#ghostin'- This is absolutely true- I saw it coming up in a mother chapter during an era when that chapter pretty much ran everything as we saw fit - "mother knows best"- we (in the mother chapter) called other people mother haters. Years later, I transferred to a newer chapter out-of-state. I got to see first hand the animosity and the good reasons that hate was there. Also, there is no one left from the founders in the mother chapter- the club is over 30 years old- the few remaining original members that are still involved with the club have moved to other chapters. Now those days are mostly over, and only exist in stories about "how it used to be" by people who have been around for many years. Basically, we grew out of it as mother's offspring "grew up". Now, the pressure is on that mother chapter to be held accountable to uphold the highest standards - the do as I say not as I do thing isn't working any more, so someone who patched into the 30+ year old mother chapter a year ago has no sway over someone in another place who patched 3 years ago. As it should be. So now the mother chapter is recognized at anniversary parties (as they should be) and noted for their awesome clubhouse- which should be awesome- they have had decades to get it right.

good insights here as usual, I'm in a club in Australia, and see this in general as clubs grow bigger they become harder to manage as the fact is that it is the individual personalities of bikers that pulls them into a club and then those individual personalities that pulls them apart

@@rj42074 laws are different in all states but fact is can longer fly club colors cops will arrest you, however people are still allowed to ride in groups so now dumb ass cops don't know who's who anymore however they do have smart cars that can read and identify your license tags, so that pos up who you are they an stop you and arrest you for associating....fucked up
#I believe that rules and guidelines set out by founders of organizations are key in maintaining the groups integrity and goals. That being said there are different situations that call for different approaches. Much respect brother Sose another great one!

Always NYC, but I feel the nationals keep the club in check, mother house is important though and gets the utmost respect because they’re usually og members! But the nationals call the final shots! I’m a wife of a ranked officer he’s not outta their mother house though! I would love to see you talk about mandatory events, bringing wives around, and many other topics! I know the wives I like some, some I couldn’t care less about. But we don’t wear property of so it’s hard sometimes to figure out the ladies place in a members life I’m not familiar with.

Club started 1963 in Berdoo. Mother chapter for years. In the 90s chapter in Conn. became Mother Chapter.
Personal I can't see it myself.
But that's the way things are today.

Welcome back. My present experience with members in a mother chapter. I know the history of those who started that charter, but alot of those mother chapter members this present day had no hand in the blood, sweat and tears of starting that particular charter but their arrogance of just being in a mother chapter shows. They just have the luck of living in that certain area or neighborhood which mother is situated in.

Honoring the past wasn't on my mind but today, today, I get it completely. It's funny because the growth attained is so impressive and slick to me and I look at the expansion as a mission statement of sorts, in the club and in life. I always fondly recollect the system and model for success. When I need an inspiration for business, I look at the Mother CHARTER. Silly of me but beneficial nonetheless. Have a blessed week 🙏🏻😇✨

Great video, Sose! You were spot on about how the Mother Chapter should get the respect for breaking ground and starting a Club or if they move out to another State and start up in a new A/O. I had to laugh when you mentioned how some newbies get out of line when they try to flex on a older Brother because they are now in the Mother Chapter and that older Brother isn’t. We ran into that in my old Club and there was a lot of heartburn over it. You are doing our culture a huge solid by passing on the info that you do! Going back to WW2, those clubs were founded by veterans. About 20 years later those guys started ageing out and were replaced by Vietnam veterans who had a different viewpoint.
Harley-Davidson, along with other manufacturers, are watching the Baby Boomers age out of buying their products, and are trying to figure out how to survive because what used to be their core demographic isn't interested in riding motorcycles.

You said it in there. And I’ll say I only have experience with smaller clubs. No big names. But when the Mother comes around it’s almost like the White House staff showing up at a branch office. Tory have the final word. No matter what you have set up or already in place it’s like they’re scrutinizing everything and any um business partnerships you’ve cultivated or set up can just be tossed out the window on one persons dislike. Things you’ve worked years to make happen can disappear in a second. You have to watch every word you say for fear of disrespecting the people that made your world and family a reality. Some people don’t deal with that well. Some people like you said walk in like that own the world cause they have to mother city on their cut.

Never been in a club but have over twenty years of military service. Due to that I can attest to there existing a mindset that central authority holds all real power and anyone in a position of authority outside of that center derives their power from that source. This is far from a new concept as, in many ways it’s basically feudalism; the king rules all and owns everything but can’t be everywhere at once. Therefore certain people are given authority over an area which is usually too big for them to effectively control so they appoint people to work under them, dividing the territory they’ve authority over further.
Eventually this gets down to the very localized area and what you have is a pyramidal hierarchy. All of this is based entirely on trust, invariably including oaths or vows of some sort; it’s all about loyalty.
Now, as I originally stated, I’ve never been in any kind of motorcycle club. For that reason I won’t pretend to understand all of the dynamics, nuances and politics that go into that life. What I will say is this: If you wear the patch, just like I wore a uniform you maintain loyalty. If you disagree with something broach the subject with leadership in a respectful manner, don’t beef with an individual! Chains of command exist for a reason, use them! I’ve known many individuals who thought holding a particular rank or position of authority, sometimes even extremely temporary positions who tried to or did abuse the trust they were given. I’ve nodded along unless their orders were blatantly illegal until I could speak to someone able to check the abusive person or persons. This keeps the peace inside the organization as a whole, avoiding factionalism and bad blood.
Anyway, still #GHOSTIN and that’s my two cents worth.

Can you talk about when a club forcibly retires you, what does that mean, what causes a club to forcibly retire its members
Sometimes they see you as not an asset and your over the hill to them so they dont want to kick you out

It's getting crazy out here. A dude I went to school with is a sheriff now and he jst said he's going after clubs..we dnt even have many up here in the north east..I've never even seen one..not to say there not around..it's jst not an issue...damn politics
