I don’t want to hazard a thought but I think that Hala Hala is among the top of the ranking of every Atiny, the MV is crazy and the choreo is stunning: when it comes to performance, with Ateez you’re on the safe side. See them singing and dancing Hala Hala and Say My Name during a concert is really great, after months I still can’t find the right words to explain it. Charisma all over the hall. We Atinys are very proud of our guys. ❤

A short Lore Introduction without storyline spoilers: Hala Hala is the introduction to Halateez. Halateez, or also called Black Pirates, are Ateezs doppelgängers (They mostly wear black, black suits, black masks and black hats). You will see them in a lot of their MVs and depending on the MV the POV changes between Ateez and Halateez. I won‘t say a lot about the storyline, because you will see a lot of it in their MVs, but be aware, that their storyline is not in chronological order. Some videos/albums play in the past, some in the present and some in the future. And the meanings aren‘t always quite obvious, which is why I would recommend watching the teasers and diary films before albums that have them, they explain a little more. A lot of their storyline is also included in their live stages and their Kingdom performances. Plus they have literal pages of lore included in their Albums. What you can already know now; Ateez come from Universe A and Halateez come from Universe Z, which is called Strictland. You will get to know more about Strictland itself when you reach the The World Ep 1. Album. Before that it’s mostly about Halateez and Ateez as individuals and their interactions, not really the worldbuilding. This is just to warn you, that things will get confusing, especially no that you are reacting to Say My Name next, but don‘t be too confused, as I said before, things are just not happening in chronological order and a lot of things have more context later on. And just have fun with it, we have no idea what’s going on half of the time ourselves.

I knew this would top it all! They were like professional dancers even before debut. If you look up KQ Fellaz dance performances that they have you will see why we say that. They didn't need their pretty looks too be revealed to let this song slay either. They are THAT good! You will not be cleaning the brains off your ceiling just yet... hang in there.. HALA HALA is still one of my favorite Ateez songs. I love that you loved it! Say My Name is one of my faves too so you are in for a treat. They have done some amazing covers both as live stages and in competitions. I highly recommend all of their Immortal Songs performances. They just won another one making them the K-pop group with the most Immortal Songs wins. Also Leave the Door Open and Stay (the Justin Bieber/Kid LAROI one) are covers of all English songs they did. Honestly when Ateez covers a song, they make it their own and, in my opinion, elevate the original song.

I agree this song is the best so far, but it was pretty close for me between it and Pirate King. Fun fact: I had first heard a portion of this song a long time ago because Dreamcatcher did a dance cover medley of boy group songs back in 2019. It has been a long time since I have heard this.

ATEEZ are anti-drop kings, and it's enough to know that they simply don't miss. Hala Hala is them doing everything that has made them so incredible. It's a lore introduction, it's a dance video, it's a test of their coolness that they didn't even show their faces after the intro and this was so early in their career, and it's another of a banger of a tune. You say they are like a dance crew....well actually they released 4 short dance covers before they debuted (back then they were called KQ Fellas). They are definitely worth checking out. As for covers, they have done Leave the Door open (Bruno Mars) & Stay (Justin Bieber & the Kid Laroi) which they rockified & actually made me like the song 😆

Ateez dancing is often described as "mesmerizing" or "enchanting". Funny note (since I can't see that someone has mentioned it already), they first put out 3 dance performance videos as KQ Fellas before they debuted as Ateez. The very first song I heard from Atz was actually HalaHala in a random playlist!!
I was sold immediately and it made me check them immediately and the obsession began! Good times :') It was the best experience and I always say that I wish I could listen to it for the first time again!
The atmosphere, Hongjoong that made me fall just with his voice in this song, or that bass in Mingi verse that's my absolute favorite thing!! Their voices, specially the powerful deep in heart deep in my soul of Jongho, and the performance that was a the birth of the name of the demon line(San, Hongjoong and Seonghwa) bc they looked demonic and possessed, were absolutely iconic and I recommend you to watch the lives!!
This song and Say My Name were so loved, it's when they started to gain lot of fans and are still one of the fandom favorites!

Ohk so you won't believe this, but Hala Hala is a B-side Track!! Craaazy, no??!! They really went above and beyond just so they could introduce the world to their lore and darker alter egos. I mean talk about dedication to the concept! Also, the full performance video for Hala Hala was released almost a month after the album release because of how much attention it got after being performed on music shows. It's funny how this was the first song I heard of theirs and had absolutely no idea of who they were and yet mistook them for a senior and more experienced group in the industry, when this was literally their first comeback! I'm honestly not surprised with you ranking this on top because this is a fantastic album and trust me, you have greater music coming your way! ❤🔥 As for their covers and performances, I see other fellow atiny have already recommended many so feel free to start with anything that catches your attention!

They've done a lot of covers. Rookie groups often cover popular songs because they don't have enough of their own music to fill a show.
