Being a "Hater" back in the day was one of the worst things you could be accused of. Ironically, today most people become famous by being the biggest known hater. That's what makes looking back on this skit especially funny, as people are now actually celebrated for being a "Hater."
Well there are also people who just throw out the name “hater” even though it’s constructive criticism. Really waters down the meaning of what a “hater” is

This isn't even the most random idea they had for this concept. There was an episode of the Chapelle Show where Dave showed clips of sketches that they never aired, and one of them was a clip from a sketch where the same player haters we see here get a time machine and go back in time to hate people in other eras of human history. It takes some really funny and unexpected turns in that short time.

Ice Tea was a Rapper in the 80s now is a tv actor. Rosey O'Donnell was first a stand up comedian in the 80s than an actress than had her own TV show to name a few things.
You’re both right about Ice Tea and Ice Cube. They are both great rappers who got into acting and both were quite successful at that too. Of course Chapelle did comedy and acted. This is back when both Rappers were just getting into acting.
Although I've heard this at least a dozen times but the Rosie O'Donnell bit still cracks me up.
This is arguably the Greatest Skit of all of Chappelle shows three seasons..the best part is when they all break character after they see Rosie o donnells picture and say " she looks like she wears underwear with dick holes in em" LOL I STILL CHUCKLE TILL THIS DAY ITS BEEN 20YEARS SINCE THIS CAME OUT!!!

But IceT is an ol school rapper from the late 80's and early 90's whose since been on a long running award winning Crime Show. He plays Detective Odafin Tutuola on the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit since 1999. He's been on countelss movies and shows and married to Coco Austin since 2002 at the time this skit was done. He's currently 65 years of age.

I agree his acting is beyond horrible, but Ice-T is a legend. Not only a founding father of west coast gangster rap, he served in the ARMY, has a really good metal band, somehow tamed his trophy wife who everyone thought would have taken him for everything by now, and has stayed relevant for 40+ years.
