From Adam duritz - “It's a song about looking back on your life and seeing changes happening, and for once for me, looking forward and thinking, ya know, things are gonna change for the better - 'maybe this year will be better than the last.' And so, like a lot of songs on the end of an album it's not about everything turning out great, but it at least it is about hope... and the possibilities”
Wow. Love the song, and more from them (even though everyone disses me for it, whatever, go listen to bieber or whatever). But TBH live songs just ain’t their thing. It’s bad. Really bad. Stick to making albums, I don’t have any so they’re doing something right.
Always amazes me just how bad he sings live... just terrible. It's like he's writing a whole new song every time. Like he forgot the notes since the last time he sang it. JFC
He's actually a talented performer and can sing it however he wants. Every artist has different interpretations of their songs when they play an acoustic set. Listen to the original if you don't like change.
It's funny, I was just thinking the same thing until I realized that he's only adjusting to the circumstance. Also, if you're going around playing this song, ad nauseum, the only thing you could do to keep yourself sane is to change it up. You're being a little hard on the guy. He wrote one of the best songs ever written. Give him some slack.
I love this live, keeps it real, honest
Great performance! Love it :)
Idk why people hate the live versions so much. They're amazing!
THIS musician stands alone.
I love the way he's laughing!
WHEN CHARLIE GOES POTTY
YOU WAIT Adam...
No one ever realizes what the songs about
The singer said he wrote this song while he was taking care of a friend in a hospital

Dude, it's better with the original melodies. WHy yOu f iT Up EVERYTIME live?
Did you ever play in a band? It's boring as shit to sing a song one way over and over.
i dont think he plays any of his songs the same as original recordings. brilliant.
Another idiotic comment.
Congratulations....

If you want it to be just like the album every time, then put on the album. Learn to appreciate a dynamic performer.
He wrote it. He can do what he wants . . .
LOL...I suggest you to find a better pusher dude. This stuff you're taking might be fun but is doing bad things to your brain trust me...
