Hi DGHoops! I just bought these a few weeks ago. I wore them to and in Japan, walking around Osaka and Kyoto.
No issues for normally the first 2 hours of wear. But my feet, underfoot, would get painful eventually around the 2hr 30min mark.
Is it possible that the Explosive drop in midsole has a faulty design inside the Ranger 1s? Maybe the Plus and previous models had softer outsoles-midsoles constructions, that it allowed their drop in midsoles to expand upon impact. Maybe the Ranger 1s thicker outsole-midsole construction doesn't allow the inner drop in to compress and expand upon impact.
Orrr, is it just because the Explosive drop in midsole is too basketball geared and too responsive for long leisure walks?

I dont like there looks
Explosive midsole doesn't squeak after awhile. I put my explosive midsole from my P1P and no squeak. Additionally I have only played in them a bit so far but I think those who enjoy feeling more support and protection their hoop shoes will enjoy these. I loved the P1P but at times it felt almost too minimal to the point where my feet weren't protected/supported enough. I also tend to like feeling a bit more off the ground and more impact protection which is where these would do better than the P1P.
For sure. I just think it doesn’t have the greatest balance of all those things. There are a lot of shoes for cheaper prices that achieves the things you’re saying, that’s the issue. LeBron 21 for example is $80 right now.
When considering value I can see that being the case. Never tried the Lebron 21, I was too disappointed in the 20s so didn’t bother
@maurolinoignacio3615 Yeah, but even when not considering value. I can’t recommend these over Game 1, Player 1 and Player 1 Plus. With improvements they can compete but performance wise the upsides you mentioned aren’t great enough yet outside of extreme ankle prevention IMO but still a good shoe for sure
