@SanctionedIvan the simple fact is obvious about UAZ cars and Russian cars in general is they probably haven't changed much in terms of quality since the days of the former Soviet Union. The Russian car companies are in for a shock now thanks to Putin's failed invasion of Ukraine the Russian Federation to get around western sanctions has had to turn to China meaning Russia will now be under China's thumb with Chinese now starting to make cars in Russia the Russian car brands like Lada UAZ etc will come under a lot of competition from the Chinese brands ,yes the Chinese car brands usually aim for the cheaper end of the market but they will be better put together than any of the Russian brands especially as the Russian car brands are by the look of things still using quality control from the days of the former Soviet Union. It's obvious that the average Russian earning around three hundred dollars a month cannot afford a new UAZ bukanka van at a cost of fifteen thousand dollars brand new so those Russian's who can afford a new will likely end up buying a Chinese car for around the same money with the difference being that the Chinese cars will be properly put together than the Russian branded cars .I'm not saying the Chinese car brands are perfect far from it but they are certainly better than a Russian car brand that is still stuck in the days of Gorbachev and the former Soviet Union. The future of Russian car industry likely ending up like the Moscovitch brand that recently re emerged in Russia a copy of a Chinese brand ,so Lada and UAZ will probably go the same way making copies of Chinese cars with a large chunk of those companies ending up owned by the Chinese car companies. You ruskies can look at it this way at least a Chinese car will start first go and make it from A to B.

I've owned all of these cars. The really great thing he is not telling you is spare parts are incredibly cheap. About 1/4 of the price of pattern parts from Toyota or BMW. I don't replace my brake pads alone, I replace the discs and callipers and the brake pads for slightly more than the price of replacing brake pads on a western made car. You can also replace springs, shock absorbers, struts and keep the car driving like new for a fraction of the cost or doing the same on a BMW, Merc or Toyota.
that's the way to go, you can live without shiny things and the payments were not stuck in your throat. most important you are not forced to walk anymore.
One of my problems in life is that when I visited Russia, I met many Russians like this guy. Clever, funny, personable. That so many of these young men are in Ukraine committing slaughter and being slaughtered is unconscionable. A country with so much, so much future, so much to offer the world. What a lot of reviewers don’t say is that bukhanka (буханка), although so called due to its resemblance of the bread loaf, is really referencing the drinking culture. It’s from the word “bukhat’ “ (бухать), which means to get drunk. Because the bread in shape of a loaf was cheaper, that was usually the “go to” bread for drunks for “zakuska” (закуска). And because of this connection with drinkers the loaf of bread became known as “bukhanka”, bread of drinkers (roughly translated). So, drunk culture’s presence is strong in this car.

@@Kannot2023 There are areas of Australia that get pretty cold , but not Siberia cold. However heat wasn't the issue, the cars were just so poorly built. The Australian importer spent $2000 per car getting them to a state that was acceptable to Australian car buyers and even after that, they were still cr@p. QUOTE: "Sixty changes were required to make the Samara comply with Australian Design Rules before quality issues were even considered. The Samara was not bad looking, but even at 20 paces you could see the woeful nature of such things as body fit and colour matching, as well as the nastiness of the plastics used in the bumpers and grille. This writer composed a two-foolscap-page list of faults about the first example he drove. Everything that could squeak, did; many things that should have worked, didn't. And lots of things actually fell off."
You basically did a Tucker Carlson script if he had've seen this car. This was very funny watching from Canada. Thank you! 🤣 I like how all the trunk areas are designed so nobody can get out once they're in there. I'm hearing Yakof Smirnoff in my head: "In America, you drive car. In Soviet Russia, car drive you!!"
Being able to open the trunk from the inside is something that didn't come about until tons of accidents had already happened. This is the same story for pretty much all safety features found in new vehicles that are now standard... in countries that actually have safety standards! 😉
My '05 Lancer Wagon also doesn't have internal release for the hatchback trunk door, which is quite annoying when I'm camping in it... so it's not just a Russian thing.
When people say Soviet manufacture was poor quality, wait till they seen post-Soviet Russian manufacturing quality! State of the art!! Even the Chinese would blush.
I have never seen an engine inside a car before! I wonder what award they won for that design? You have over 1,200 likes!!! I saw it grow by 200 while watching the video. That was another first for me. I am so happy for you.
When I was in the army, I drove a UAZ 469. 2600cc 4x4 and in the winter it started only with a crank. It had outrageous fuel consumption, but overall not a bad car. I also drove a UAZ 452, which was an ambulance. Great times
A few decades ago I saw a Lada here in Canada as a neighbour had one and was impressed by the modern Russian technology. It was a tiny shoebox of a car that looked like it was outdated by half a century - but as the owner enthusiastically cited: it would always start even in the coldest of days. So yeah, I suppose Canadian car manufacturers would love to get their hands on Russian technology, seeing how we often can't start our cars when the temp drops to below -35C. Subscribed to your great channel - not only due to your fantastic presentation where you show us how far ahead Russian technology is compared to the rest of the world but mainly due to your helpers' handiwork. Evelina and her friend do fantastic work. Must see more of them!
You need an excellent reviewed battery with high cold Cranking amps, and a trickle charger. Add an engine block warmer and get winter oil, and you will be golden.
Lol bro yeah, I live in South Africa and I bought a brand new Russian karushki motorcycle in about 1986 and it vibrated so much I could not see the road or anything in the rear view mirrors because my eye balls vibrated so much 🤣, and had to reset the mirrors at every stop light and globes would always be fused because of the vibration too 😜, and the engine was part of the chassey because the front and back parts of the bike was mounted to the engine so if you took the engine out the bike was in 3 parts 👀, so I'm verry aware of the great Russian quality you guys have there, I wonder when the rest of the world will catch up to this great Russian tech ??? 🤣😂🤣🤣👌
The 'Loaf' reminds me of a 1960 - 1970's VW Bus. Only the VW Bus was higher quality with a molded vinyl interior and had no sharp surfaces to get yourself cut on. Ours didn't have air conditioning and it was HOT inside when we took it on our trips from Los Angeles to Iowa. The VW Bus was easier to get into and we had a standard stick shift. The VW Bus dashboard had more dials and a radio. The only thing to start aging on the VS Bus was the paint job. It was painted red and white. The red paint dulled under LA sunshine. The VW Bus had larger lights and chrome accents on the exterior. The doors were heavier and didn't bounce when you tried to close them like the UAZ van.
As you can see, I am Cuban and I love these cars, and during my 22 years in the army I drove almost all of them, from the zil 157, to this one, and you can't imagine the situations and accidents that happened. in particular with a Zil 131 and a UAZ
Here in the ex soviet countries we've had a lot of these, they are cheap for a reason. The build quality is truly terrible, gearboxes and engines fail all the time and it rusts past safe levels in like 4 years. So it's 15k for a car that might not start and rust like a tin can.
Buhanka is a great family van. I've seen Buhanka going through muddy ice easy peasy. In Telegram channels I saw Abrams tank unable to climb a snowy slope and British Challenger 2 tank stuck like sitting duck in Ukraine mud. Who you trying to kid, there are plenty of you tubers showing modern Buhanka, 4WD and luxury cars.

👍🇨🇦
You are hilarious! 😆 😂 Thanks for the laugh, Ivan!
One of my problems in life is that when I visited Russia, I met many Russians like this guy. Clever, funny, personable. That so many of these young men are in Ukraine committing slaughter and being slaughtered is unconscionable. A country with so much, so much future, so much to offer the world. Over burdened with paranoia, crazy leadership. Every simple vagary of international politics they interpret as an effort to destroy them. Horrible waste of civility.
A brand new subscriber here! Fresh from the USA 💪😁👍
I love your channel!! Your contents are quite ingenious and hilarious. I aim to enjoy every one of your videos and will always be looking for new ones. I really truly hope Vlad don't get wind of your channel, that would be disastrous.... 😮😢
Good luck and keep up the excellent work!! 👏

"drunk culture’s presence is strong in this car"??! We normal people call that "back-assward" logic, the type of logic preferred by crack-heads!
Ivan, awesome video. I loved all the luxury there and I still got a smile on my face minutes later :D thank you for this all. Cant wait to see the next video
I'm absolutely stunned these vehicles are in a show room and salespeople are expected to sell them.
They're work trucks! Maybe you didn't clue-in? Used by miners, geologists, oil-field techs. They have full-time AWD with a center diff. Maybe you should be commenting on girl's fashions instead?

Lada Samaras were sold in Australia from 1988 to 1994. They did not have a good reputation here.
Obviously they were designed for cold of Siberia not for heat of Australia. I doubt that Russians tested their cars in Australia
I like how simple it is nothing flashy
You basically did a Tucker Carlson script if he had've seen this car. This was very funny watching from Canada. Thank you! 🤣 I like how all the trunk areas are designed so nobody can get out once they're in there. I'm hearing Yakof Smirnoff in my head: "In America, you drive car. In Soviet Russia, car drive you!!"
🤣
Car drive you mad...
Yakov!!!!
I swear to God, this is my new favorite car content channel! 😅😅😅
Your a great salesman Vanya. I will take one of each.
This was used to be normal for panel vans, even outside Russia.
@@uranblut I am in the United States and I don't remember that.
@@DeniseDDS Basically all vans that have a very short "hood" :). Older Ford Econoline, Chevy Express, GMC Savana etc...
There are a lot of mid engine supercars, Ferrari 488, Audi r8, corvette just to name the few :)

When I was in the army, I drove a UAZ 469. 2600cc 4x4 and in the winter it started only with a crank. It had outrageous fuel consumption, but overall not a bad car. I also drove a UAZ 452, which was an ambulance. Great times
I can’t lie I love minimalism and simplicity. I wish we had a car company that made oil and electric vehicles that were this simple.
The loaf is 15k with 4 wheel drive and lockers . I want one if I go to Russia that’s what I will rent .
In 2024 they're still producing the Scooby-Doo van, very impressive 😊
I like it, It is cute just that build quality obviously sucks
How do you say 'tongue in cheek' in Russian...thanks for putting a smile on my face Ivan !
i would rather pay 15000 for that then 90000 for a ford f 150
fact
Thank you from Australia Ivan you are great
This inverted windows for ram air were actually awesome. They used to come on all the pickups/Lorries in the 70s-90s..
Frednel, you should stop doing drugs!
I actually had to clean off my screen after the "Captain goes down with the ship". Fucking LOL.
lmao. that one got me too! "...if the UAZ goes down, you go down with it" 🤣
That minimalist interior. Very desirable. Not cluttered with all the modern accoutrements, just the necessities!
"If the UAZ goes down. you go down wit it" Gold!
Tucker Carlson should Just move into Putin's Mega Mansion with his own State News desk
@@Domination1606 Don't you guys mean Fucker Carlson?
Maybe UAZ is a VW van knock off. Lada is based on Fiat
@@Kannot2023 Maybe it's not! What are you smoking, Kannot?
Ivan has really raised the comedy factor in the last couple of months
Dude I bet you’re the best Russian stick man out there. Love the jacket!
As you can see, I am Cuban and I love these cars, and during my 22 years in the army I drove almost all of them, from the zil 157, to this one, and you can't imagine the situations and accidents that happened. in particular with a Zil 131 and a UAZ
I guess Cuba should have stayed with American cars?
He’s got the freedom of take a shit of speech in Russia,
Got to be honest with you Ivan. If that green van or black jeep was available here in the US for $15,000, I would buy one. Kinda nostalgic for sure.
Here in the ex soviet countries we've had a lot of these, they are cheap for a reason. The build quality is truly terrible, gearboxes and engines fail all the time and it rusts past safe levels in like 4 years. So it's 15k for a car that might not start and rust like a tin can.
Id buy one too. That van is so useful idc how crap the fit and finish is
We need simple cars, cheap, not this over electric. Thank you Russia.
I have a question from Boris, currently stationed in Luhansk: " how many toilets can you fit in the back?".
How many toilets does a child-molester need?
Buhanka is a great family van. I've seen Buhanka going through muddy ice easy peasy. In Telegram channels I saw Abrams tank unable to climb a snowy slope and British Challenger 2 tank stuck like sitting duck in Ukraine mud. Who you trying to kid, there are plenty of you tubers showing modern Buhanka, 4WD and luxury cars.
No Ivan
More of evalinas friend please 😮
I love that UAZ loaf! I wish they would come to North America. I remember when LADA's romed the streets here in the 70's and 80's
That UAZ would be a collector's item here in the States :)
Understatement at it's best. 😀 But actually, I kind of like it (except for the engine being inside the passenger area).
No need for airbag real man dies in his car…famous Russian proverb
What a cool investigation of what is out there made in mother Russia. Didn´t know there was still russian cars. We used to have LADAs in the 80´s and early 90´s. They are no more.
The seatbelt as door safety mechanism killed me

Oh and it had the same exact annoying thing. Sunvisors kept dropping down 😭
