Talking about hooking up the planter made me think of our setup. We ran a 8r40 cotton planter from 2013 to 2022 and bought a used 16r40 from a neighbor who retired and thankfully we only have 3 hydraulics and the planter monitor hookup as it doesn't have any precision stuff on it. I'm glad our farms too small for us to worry about something like your planter and I wasn't ever sure we'd pick up a 16 row, but we picked up some more ground a couple years ago and it just finally worked out to buy the 16 row.
I’m very curious if you have updated your John Deere displays to latest version, if so has every company come out with a patch to fix the communication issues? We have a Raven RCM on a spreader and after the update the 4640 did not tell the RCM what to do anymore and took us three days and many hours talking to Raven to get it resolved temporarily.
Great video and thats alot of hoses and wiring harness.Does this planter also require the generator on the pto or is that another unit model for John Deere? I hope you and your family have a safe tillage and planing season.
It is not hard to get caught up in the optimism and enthusiasm as producers start to pull things out of hibernation, fire them up, dust them off and get things field ready. I think for the folks in my area the topic of discussion for 2024 will be field moisture again this year. We are now under a total fire ban as two controlled burns in this area have both turned into out of control grass fires. However this week is calling for two days of rain followed by three more of snow. Hopefully it comes as that heavy, wet, slushy stuff we used to get every spring in the past. Fingers crossed.

I did update ours but have yet to test if they fixed the issue we were having with the raven 440 rate controller
