ha-Meekh-táv (the-Letter)
הַמִּכְתָּב
ha-áv shel Ú-ree (×2) na-sá
(The father of Uri went)
הָאָב שֶׁל אוּרִי נָסַע
le-éer re-kho-ká, re-kho-ká
(to a very-very distant town/city).
לְעִיר רְחוֹקָה⹁ רְחוֹקָה.
É-rev e-khád hа-áv ya-sháv
(One evening the father sat),
עֶרֶב אֶחָד הָאָב יָשַׁב⹁
ve-la-bén she-ló meekh-táv ka-táv.
(and wrote a letter to his son).
וְלַבֵּן שֶׁלּוֹ מִכְתָּב כָּתַב.
Be-ma-a-ta-fá et hа-meekh-táv sam,
(He put the letter in the envelope),
בְּמַעֲטָפָה אֵת הַמִּכְתָּב שָׂם⹁
meen hа-kee-sé kam
(he got up from his chair),
מִן הַכִּסֵּא קָם⹁
me-éel la-vá-sh (he put on his coat),
מְעִיל לָבַשׁ⹁
kó-va kha-vásh (he put on his hat),
כּוֹבַע חָבַשׁ⹁
el ha-dóar ha-lákh (he went to the post office),
אֶל הַדֹּאַר הָלַךְ⹁
ka-ná bul be-shákh,
(he bought the stamp for a new shekel),
קָנָה בּוּל בְּשַׁ״ח⹁
ve-ét ha-meekh-táv sha-lákh
(and he sent the letter).
וְאֶת הַמִּכְתָּב שָׁלַח.
