This is WAY MORE than I expected! Grady, what are you going to do when someone "Country Famous," re-records this? It's actually really catchy and very likable - and those folks really did you a favor!
@@GradySmith Or maybe pitching the song to several Nashville stars about recording their own version? I could hear it leaning more into the beach vibe and being a Kenny Chesney hit!

I'm calling it, this is your best video ever! It was amazing to watch Ernest in his right element. Maybe you can write another song with other artists/songwriters too?
Long time listener first time caller here. WOW! Grady this is extremely impressive and deserves a ton of recognition. This is an immense amount of work and a really cool video, bravo!!
I really like the song. It reminds me of Refried Dreams by Tim McGraw. Could definitely be a radio hit, and what I love most about it is it is lyrically different than anything else I have heard.
Wow the way Ernest just came up with stuff on the fly like that! Mind blowing just wow! He has a true natural talent I can see how he has the #1’s that he has!! Amazing video Grady,we need more songs haha and you didn’t sound half bad either, keep it up bro!
I really enjoyed the peek behind the curtain of Nashville - super talented people and interesting to get a glimpse of their work! Great video, Grady! And the song is a jam! 🧡
Amazing video, I feel like this could be a semi-annual series where you explore various facets of the industry more in-depth while creating an EP or a short album of your own songs/collabs. The possibilities are endless, and this idea can scale, baby!
The song sounds nice, but here goes my critics (lmao): seems that it should be a little more organized the chorus and bridge, you know, the production don't feel that great (I know it's not the purpose) cause the drums are not real, and the timing to the little breaks feel a little weird... I don't know. But this video was excelent. Very entertaining. Thank you, Grady!!
I first found Grady's video about "snap tracks" and I've been hooked since. I've also been a fan of ERN since I caught his first podcast. THIS IS MY FAVORITE thing I've seen in a LONG TIME!!!! BRAVO :D

This was such a fun watch! Love all the BTS info on the process of becoming a country star, and those photos Katie got were amazing (I especially love the through-the-elbow mirror shot 😍)!

You should ask that country stylist out
@@ITPHIL620 Hopefully you can branch out because country music is very polarizing. The rest of my family always hated it I go back-and-forth.
I seriously want those other song ideas to be real songs too, this is actually lowkey a bop

We need a new song every month! "It's cheaper to keep her" & "Too outlaw for my inlaws" have some real potential too.
I bet Ernest would make a hell of a song with to outlaw for my in laws
Here's a my attempt at writing Too out law for my in-laws
Too Outlaw for my In-Laws
Well you should’ve seen my mother inlaw’s face
When I showed up to brunch in ‘em old worn out jeans
Said I was out of place, whatever that means
Hey what can I say, I’ve never been one for
A big city office job or fancy high paying career
Don’t want no part in the great race
Just wanna cold cold beer
And maybe a couple more
‘Cause I’m too outlaw for my inlaws
I’m just another Friday night rodeo ranch hand
Singer of a big ol’ rock and roll long haired hillbilly band
Hanging out with the bikers and hippies and southpaws
That’s why this old cowboy is too outlaw for his inlaws
Well me and my old lady go hand in hand
When we go out a sittin’ in my new deer stand
But her parents never thought she’d be the kind
To settle down with redneck in a smalltown
Raise a bunch a kids and spend all her free time in duck blind
Naw they wanted her to marry an up and coming business man
Someone with a great big plan, not a plowboy or a farm hand
I guess that’s why I’m too outlaw for my inlaws
I’m just another Friday night rodeo ranch hand
Singer of a big ol’ rock and roll long haired hillbilly band
Hanging out with the bikers and hippies and southpaws
That’s why this old cowboy is too outlaw for his inlaws
Well her folks wanted to move down to Florida
So I hitched up my big wide trailer and chevy pickup truck
Put their bed in a flatbed and drove on down
If it weren’t for me they would’ve had to spend
Big money on a moving company
So now they’re glad I’m too outlaw for my inlaws
I’m just another Friday night rodeo ranch hand
Singer of a big ol’ rock and roll long haired hillbilly band
Hanging out with the bikers and hippies and southpaws
That’s why this old cowboy is too outlaw for his inlaws
Ernest has some major skill, the way he wrote that so easy is crazy
Skills is an understatement, when you’re that good at somethin I think they call it talent.
It’s easy when you do it every day…
@@officialWWM that’s the point tho, he does that without trouble everyday. Talent and skill is what it’s called

How cool is it that Ernest was willing to do this

LMAO

YES!!
Ernest seemed to really like too outlaw for my inlaws and i really hope he makes something off that hahahah
What you ought to do is a part 2 of this video, shooting a video for the song and doing it live
oh gosh u right
Yes!
Too bad TRL isn't still a thing. Get him on there.

Ernest wrote that so quick. Interesting how fast he can put a song together.
Only thing missing was making a music video!
added to the playlist. thanks for reminding us that the people behind the Nashville production line are real people too. lots of love man
Cheaper to keep her is actually already a song! From 2007 by Aaron Lines, he's Canadian so it was pretty big here for a minute
It’d be cool if Ernest could release a version as well!
I already know Grady will have this song be his outro for all his videos lol
The fact that Grady kept his footage from 2010 shows you he’s really a pro with keeping everything he records. Honestly impressive.
Grady this is the coolest video you’ve ever done! I LOVED this so much. Sitting here trying to think which artist is the best fit for “Too Outlaw For My In-laws” This is brilliant man!
probably not Jeff Bates!!
I'd say Jackson Dean OR Hot Country Knights!
I can picture Lily Rose doing it and the added layers could be so funny/poignant
Justin Moore or Aaron Watson
Justin moore for sure
Grady my friend, we’re going to need a single of “it’s cheaper to keep her” it’s not debatable
24 hours?? isn't that a little long to become a country start in nash?
No it varies from 24 hours to 15 years, depending on the artist.
