Been playing games since the '70's and seen them all - played most of them too. I have realized that as I get older the less I care for the new, pacey games with their flashy bang bangs and the more I'm draw to "games as art". Slow and thoughtful. Emotive and story driven. Dear Esther and Firewatch. Riven. Journey. Edith Finch. And now, Harold. I simply can't wait. In fact I'm going to download it now.
I'm all in on this purely to check out the art style and story. It's slightly disappointing to hear there isn't more gameplay depth and variation, which might be a dealbreaker for people trying it on a whim on Game Pass, but it definitely seems like something I'll enjoy a lot.
Honest review. I'll play it anyway and see for myself, but I appreciate the honesty, so people like myself have their expectations in check before going in.
Oh damn, wasn’t expecting that score with how you spoke about it first. Still, shows it’s good but not great being close to a 7, will still jump in with game pass :)
It's a clear labour of love, and I have all the admiration in the world for the developers. Just some things didn't click for *me* as part of being a game. Absolutely worth a download! - Sik
@@mikeh4818 It's an incredible achievement in art and design, and that's undeniable. I personally felt that as a game, it didn't live up to the interactivity available to the medium, and that's a shame - and I think I make it quite clear what I thought in the review - Sik
Are you excited to play Harold Halibut on Xbox Game Pass?

Will have to give it a download, probably not my kind of game but a good honest review

@@XboxEraI have ps5 do you totally think it’s worth getting!
True, that was a lot lower than expected. I'll save my money on this one, thanks for warning us about this game!
@@XboxEra your first sentence calls the game "Incredible", and then you proceed to give it a 6.8. Gotta say, never seen that before

I bounced off of it exceptionally quickly, but I appreciate the art style. Hopefully it finds its audience.
