake of fire is called the second death. It doesn’t make sense that their suffering will be eternal. Their suffering is in hell until the final judgment for non believers. Bible also says Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. I could be wrong obviously but that is how I understand the scriptures on this
I have often wondered if it is a metaphor. No doubt it will be awful whatever it is. I think separation from God is the real punishment. God is available to everyone while they are alive, he is present whether they know it or not, and I think they will definitely feel the separation.
Not sure the torment is merely demons poking us with hot BBQ forks for all eternity, but more of an eternal regret for having rejected so great an offer. Perhaps those may well want a second death rather than have to live with the consequences of their sins but not sure justice should grant them that.
I think it burns. Litteraly. Sometimes I felt regret for my sins and it burnt. It was hot and itchy on my back like I had hot water on it. The amount of regret in hell Burn.
Thought eternal punishment meant torment, but it can also mean eternal death, thought smoke of their torment was torture, but they only tormented in presence of Lamb and angels which cannot mean eternal torment.
This video begs the question... What do you say is the all-consuming fire that destroys everything that is perishable with everlasting destruction? The eternal Gospel of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus hinges on that all consuming fire being unleashed, if you will, on the Day of our Lord Jesus when He is revealed to all of Creation in His everlasting glorious splendor and His eternal sons and daughters are made known to all of Creation.
The few that are in the book of life at the Great White Throne of Judgement will probably be the ones to inhabit the new earth and make pilgrimages to the New Jerusalem. However they will be forbidden to live there as that’s for all of the saints that are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

@@TodaysDante I feel like all people are born with an innate sense that there is something MORE. More meaning a CREATOR, someone who instills in us a sense of morality. Right and wrong. The bible teaches we can see the creator (God) by looking at our world. Romans 1:20 is one of my favorite verses: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse”
CHRIST told a tale of the "Rich man and Lazarus". The rich man DIED and awoke in the FLAMES. Christ indicated that it was IMMEDIATE as evidenced by the rich man asking that Lazarus return to life on earth In order to WARN HIS BROTHERS.
Parables in the Bible. Jesus taught a lot in parables. Through parables, Jesus clarified events and behaviors related to people. In the explanation, these parables are fiction, but in experience they are factual. The rich man and Lazarus were fictional illustrations in the depiction of life after death, but what these fictional people experienced after death in this parable was a factual experience related to all people themselves. Which eternal experience would you like to have in the future, that of Lazarus or that of the rich young man? Luke 16:20-31
In this narrative of the gospel, did Lazarus, died and found in paradise, repented of his sins? Also does this means that the poor will qualify for heaven when they die but the rich, not?
The rich man did not find the poor man to be worthy of righteousness, love, mercy. The rich represent those who keep the law of Moses who are full of pride & hate sinners like Lazarus. The poor represent Samaritans, drunkards, tax collectors, gentile sinners (those the Pharisees deemed unworthy of righteousness). Jesus told the Pharisees “I desire mercy not sacrifice” but they refuse to show mercy to guys like Lazarus & deem guys like Lazarus unworthy of the kingdom of God. Jesus is teaching them otherwise in this parable. Showing that God is kind & merciful to the beggars who ask for mercy but resists the self righteous who boast in their riches & works. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Look at the other story Jesus tells about the Pharisee who boasts in himself Vs the tax collector who says “be merciful to me a sinner O God.” Jesus said the tax collector went away justified. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled & those who humble themselves will be exalted. We are saved according to God’s mercy, not according to works of righteousness which we have done (Titus 3:5).
It doesn't address the matter of who deserved it. It challenges the assumption that earthly circumstances have some relation to eternal destinies. However, the conclusion is Jesus drawing attention to believing in Him (see Luke 16:31) as the way to avoid going to hell.
I dont believe people will spend eternity in hell only because the Bible says dont fear man who can destroy the body, but fear God Who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Believers are granted eternal life, non believers are not.
No...because the Hell isn't open yet. Satan and his fallen angels will go first.then at judgment time, even those that are already dead will be judged for their faith or lack of.

My understanding is that Hades simply refers to the "realm of the dead". Both the righteous and unrighteous, after death, are in the realm of the dead. The unrighteous exist in "Tartarus" and the righteous are in "Paradise". Sheol is the Old Testament reference to the the Lake of Fire. The final judgement for the lost happens at the Great White Throne judgement. This judgement occurs after the Millennial Reign (1000 year reign) of Christ on earth.
Hades and Sheol is the same place, the realm of the d ead which were divided in two, believers and unbelievers. After Jesus's sinless d eath, He took the believers with Him. The lake of fire is after the millennium rule of Christ.
@@andrevisser7542 Sheol is an Old Testament term that means a place of burning. Hades simply means the "realm of the dead". You better pray that they don't because the fact remains that even people of religions are going against God by worshipping the book more then God, praising the son more then God, saying that the son saves over God. You better hope that non believers don't go straight to hell, because many have been tricked and brainwashed the wrong way. Hades is the temporary torment of sins before the second death, the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. The lake of fire burns day and night, an eternal death. annihilationism is the wrong way to go about it where the soul is destroyed in the lake of fire. people will be there for eternity.
No one is in heaven or hell. Hades is the realm of the dead. Which is another dimension. Hell is gehenna which is the lake of fire. The saints go into paradise. No one is in heaven who has died.
I often thought about the different between hades and hell. Many christians claim they are the same. But I just realized that hades, he can still see others, talk etc. In hell, it is eternal darkness cut off from everything and everyone.
Well,it says he could see Lazarus on Abraham's bosom over in Paradise,it didn't say he saw anyone else there in hades where he was, apparently he was alone as didn't say he saw anyone else there with him, neither human or demons, being alone would make the torment that much worse.
@@hubertwalters4300 My main point was that in hell there is eternal darkness where you can't see anything. So there is a distinction between hades and hell.
@@hubertwalters4300 Man is a spirit made in the image of God who is a Spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. When Jesus died his body was placed in the tomb. Before the Cross paradise and hell we're in the belly of the earth close together, divided by a great gulf. Jesus went down to paradise and preached the gospel of the kingdom of God to those held there since Adam. Jesus then led them up to heaven where they are now. Since the cross all Christians go immediately to heaven when they die. When Jesus returns to the earth on the last day immediately after the tribulation he will return with all those saints, they will be resurrected into that same kind of body of flesh and bone like Jesus. At that time all the Christians who are alive and remain shall be changed into that same flesh and bone body and be caught up together with them, so shall we ever be with the Lord.
So I'm not disagreeing, just trying to find some understanding. This is a difficult parable. Why did the rich man deserve hell? What was his sin? Not feeding Lazarus? If that's the case that suggests works based salvation which is not the Gospel. What about Lazarus? Did his suffering appease the wrath of God and merit his salvation? If that's the case all we need is suffering not a savior. That story must have another meaning.
We all deserve hell because the requirement to enter heaven is to be without sin and nobody is without sin. It is our default place after the fall of man… so we are all headed to hell until we accept Christ - then we are freed forever.
Had the rich man helped Lazarus monetarily, Lazarus would have gone to hell, as Lazarus has not done anything good during his lifetime. He was born poor and remained poor. Those who are helping the poor are actually stealing the heaven from the poor, as per this parable.
Why do you need to know what the rich man's sin was? If that is necessary for you, then you are making the meaning of the story other than what Jesus meant.
Ok.. Great message except one thing. When you said "The lake of fire was Never intended for man". Its because you have a theology that plays around God never intending for us to sin. Understand that God is ALL KNOWING. for you to say God did anything Unsure of its outcome or intent is to say the opposite of this. Rethink your theology please. Because My God Knows Everything and does not make mistakes or just willy nilly does things only after something is done. Brother, God not only knew we would sin, but knew, made us too be able, and provided us with the means too. It was His Will we did, and for good reason. How else could we know Who He Was without knowing the opposite of who He is. We were made Good, but we cannot even know what Good is unless we know what its not. God is the Pinnacle of Good, Love, LIFE. in order to know what we have, we need to know the opposite. Bad, Hate, Death. to then in faith join to Christ (2 become 1) in faith and face death without fear because God is with you. To rise again as we enter into Christs death and His resurrection. Having now the knowledge return back into Life. If God is Love, and he shows us Love. How could we ever show Him the Same Love back unless we know what Love is? Brother, when you make God "Un-knowing" or lesson Him in any way, I take offence. If your doctrine ever does this, Back up and try again. You have something wrong. Christ was not a second plan that God had to come up with on the fly when we (unknown to Him) sinned.. He was the plan to finish the work. To be who He wanted us to be, we had to face death. This life we live is just a making period. A short blip in time, until Home for all eternity. God created us and rested, Christ in us finishes the work and brings us Home. You no longer have to fear death brother, its all as planned. As we Live we live by faith.

Luke 16:19-31 is a PARABLE. A parable is a figurative story to illustrate a point. Jesus nowhere in this PARABLE states that these passages constitute a doctrinal truth on the afterlife. Do you really think when you die you go to Abraham’s bosom (Israel)? Do you think people will be in Heaven based on whether they had a “good or bad” life (verse 25)? This PARABLE has been used for centuries by the Catholics and Protestants to create a false narrative of the true afterlife. The point of this parable (verse 31) is that even when He (Jesus) rises from the dead, the Pharisees still won’t believe.
It’s funny. Every Christian I know has had a dang good life. Much better than those in jail suffering for murder & theft who never had a father, who’s never been shown love or mercy a day in their life who were lucky to get a can of soup every 24 hours. I guess those murderers are going to heaven & the Christians who were loved & well fed all their life who never suffered in this life will have to suffer in hell for eternity.
Actually the Greek word for flame is a literal fire that burns, and torment is literal pain and suffering. Be careful in interpreting incorrectly! It is for eternity, without end. Choose wisely!
individual people dont choose hell. Adam (our representative) chose hell and everyone gets to inherit the eternal consequences; UNLESS God has Elected you to mercy and salvation. Thats what the Bible teaches.....You Arminians make up your own feel good theology that is NOT in the Bible so that you can cope....ha.....the Arminian has to make up all kinds of nonsense to even explain why words like Predestined; Called; Chosen; Elect; are even in the Bible; If salvation were truly up to individual choice WHY would those words even be necessary? NOONE in their right mind if they understood the Gospel or could actually hear the Gospel would reject a free gift of eternal life. But man is dead in his sins. He can't see it or hear it UNLESS God chooses to regenerate him (cause him to be born again). And God only does that for the Elect.
People don’t choose to go to hell anymore than people choose to go to prison. Yes it’s the consequences of their actions but I don’t think it’s helpful to act like God is respecting one’s choice to go to hell. God is pouring out wrath there, inflicting punishment.
Since the fall of Adam everybody go to satan's place, he got a claim on all of Adam's descendants until Jesus defeated him by His sinless death on the cross. Now we can choose Jesus and get delivered from satan's bondage.

John 19:28-37 KJV [28] After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. [29] Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. [30] When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. [31] The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. [32] Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. [33] But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: [34] but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. [35] And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. [36] For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. [37] And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. Matthew 27:57-66 KJV [57] When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: [58] he went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. [59] And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, [60] and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. [61] And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre. [62] Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, [63] saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. [64] Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. [65] Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. [66] So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. Matthew 28:1-8 KJV [1] In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. [2] And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. [3] His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: [4] and for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. [5] And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. [6] He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. [7] And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. [8] And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. Luke 16:19-31 KJV [19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. [22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. [27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: [28] for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. [13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Matthew 6:15 KJV [15] but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 5:7 KJV [7] Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
In old covenant times everybody went to Hades (the place of the d ead) because of Adam's fall. Satan had a claim on all of Adam's descendants. We see however that those who believed in Yehovah were separated from the unbelievers. This changed after Jesus's sinless death, He went to fetch the believers to be in heaven with Him.

Why not? Have you not believed what you've read in many other texts during your lifetime? Is unbelief really the issue, or is it an unwillingness to acknowledge conviction, repent ,and live according to biblical standards ?
@@mrbigguy6905 Those other things happened in this world. They are mundane assertions, and they're supported by evidence grounded in a sound epistemology. Christianity, however, is asserting metaphysical, supernatural, and soteriological propositions which cannot be corroborated and are unsupported by any evidence. So your claims (the burning hell, eternal punishment) are nothing but religious dogma relying on a book says a thing. No different from a Muslim or a Mormon.
Your assumption is that God hasn't intervened/revealed/spoken to humanity. And if God has not then, it would just be a book and ideas from people which deserve no more respect or appreciation than any other human fabrication. But the Scriptures purport to be God's revelation of God's own self (and especially so in the person of Jesus of Nazareth), if that is so then you very much ought to accept it's revelation as truth and act accordingly. I'm just saying that you are starting with an assumption (God has not spoken) and working from there which would bias/distort your conclusion (there is no reason to believe the Bible).
@@troygreen8959 Since, from a young age, I was raised in a fundamental, independent, Bible-believing Baptist Church, my firm assumption concerning the Bible was that it was the infallible Word of God. This belief was instilled quite early. Later, however, through an A posteriori examination of the relevant texts, it became clear that the Bible was a disparate collection of books all of them exhibiting the marks of a flawed humanity, and exhibiting no sign of divinity. My conclusion was not reached from presuppositional premises; rather, it was from close consideration of the actual words of the Bible. Because I was raised to believe, I certainly was not operating out of any bias against the Bible or its alleged divine origin. In fact quite the contrary.
There’s not a single verse in the Bible that says nonbelievers receive eternal life. Eternal life is God’s gift to believers in Jesus Christ. Nonbelievers are annihilated in Hell in accordance with God’s just judgment. The host of the video presented no scriptural evidence that nonbelievers are punished for eternity.
@@normn5916 All of the deceased will be resurrected. The righteous will be resurrected to eternal life in Christ who said “and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (Jn 11:26 ). Nonbelievers will be raised unto judgment. Since there is no scripture that says nonbelievers receive eternal life, their resurrection ends in the lake of fire. As Jesus said “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Mt 10:28) Now why would Jesus say that if the soul is immortal? Immortality of the soul is conditioned on God gifting it to those who follow Jesus Christ.
The only way a person can go to hell is by committing a grave sin without repentance which destroys charity in the soul of the sinner. To commit such a sin, 3 conditions must exist. 1. Grave matter for example "murder" 2. Full knowledge of the evil of the act. 3. Full consent of the will. This applies to a person who believes or does not believe. Therefore, God only knows if a person is going to hell. The main punishment of hell is the state of self-exclusion from God. Self-exclusion is not the same as unbelief.

@@TimJr.Martin what dont you get about Luke 16:19-31? Its not a Parable. Jesus says, A "Certain" rich man. Not a generic man. The false versions from Wescott and Hort purposely Leave out Certain. Interesting, Why did they do that? As children of the Devil, they wanted people to think it was a Parable so they wouldn't believe in an existing Literal Hell. Mark chapter 9 gives us gruesome details about Maggots that feed on the rotting bodies in Hell. Look up worm in the Greek, its an earthworm or maggot. Also, Jesus gives us further details about Hell concerning pain levels (torments) which is excruciating pain, and remembrance of our life here with regrets, (the rich man wanted his brothers warned so they wouldn't end up there). Technically, Tim is right. But the unsaved go to a place called Hades for now... until the 2nd Coming Judgment. Think of Hades as a temporary Hell. Hades is like the City jail awaiting on being sent to the State penitentiary (Hell) for your life sentence.
Tim, I was thinking the same thing. I thought that they go to a holding place (Hades, Tartarus, Sheol, whatever name...) until the final judgment. They still wind up in hell eventually. But where eternity is concerned, does it matter "when"? Let's just not go there at all.
God isn't a torturer as you choose to go against gods will and there is nothing wrong with punishing those who made that choice especially the people demanding direct proof of god. Since god shouldnt have to nor will prove his existence directly since his creation the earth and every other creation is meant to be the proof of his existence.

They need to see the message of the cross as a loving invitation from God to walk in newness of life (John 14:6). If they continue in unbelief, labeling the message of the cross as foolishness, the tragic result will be fully experienced condemnation from God (John 3:18).

I have often wondered if it is a metaphor. No doubt it will be awful whatever it is. I think separation from God is the real punishment. God is available to everyone while they are alive, he is present whether they know it or not, and I think they will definitely feel the separation.
Not sure the torment is merely demons poking us with hot BBQ forks for all eternity, but more of an eternal regret for having rejected so great an offer.
No the rich man and the Lazarus was not a parable or fictional story... Jesus never used real names in parables.
I believe Sister Faustina, and that every soul will meet their Creator as they die, giving them one last chance to accept or reject their Savior.
The story was told to rebuke people for misunderstanding what is really important. It is not about what works, but what does not work.
It doesn't address the matter of who deserved it. It challenges the assumption that earthly circumstances have some relation to eternal destinies. However, the conclusion is Jesus drawing attention to believing in Him (see Luke 16:31) as the way to avoid going to hell.
Thanks very much. Appreciate the clarity.
I dont believe people will spend eternity in hell only because the Bible says dont fear man who can destroy the body, but fear God Who can destroy both body and soul in hell. Believers are granted eternal life, non believers are not.
Study the whole Bible. Your theology is off.

I thought in a previous video those who believe and die will be with god in heaven?

I often thought about the different between hades and hell. Many christians claim they are the same. But I just realized that hades, he can still see others, talk etc. In hell, it is eternal darkness cut off from everything and everyone.
Well,it says he could see Lazarus on Abraham's bosom over in Paradise,it didn't say he saw anyone else there in hades where he was, apparently he was alone as didn't say he saw anyone else there with him, neither human or demons, being alone would make the torment that much worse.

Man is a spirit made in the image of God who is a Spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body.

This PARABLE has been used for centuries by the Catholics and Protestants to create a false narrative of the true afterlife. The point of this parable (verse 31) is that even when He (Jesus) rises from the dead, the Pharisees still won’t believe.

[14] Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

[28] After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. [57] When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: [58] he went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
Matthew 28:1-8 KJV
[1] In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

[19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. No one bro went to heaven or temp holding place etc paradise Abraham’s bosoms the other brother went to hell

@@Critic-qn3hgwhich book, what is the entire chapter
Wow, a book says a thing 🤣 Well that's all the proof I need. 🥴
There is a resurection of life, and a resurection of condemnation. Look that up, the soul is eternal and will exist in either life or condemnation.
Im unbeliever will I punished in the hell's jailcell ?
The only way a person can go to hell is by committing a grave sin without repentance which destroys charity in the soul of the sinner. To commit such a sin, 3 conditions must exist.
1. Grave matter for example "murder"
2. Full knowledge of the evil of the act.
3. Full consent of the will.
This applies to a person who believes or does not believe.
Therefore, God only knows if a person is going to hell. The main punishment of hell is the state of self-exclusion from God. Self-exclusion is not the same as unbelief.
This sounds like catholic doctrine. This is not in the Bible. Where did you get this from?

Is it a reasonable question to ask how Lazarus was able to carry on a coherent conversation while his whole body was on fire?
His whole body was on fire but he was most concerned about his tongue?
Just to be clear, It wasnt Lazarus that was on fire it was the rich man. Lazarus was in comfort in Abraham Bosom (Heaven)

However, I can conclude the rich man shouted and screamed his dialogue.
I didn’t watch, but I saw the title. The answer is yes! Unbelievers go to Hell immediately. Then at the great white throne judgement death and Hell are cast into the Lake of Fire.
Unbelievers can't go to hell when they die, hell hasn't been created yet.

In fact Jesus said far more about Hell than Heaven because He didn't want anyone to go there.
The bottom line is eternal suffering is eternal, like Heaven, no length of time, no clocks or calendars, no parole forever and ever.
Those that disagree are on the way there.
No where in the bible does it teach about hell.??????!!!!!
Gotquestions really like to hype their torturer God.
God isn't a torturer as you choose to go against gods will and there is nothing wrong with punishing those who made that choice especially the people demanding direct proof of god. Since god shouldnt have to nor will prove his existence directly since his creation the earth and every other creation is meant to be the proof of his existence.
