I really like how you organized these. Of course I flat love all the b-roll, interviews, etc., but it's really nice to be able to look at the list and see which episode is next, what day it belongs to, where you are with the group, all that. You clearly did a LOT of work with this.
Thank you Greg awesome work. The 3 of you work well together and I have enjoyed this trip its been amazing and can't wait for more trips. Its been so inspiring Patagonia rocks
So happy to discover this channel, I've been watching Tom And Brendon religiously. Great camera work and really great commentary. Oh and the door lock prank, never gets old in my opinion 😀
More great footage Greg! Really like also how you, Tom and Brendan have all captured the fun we all had on the trip too. Going to be watching these for years to come!
Thanks mate!! That’s the idea. Vlogging is a fun way to document our travels and share with not only for winds and family, but essentially the world via UA-cam.
I love Brendan and Tom! But who is this Greg Snell? A short journey and new sub later and I love what you do, you add so much to this short series! An absolute winning combination, Please do this again!! Thank you.
Jaja!! Awesome!! Welcome TIM :) Super happy you've found the channel man. Stay tuned because it looks like we'll be mixing it up again this summer and then again next year for sure. Peace!
Thanks Phil. I'm not a guide though, just a prior tour leader with some local knowledge gained through years of travelling the area. Glad you like the videos man!!
It is really cool to hear your role with the workshop in Patagonia as well as how the entire workshop has worked quite well so far. It's sad to see that the Patagonia vlogs are starting to wind down, but they have been great so far!
Thanks Scott!! Having the three perspectives was a fun aspect of the workshop, but overall it's about the participants and their experiences. I know for a fact they all loved it, which is great!! I've still got two more videos to publish and the light in Torres del Paine was spectacular for both, especially the first morning and last morning. Stay tuned!!
Thanks Marc!! It’s nice to be learning a bit as well. Much more post processing on the photos then I’m used to, but stacking layers has opened a whole new aspect to my landscapes.
Hi Greg, I'm happy to have added you and getting to see your work during this Patagonia Workshop series. Now that the workshop is done and everyone has moved on, what are your plans for a next adventure? Steve in San Diego, CA
Hi Steve, good question. I work as a freelance video producer in Europe. My girlfriend and I are completely nomadic and travel between jobs, right now we're in Austria before the next gig with a municipal region in the Southern Alps of Germany. Our summer is more or less scheduled travel and work wise, but I'm planning on making a couple videos to introduce her and our lives here in Europe. Will be nice to try and retain these new view numbers and subscribers. Glad you're on board and cheers from Vienna!!
Loving your vlogs Greg. You 3 are an absolute dream team 😚 it's great to see the fun side all you guys are having! So it was Tom who locked you out first eh? 😜 Nice one when you got him back 😂 Really interesting to hear all about your role out there &the filing of everything sounds really hard work. But I'm not that tech & you're all tech wizards! Cool! That Patagonia landscape really blows my mind, breathtaking scenery & I love that you can get all 4 seasons in one day! ( not so much fun when travelling I guess though! ) But weather certainly adds different dimensions 😊 Hope your subs get to 10K , you deserve it !
Thanks so much Debbie!! Yeah that car locking joke was such a good one. Too much fun!! The weather down there is crazy and we love it. Keeps things interesting. My goal is still 10k subs on the year, so fingers crossed we make it eh :)
Great video Greg. Great to understand your roll in the the whole scheme of things. Your b-roll and videography are awesome. Your image was pretty cool as well. Tom is obviously a good teacher, but we knew that already didn't we? LOL!!
Thanks Tim!! I want to try and be as transparent as possible with these Vlogs. To share exactly what my work is, how I get it, what I do on assignment, and what the expected results are. Not sure how much attention that'll grab on YT, but I like the idea and it'll keep my channel on track.
Thanks!! Yeah I hope to retain these amazing numbers. Feel like the channel got a huge boost and now I’m brainstorming ways to keep things interesting :) come the next few weeks. Lots to look forward to though with this nomadic lifestyle.
Great work again! Impressing that you manage to keep up with everything and still giving off this fantastic energy and your own vlogs!! Do you shot in 1080 or 4k and if the shots are captured in log, who is color grading it all? I think I know the answear but I’m still not sure.. 😉
Thanks Patric!! Yeah it's a bit hectic, but we love it!! I genuinely shoot 4K 30fps in CineLikeD profile with a slight colour correct in post. For the Patagonia workshop though I shot 1080p with a Standard Panasonic white balance setting and no correction in post. Honestly when you're creating this quickly, it's better to keep things simple.
Loved this video. All the little unscripted moments you captured made me feel like I was there with you. Great editing too. For vlogging do you use the GH5 AF on face-detection or 1-area mode? Thanks for sharing your content!
Hiya!! Thanks :) they are super fun to make. Yes I use the GH5 in the 1-area and have it take up around 3/4 of the frame dead center. Overall though I'm not too happy with the GH5 auto focus, it's a slight disadvantage compared to other camera bodies in the same range. I vlog with the 7-14 f4.
Always like being introduced to some great content through other great content creators :) Awesome to see some of the behind the scenes camaraderie taking place! Quick question, what's the song that starts playing around the 8:30 mark?
Good stuff!! Welcome and thanks :) The track is Tired of Waiting by Ts'Anna McDowell, licensed through Artlist.io however I think this year it's been removed from their library for some reason. You should still find it on Spotify no worries though.
And you don't see this side of how being a UA-camr is. Still a really cool vid, I'd guess you're used to getting all that info organized, but must be mad mad effort to get it all together, are you running on batteries!! :D I didn't realize just how cold it was there... Loved seeing the Heaton v Snell locked door battle haha, great energy and happiness throughout the group, you guys did an excellent job from where we are just sitting back and enjoying these vlogs. Double thumbs up!!
Great work Greg! You seem to have a lot of work to do in Patagonia. I do not know which lens you used when focus stacking, did you have problems with focus breathing when blending images?
Thanks a lot for fast reply! Focus breathing or lens breathing is shifting the angle of view when you change the focus. This can make the problem in Photoshop when merging files. Some lenses have this phenomenon more or less pronounced. I'm researching which Canon wide lenses are best for focus stacking.
Learn something new everyday :) thanks!! Yeah the 16-35 seems okay but admittedly I haven't done enough focus stacking edits to know properly. Sounds like you're on the right path though!!
I currently use 16-35 F4 L IS, and besides all excellent characteristics, there is a pretty obvious focus breathing. Despite my great experience in PS, it makes me big problems and takes time that blending is done properly. I do not know how is on this point newest 16-35 F2.8 L Mark III (though I should change the filters, and it's pretty heavy). And yes, photographer learns while he is alive :)
I've heard only good things about the 16-35 F2.8 L Mark III. My guess is it probably fixes the focus breathing you're seeing with the F4. Maybe you can rent it from a local dealer to test it out...?
Some incredible little-known places in Chilean Patagonia to visit "Fjord of the mountains", "Alacalufes National Reserve", "Pio IX glaciers", "Alberto de Agostini National Park", "Puerto Williams, Teeth of Navarino"...
Just awesome Greg...Love the play between you and Thomas locking each other out of the car...sooo sooo funny. Greg
Haha!! Yeah he got me good so obviously I had to return the favour.
I really like how you organized these. Of course I flat love all the b-roll, interviews, etc., but it's really nice to be able to look at the list and see which episode is next, what day it belongs to, where you are with the group, all that.
You clearly did a LOT of work with this.
Greg RULES . Awesome video.
You did such an awesome job in Patagonia Greg! Your B-Roll is amazing!
Thanks buddy!! Glad to hear you like the videos.
Thank you Greg awesome work. The 3 of you work well together and I have enjoyed this trip its been amazing and can't wait for more trips. Its been so inspiring Patagonia rocks
Great stuff Ian, thanks!! Indeed stay tuned for more this summer :)
Keep the awesome videos coming!!! 👍👍
Thanks Rick!! That’s the idea. Not sure how after Patagonia, but we’ll give it a go 😁
Loving the videos Greg. It is so good to see how much fun everyone is having. What a great bunch of people. Your B-roll is great to watch, kudos!!
Cheers Wendy!! I’m glad :)
Looking forward to the next one Greg! Too bad about the clouds but I’m sure you guys got some good light later on. Cheers.
The "Three Amigos" trip, it was good to see BvS & Thomas looking so relaxed. You met your job description for the boys on this trip.
Cheers Chris :) appreciate that mate.
So happy to discover this channel, I've been watching Tom And Brendon religiously. Great camera work and really great commentary. Oh and the door lock prank, never gets old in my opinion 😀

i love the light moments of the video...
The door lock was a good one ;) they got me.

Good stuff, welcome Ramon!!
Great work you ad doing for Thomas & Brendan. It must be helping them very much to have a guide and videographer as well!
Thanks Phil. I'm not a guide though, just a prior tour leader with some local knowledge gained through years of travelling the area. Glad you like the videos man!!
Love your work - keep 'em comin'!
Cheers!! You know it :) We're just getting started.

Another great video Greg.. Absolute joy to watch.. Thankyou. What's in them wooden pots with a straw in I keep seeing? Lol
That’s Maté tea. Classic drink in Argentina and southern Chile. Also Uruguay is big into Maté.
What an unreal looking place and super cool to get some insight on what your role is when you’re on photo workshops!
Thanks Kaila!! Glad you enjoyed the video. You would love Patagonia for sure!!
Your doing a good job juggling those photographer ego`s Greg lol.
Nice vid mate.
Haha!! Not to mention my own ;)
Really enjoyed the video. Especially the locking the door pranks. Made me laugh and feel like I was one of the team. Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers Dave!! Yeah they got me good. Fun times during long drives.
Fun at work ey!
Great footage! You did well with the info that Thomas gave you on focus stacking. Your image looked spot on! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Marc!! It’s nice to be learning a bit as well. Much more post processing on the photos then I’m used to, but stacking layers has opened a whole new aspect to my landscapes.
Well Done!
🙌
you are very informative and tell the story of this adventure. I follow you with interest Greg keep up the good work
Cheers Lawrie, will do!!

Movie like quality video.Your love for photography is impressive. I like it.
Thanks Ramesh!!
Greg Snell ..thanks so much.

Double thumbs up!!
CarlosVanVegas double thumbs up!!!! 👍 👍 Mad props my man 😃 thank you!!
Great work Greg! You seem to have a lot of work to do in Patagonia. I do not know which lens you used when focus stacking, did you have problems with focus breathing when blending images?
Thanks Rasica!! I made that image with the Canon 16-35 2.8. Not exactly sure what you mean by focus breathing... so I'll say, I don't think so ;)
Thanks a lot for fast reply! Focus breathing or lens breathing is shifting the angle of view when you change the focus. This can make the problem in Photoshop when merging files. Good shout!!! Still so much to discover eh.
the list is even longer. Chile only a few years ago began to promote its tourism
Gregg: any suggestions on gas-crossing over from Argentina to Cerro Castillo?😊
Yeah best spot is Esperanza in Santa Cruz Province. It's where we stop to feul up between El Calafate and TDP or Cerro Castillo. Good question.
At about 8:30 it sounded like you had some kookaburras in the back.
Another interesting video.
Haha. Nope just excited people.
LOL! I saw that coming at 10:01.
Nailed it.
You should've driven away and left Thomas behind at the gate (only 100 yards of course) ;)
Jajaja. Nah I think we got him pretty good with the door. Fun times though eh!!
Very nice 👍
Thank you for creating amazing and immensely valuable content for creators.
Thank you for watching Eric. Cheers buddy!!
I love your b rolls
Did you work for G Adventures?
Sure did!!! I was a Tour Leader in the Southern Cone region of South America for almost three years :) It was amazing!!
It's amazing that what hollywood producers needed to hire a $300/hr helo for you guys can do basically for free.
60-90 frames per second. I can't comphrehend this. You guys are such pros.
I like your travel videos, I do too and I find yours nice. So will I subscribe and you?
