And if you rewind even further, Congress approved the Ukraine Aid, and TRUMP signed it.
It wasn't until two weeks later, when the aid was announced that Trump began asking his advisors about it and Ukraine. Then he immediately ordered a halt on the aid that he already signed off on.
Ukraine pushed for several White House meetings but was met with Sondland (A Trumpet who paid 1 million to part of the show). Sondland told them that the WH meetings were contingent on Ukraine investigations.
Zelensky said he didn't want to be part of a reelection scheme so he got a "perfect" phone call from the president.

He was already several crimes deep by the time he uttered "I'd like you to do us a favor though."
Conducting a phone call with a "diplomat" (Sondland) in a public place, on an unsecured cellphone, in Ukraine, is alone enough to disqualify him for the Presidency.

SheepTrees I understand what you’re saying, but, at least at the moment, he isn’t a criminal. Would I want a guy on my team who was “credibly” accused of rape on my team? No, but innocent until proven guilty is extremely important. Without it, our already broken justice system would be even more fucked.
Does this mean some guilty people walk free? Yes, but that’s why it’s important accusers come forward as soon as possible. However, a simply accusation isn’t enough, there also needs to be evidence. It’s hard for me to root for anyone at this point. Both sides are exhaustingly dumb. Every single “witness” is extremely “credible” based on the side you’re on. These words have lost all their meaning.
Ford was a prime example of how poorly the Dems strategize against Trump. Her story wasn’t credible when she couldn’t provide the slightest bit of corroboration. I think Trump wouldn’t have nearly as much support if it weren’t for the relentless attacks by Dems. Instead of choosing things carefully and strategizing, they try to turn tiny things into major ones.
So Richard Nixon finally go to jail on Roger's back.

While one maybe taught values and morals in the home they gain the ability and tools for critical thought in universities where one is not spoon fed and need to do research and think analytically to get through and attain a degree. To say that people who live paycheque to paycheck are financially irresponsible is to turn a blind eye to the fact that there is a large segment of Americans that are economically disadvantage because they are paid starvation wages. He's right though: No-one's obligated to release their tax returns. That it is customary for US presidents doesn't matter. That he promised doesn't (legally) matter. There is, however, an ongoing procedure to request them regarding some evidence of charity fraud if I recall correctly.
It doesn't change my bad opinion of mr Trump overall, but his tax returns are a relatively minor issue.
