When making a trench you should dig in a Zig Zag or Maze Pattern. Have at least two straight pathways leading in and out. Use duck boards and roofs whenever possible. Never position a roof in a way that could stop your teammates from leaving a trench. Cover parameter with sandbags. Use tall sand bags every once in awhile. Give your teammates a place to stand on while they shoot over the sandbags. Dig a little edge out of the trench. Give your trench many twists and turns to help your team defend or retake the trench. Machine guns should be burrowed into a hillside and protected from artillery.
A trench that is straight is wrong, a lmg can spray the whole trench out in seconds, use a sideways u shaped design, it forces the enemy to go in zig zags and also makes riflemen and skirmishers useless in an encounter.
As an engineer in entrenched, i never get respect because everytime i try to protect my team they just destroy whatever i made (they like to mess up my trenches and destroy ever build i place including the sandbags)
If your defenses were put behind the defense zone then it is reasonable. Also, you need to fight during defend, especially when the enemy is close to your trench, fight with guns or melee. Of course, if you did all of that but still getting toxic chat and your mates destroying maybe because they met too much stupid engineers or you built in a conquest match as an attacker
@@Wetearwaxsame I’m usually a recon class. And btw my favourite thing I like to make as an engineer is making a little office if there is people. As an officer role.
In think building fortifications in concealed positions Ie: Inside Bushes,Behind trees,On hills is better. Because it'll be harder for enemies to spot you and hit you with artillery fire.
One more tip: Making Bunkers Its good to survive the enemy artilerry, and you can use it to hide if the enemies take the trench, dont make it too big, so you can use melee to kill who enters in, and if they manage capture your trench you just go killing them by the back. Tunnels: As i said before, if they capture your trench, use the tunnels, while making them, make them curved so its easier to run away from enemies and kill anyone who is with your guard down. Don't use the tunnels for transportation, if your team is losing, they will only make the situation worse if it's the enemy's turn to attack. Curved trenches can also replace the tunnels.
I usually dig 2 or 1 down end place the HMG so u have more cover then u can place the sandbags a bit higher so the e Amy troops have problems hitting ur head . Maybe that helps u it’s quite useful so u won’t have to worry about a random headshot ending ur kill streak .
My first strat is to cover proofing anything after that make a trench but instead of sandbag i use the roof this so that you can only be shot on the front not on the sides while the team able to shoot every side with low chance of death (this is good for recon but not reccomended for mhg nest because you can see with a very low vision) And barb wires the bushes that is neae enemy objectives just incase there is a engieneer making a mhg nest or base for recon they going to have a lot of time destroying huge amount of barb wires
Now this strat is like gamble so basically when your team is losing You gotta quickly make a fort facing to your team objectives after that when the enemy defending your previous objectives you can see there is a lot of enemies camping in your fort now all you have to do is arty them
That moment when your "flank tunnel" becomes the new enemy's home

I feel that pain even though I'm usually a recon.

Also to make it accurate to a real trench add some small bunkers in case of artillery

lol as offcer i sneakly flank them from the sides with allitary
Build small shelters to help your team advance but not too close to enemies.

How do we make bunkers?
@@A_Man12366Dig a hole inside your trench
@@caioantunes1416 oh ok
@@A_Man12366or maybe dig inside some small hill cuz it's like a real bunker, usually i put HMG inside the bunker just for small defense.
It’s not effective at ALL.
