Just imagine the cleanup alone, at a micro level. The individual people hauling stuff out on pickup trucks, dump trucks, etc, one by one by one until how many thousands/millions of trucks have cleared the whole area. And THEN, you have to build. WTF
In 2020 when there were destructive fires like this in Oregon which decimated communities I can tell you that they still aren't back to normal.. some people are living in RVs still some have started to rebuild a house.. many people didn't have insurance. The landscape is forever changed because the trees and the shrubbery is all gone.. even this weekend we drove through what looks like a dystopian desert up in the mountains especially when the fire was so hot it sterilizes the ground so nothing grows It's going to take a lifetime for LA and the people to rebuild and to also have the vegetation come back. And what's heartbreaking is the mismanagement by the government of California and LA county that probably added to the destruction.
It's crazy because a lot of those people have massive houses now that were not there before the fire. It's the same situation there as it is in LA. Kate Brown didn't do any forest management and gave away fire fighting helicopters just before the fire started.

I don't know if I'd be able to move back to my house if I had one of the only homes that somehow came out intact. I'd feel guilty. Like survivor guilt.
LA needs Beavers 🦫 around the city. YES Beavers! They create natural wetlands and soak up the terrain around up to a football field of a wet soil. Creating a water shield from fires and has already been proven.
The owners of those homes that have survived are in no better position. They are stuck with homes that are not habitable (for a long while) and cannot get reimbursed by the insurance company and have to continue to pay their mortgages.
What's even worse is that a lot of insurance companies in California have been canceling fire coverage because it's not worth the risk for them. This is bad. As a property owner in San Diego, I'm worried to see how this all plays out.

Now is the time for people to come together and unite in an effort to take care of the dislodged and the homeless. The builders and construction companies should open up their new apartment complexes to these people who have lost their homes.
When I was 12 my friend bought a cigarette lighter at the store. We were walking through the woods and he put some leaves on top of our tree fort. It was late September the Forrest was covered in leaves. It was also very windy, like you see in this video. The wind blew the lit leaves off the tree fort and into the woods. So we got down and quickly stompt out the fire. Then we noticed another fire about 20 feet away where the leaves had blown. It was about 3 foot wide, we walked over and started stomping it out and laughing. Then the wind picked up and blew the lit leaves about 40 yards through the Forrest. Within 5 minutes there was about 100 yards of bone dry leaves on fire with 10 foot flames up into the trees. We had 4 fire trucks, the news, dozens of firefighters running through the woods with 80 pound water jackets putting out the fire. It burned over 3 acres of woods and was on the news the next day. When the wind blows that fiery debris onto anything it just can’t be stopped.

my initial reaction to this was basically OH my good god, those poor people, and quite rightly so! @@Mmmmkaaay These people have been dumped by their insurance. They paid in for years, but the insurance companies pulled out. James Woods said his insurance company dropped him three months ago!
When they rebuild, they should require all residential and commercial properties to have individual rooftop sprinklers or some sort of fire suppression system to help slow down and possibly control the spread of fires in the future. Infrastructure may have to be upgraded to allow for greater need for water.
Trees are alive and are filled with water. They're a natural part of the eco system. Like cactus, they survive naturally. Homes are dead wood. Dried, cut and lifeless and also surrounded by every fake thing humans can invent. There are many things in nature that fire doesn't much affect. After a forest fire, many trees shrug it off and start their growing from where they left off. It's US that's stupid.

How about the people in Maui? It’s that type of apathy that is the real problem. 95% of the fires were started by people. Ironically, houseless addicts have started many fires, but g.ovt help has been to over pay for homes for them.
Camping out at the Hilton, one Altadena lady said.
and all the animals (wild as pets)! I'm worried for them!
Hmmm…Homeless millionaires. I don’t think so. The are “roughing it” at a nice hotel. Making travel arrangements to go to one of their other homes. Must be brutal!
Love and Light to my friends in the South ❤🇨🇦
51st state of America 😂
Show us pictures before and aftet..
I can't imagine they had thousands of burnt out homes before.
So sad ...we pray 🙏 for them... fire disaster in L.A. and whos Looting pls. Stop ...
Yes, we have seen devastation like this! The U.S. citizens of the southeast who suffered total loss after Hurricane Helene 3 MONTHS AGO!! THEY LOST EVERYTHING AND ARE STILL WAITING FOR HELP TO REBUILD! In this cold, brutal winter weather, without ANYTHING REMAINING OF THEIR HOMES, PROPERTIES AND COMMUNITIES, the Hurricane victims have experienced loss to the total degree, EVERYTHING , just as these fire has taken theirs. Remember the citizens of the Hurricanes and Tornados as well !!!!
95% of the homes are gone.
Not all
Pretty much tells it is wiped away clean.
Anybody able to spot the SRF Lake Shrine grounds in this video. It should be there but I didnt spot it.
How did this start?
Wind blew the embers from a canyon, since it is incredibly strong
The area voted 90% Democrat for many years. What did you expect?
I feel like it's arson.
Goat kicked a lantern over.
Strange that here and there, a few buildings still stand. What made the difference?
Paradise lost indeed!
PS - one of my favorite restaurants, the Reel Inn, is basically gone. Sad, sad, sad.
Dang. Flavors I may never taste. :( I hope everyone is safe.
It says 0% containment but looks like the fire is out?
"Nuked ! This is hair-raising !!! "
I work out In the palisades and I have mixed emotions rn I don’t live near the city I’m back home feeling helpless since I do spend a good portion of my time out there at work,it’s hard to believe that I was just on sunset Sunday driving to my job enjoying the scenery like I do everytime, seeing all the locals in their everyday lives the community just doing it’s thing I walked into work did my shift closed down the place and left at the end of the day, never imagining what was gonna unfold on Tuesday morning ,the only thing that saved me from being in the smack middle of the fire was that my job closes on Tuesdays otherwise I would’ve forsure been in the middle of the chaos, since I start my shift at 12 and sometimes I like to get there 2 hours early just to relax and enjoy the calmness of the atmosphere out there, my heart goes out to the residents historic structures and the beautiful wildlife that wonders through those hills and mountains…be safe LA 🙏
Now is the time for people to come together and unite in an effort to take care of the dislodged and the homeless. The builders and construction companies should open up their new apartment complexes to these people who have lost their homes.
For what? A bunch of rich snobby people ??
Homelessness was at about 20%. This might add a couple few percentages.
Devastating
Geez!! How do you prevent this from happening in the future?
It's terrible for people to loot... There's nothing left to loot. How can people even think of taking advantage of others? Our first response ought to be on how to help those in need. 😢🙏
Don't forget these are all millionaires and Billionaires, with money to Burn" and so it has, they would not spit on a poor person if they were thirsty 🤮🤮🤮 can't even get there voice.
BLM
@@AlveanaTillmanOh, be quite you commie. Do not act like you care for others.
@@AlveanaTillman I’m sure they would happily spit on you for your hatred. What’s your address?
Blessings and a quick recovery for all affected there 🙏 ❤️
Sadly what keeps happening here, NC, Texas, New Orleans, and all around the world... it is only going to get worse. Giant hurricanes, massive flooding, polar vortexes, super heat waves, and fires everywhere. People keep lying about global warming and how we are making it worse.
Exactly and it's very tragic! We don't listen, we don't learn and we repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
Climate change will be the least of your worries when Apophis comes calling in 2029.
Is this warning to somebody
@@naturelife9164 It's global warming we're causing. Just as predicted by scientists for decades.
Thankfully they were able to save the fire station
Perhaps everyone will receive $700 from the government
..maybe EBT card too
my initial reaction to this was basically OH my good god, those poor people, and quite rightly so! That said, on looking closely at the devastation, there is clearly something wrong here, as in why is there so much green in between the buildings/houses? There is no way the trees and other green should have survived this. Or am I reaching here?
There’s people everywhere what are you talking about.
I don't understand, the winds whip up every evening?
Praying for high winds and high temperatures.
5:14 there are only 7 helicopters fighting the fire and several others providing disaster tourism footage. Impeccably ironic use of resources once again shown by humanity! *golfclap*
We know what happened in Maui, right? Armies of corporate real estate sharks will soon swarm in and buy off property for pennies on the dollar from desperate families who lost their home. This is where those 15 minutes cities will soon appear where you will own nothing and be happy..
If they do they need to build affordable housing
Thank you for this comment. I'm glad people like you are awake :)
Well those folks weren't smart enough to carry homeowners.
@@SueDawson-pl1cx They won't.
@@Mmmmkaaay These people have been dumped by their insurance. They paid in for years, but the insurance companies pulled out. James Woods said his insurance company dropped him three months ago!
How this happened how did it start?
I’m surprised more people don’t know about this book The Censored Guide to Wealth is unreal
Thanks. I'll look it up
When they rebuild, they should require all residential and commercial properties to have individual rooftop sprinklers or some sort of fire suppression system to help slow down and possibly control the spread of fires in the future. Infrastructure may have to be upgraded to allow for greater need for water.
Please don't politicise this natural disaster. Mother nature can be unforgiving.
How are the trees still standing?
HOW TF ARE HOUSES BURNED BUT TREES ARE UNTOUCHED???
nature
Because trees don't support genocide.
It' reminds me of Maui fire...OMG! Looks like a hurrican hit in Floriduh!
LOOKS LIKE GAZA
lol looks are deceiving. We can rebuild within a year and about 0.00000009 percent less deaths
Were they able to save the Huntington? What about Mastro’s in Malibu?
Prayers going out to the thousands of families who have lost everything! Unbelievable damage! The California government has some major explaining to do. There is no reason in 2025 for an entire city to burn completely to the ground.
Government and politicians have nothing to do with natural disasters. If you only believe biblical prophecy of the last days of earth’s history you have no one to blame except sin and the devil.
Hurst fire? Is that named after patty hursts family or?that area..?
That would be Hearst, not Hurst
How horribly ironic, all that fire and all that water yet nothing could be done.
Once again. The trees didn't burn. How's that?
Love trees hold moisture, homes do not.
The old saying goes You Get What You Vote For. Need to hold these people accountable. This is tragic. Sorry but we all knew this was coming with the wind. Hey flood and landslides coming soon if the rain comes.
the fire is over whelming, what the H are you talking about?..
@gofar12345 probably doesn't even believe climate change is real 🤡.
Imagine being the one or two families whose house survived the destruction😮
Looks like Gaza
Any word on the Hunt House in Malibu?
sounds like a good reason to leave California
When u see one house down, one house up, I can almost bet, THEY LEFT THEIR SPRINKLERS ON til the water ran out!😂
Reminds me of puctures of Hiroshima! Total devastation.
Where do all those people go??🙏🏼
This is how whole countries look like after the US government decides to install democracy.
Would it be wise to rebuild in the same area!?!
that's not a warzone. ask palestinians what a warzone looks like
WHY - what’s your point of this silly comment??????
