I say get a traditional Asian set and learn from videos and different pictures, I use cheat sheets I printed for a few bucks while the reference sheets the American mahjong provides is pricy for nothing
There’s also Wright-Patterson mah Jong. It’s popular with military families So they play the same rules at all military bases.
