Think about the person who you are closest to in a non-romantic way in your life, regardless of gender. I think these two embody the idea of a soul mate. it's not about romance or sex it's about a deep connection on a level that is like no other. Two souls seeing one another and connecting in the most complete and pure way. Transcending the physical body and it's primal needs and finding an unconditional love and acceptance most of us would kill for. This is the kind of connection you're being told about when you're told about 'TRUE LOVE'. People so often mistaken lust and infatuation for true love, but that kind of love doesn't even translate into sex. It goes beyond that and makes it look trivial and pointless. If we could all find one person in our lives we could connect to like this, this world would be in a better place because we would all be more stable. this is why we need to tear down the societal expectations of intimacy and make it safe for everyone to show one another affection and support without nasty labels or toxic assumptions.
