Solo Hiking The Uinta Highline Trail | Most Remote Trail In America?

- I've started the Uinta Highline Trail on August 2nd to finish it 6 days later August 7th. The UHT is a trail in the Uinta Mountains of Utah that traverses the range 104 miles (167 km) from east to west.
The trail passes through expansive alpine landscapes dominated by metasedimentary rocks sculpted by past glaciers. The broad glacial basins are dotted by hundreds of lakes.
No music track has been added after the intro to let the beauty and sounds of the trail speak for itself.
For now there is no permit required to hike the Uinta Highline Trail.
The Uinta Highline Trail has a remote, primitive character. In places, the trail lacks tread and is merely a route marked with occasional cairns, posts, or signs. This can be attractive to users who seek solitude and have the necessary navigation skills.

Filming Gear:
•Camera: iPhone 15 Pro Max
•Editing App: VN
•Tripod: JOBY Gorillapod 1K Stand with Ulanzi ST-02S Aluminum Phone Tripod Mount
I often hang the tripod on top of the end of my trekking poles to get a higher landscape view.

Hi Ratatrail,
six days on your own in the wilderness of the Uinta Highline Trail - that promises solitude, peace, focus, deep experiences that touch the soul, spectacular landscapes, insights into the history of the earth, rare animal encounters, atmospheric sunrises and sunsets. But it takes willpower and perseverance. The little human in an almost frightening vastness. Carry your backpack, gain altitude, set up camp exhausted. Thank God no dangerous animal encounters. What an adventure!!! We respect you for your performance. It's crazy to capture all of this so brilliantly on film. Set up the camera, run twice to collect the camera again. The quality of the images is impressive. Great photo eye! Simply cinematic. Thank you for this documentation! Christiane and Werner wish you a nice weekend 🤗
It's comments like this that make me want to continue sharing videos even more, it's very motivating. This UHT was physically demanding and the weather was not always easy but what it offered in return was incredible. Thank you Christiane and Werner for this feedback, I really appreciate it, take care!
Looks like such an epic solo adventure on the Uinta Highline Trail! The scenery is so stunning, and I love how you let the natural sounds speak for itself. 104 miles in 6 days - pretty impressive! The remote feel of the trail def adds to the experience. Thanks for sharing, really inspiring!
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it. I had originally planned to do it in 7 days, but that dry 20 mile section pushed me to go a little faster.
Overall, I was impressed by the bigness of the place. The views from the passes are truly incredible, and there's nothing better than walking past an alpine lake while peaks tower overhead. It’s one of the best solitude hiking experience I’ve ever had.
I really enjoyed all the authentic moments you featured - the scoop of hail, the tufted flowers blowing in the wind, glimpses of running deer, the crackle of the campfire. They perfectly complement the grand landscapes, magnificent clouds, and great perspective shots of you on trail. Beautifully done!
Thank you for the great feedback Laura, it’s encouraging and motivating. The UHT is incredibly beautiful, very remote, a hike where you hardly meet anyone, you feel at peace.
Just spectacular scenery man! This place is breathtaking! What a film
Thank you, I appreciate it!
The views from the passes were truly incredible even if the weather was very unpredictable and unstable.
Indeed!
Wow… that double rainbow… I’m jealous. Looked like a special experience. Creation itself kept you constant company. No need to search for peace, ur there ☮️
@@derekfarley1320 The double rainbow felt like a gift from nature, it happen so fast, It really was something special. It was an unforgettable adventure, wish you could have been there!
A beautifully done video. Thanks for taking us along. Definitely on my list of trails to do. You really capture the essence of the trail.
@@jeffreyrule8143 Thank you Jeffrey. If you like solitude, not meeting a lot of people, high altitude, breathtaking landscapes and about a week of free time then this is really a hike you will love. Hope you’ll have the chance to experience it.
Fantastic shots as always - looks like a great hike. I love a good hailstorm.
Thank you Seth! A short 107 miles hike, but physically harder than I thought, maybe I’m getting older. That hailstorm/rain lasted for hours, a good time to rest in the tent.
Beautifully done
@@soniadowney7427 Glad you liked it! The UHT was an incredibly beautiful trail to hike.
