  • There was a wild fire on the island of Murter, Croatia. The extensive fire was extinguished by 30 firefighters with 11 vehicles from Šibenik, Vodice, Pirovac and Tisno. Air support was provided by three Canadair CL-415 aircraft and two AirTractor AT-802 aircraft.
    Big kudos to all the firefighters and pilots who fought the fire!

    I have seen a lot videos with these CL-215 and 415, great pilot skills, but this is undoubtable one of the best. You were standing on a perfect spot, the wheather was great and there was never too much smoke, thank you.

      That's soo much,but apparently our croatian government is fighting some different battle since they spent approximately 1 billion on fighter jet squadron.
      Meanwhile croatia is dealing with multiple bush/forest fires multiple times a year every year.

      So what's your point exactly? We shouldn't have an airforce perhaps?
      And that multiple, if you consider an average 3000 wildfires a year multiple, then yes.
      Btw did you perhaps notice how many fighter jets does greece have or turkey? Many times more than we do, more canadairs too, at least double the number than we have, and what is the result every season? They are rekt with fires and we send our planes to help them, not the other way around, i'm 51 y.o. can't recall one time we requested foreign help with firefighter, can't recall one year when wd didn't provide it to other countries.
      Maybe better go comment on football or some serbian reality ahow, don't talk about things you don't have even the basic grasp of.
      Also 35 million is not much for a two engine water bomber of that capacity and reliability, it's a one of a kind specialty tool.

    Beaucoup moins efficace que un sikorsky s64

    • @makantahi3731
      @makantahi3731 Місяць тому +2

      much more efficient than s64 because it can take and drop more water in time units, especially if the water is far from the fire

    • @iz_no_good
      @iz_no_good Місяць тому

      @@makantahi3731It really depends on the geography. i was unfortunate enough to experience traktors/CL-415/S64/Beriev at 2 large wildfires in Athens the last years, and S64 were - imo - the most efficient. I read their payload is double (!) the Canadair's, and had a turnaround time of ~ 7 mins (obviously fire dept had prepared several reload spots in the area).

    • @makantahi3731
      @makantahi3731 Місяць тому +2

      @@iz_no_good I don't agree with everything: the s64 does not have double the water capacity of water: 10/6.3tons, the cl415 fills the water in 12 seconds while gliding with at least 100kt, how much does the s64 need to fill the water?, the extinguishing effect is greater if the water is thrown at a high speed than if the helicopter almost hovers over the fire and the most important thing is that you should have so many craft that water can be thrown every 10-15 seconds at the same place

    • @iz_no_good
      @iz_no_good Місяць тому

      @@makantahi3731 the effectiveness of one aircraft over the other is conditional... Canadair maybe scooping quicker (not a significant factor imo anyway, a few more seconds dont make much of a difference if the whole trip takes 10 vs 20 minutes) but in rough seas, they will just sit at base or go for other water source further away. Good point for the inertia of the drop, but the counter argument is that S64 can hover and make a more accurate drop in spots Canadair cant target/reach well. To conclude, both are great machines, ideally a firefighting fleet should have both types for different situations.

    • @makantahi3731
      @makantahi3731 Місяць тому +1

      @@iz_no_good how long does the s64 need to fill the water, for sure the minutes are in the game, the cl415 12 seconds, also the cl415 flies faster so it will fly the distance between the water and the fire sooner. if the sea is rough, it means that there is a strong wind, so then even the s64 will not be able to fly. extinguishing fires from hovering makes sense if buildings are burning, e.g. houses, factories, so it should be watered in one place, not if large areas are burning - forests, meadows,
