I have a 2005 cobalt. It wouldnt crank or start at all. I would put the key in and the dash would lit up, stereo wouldnt work but it wouldnt start or crank at all. Here is one thing that everyone needs to look at when your trouble shooting their problems. I figured out why mine wont start. Here it is: there is a red(color of my fuse)50amp fuse in the back of the car by the battery. that fuse is connected to your battery. I took the black tape off the fuse and i tried to remove the fuse out of the socket. I stuggled to take the fuse out but i was able to remove it. When i removed the fuse, alot of white dust came out and one of the tooth of the fuse was stuck in the socket. There was alot of battery corrosion on that fuse and on the fuse itself and inside the fuse, and it was thick. I cut both red wires that lead to that fuse socket(to replace everything new) and I went to my local autozone(2 blocks away) and i bought a new 50 amp fuse and one of the guys picked out new connectors for that fuse. i was able to put together the new fuse along with the new clamps and i was able to twist the wires back together that i cut before and taped them with black electrical tape. As soon as i was able to finish doing that, I got my keys and went inside the car and tried to start. It immediately cranked up, stereo was working again, and it started. SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR REAR FUSE AND WIRES to make sure there is no corrosion on that fuse. Alot of people tend to over look that fuse. Its just like a battery, if it has corrosion, that corrosion prevents your car from starting up. Hope this helps alot of you who own cobalts. Thanks
I appreciate you taking the time to make this video but the situation here is that we all want you to hurry up and get to the point! Also the screen loop over and over and over again is weird.
Clean all grounding contacts, battery cables, starter wires to remove corrosion or it’ll just destroy ur starter again way to soon. Also ground ur pcm it makes a world of a difference. I had so many problems and been chasing codes and watching videos on UA-cam but grounding the pcm will fix so many issues and it’s $10 worth of parts u can get at any part store. Good luck
while working in Stockton that happened to me 😖 mine was showing the anti theft system light plugged in the scanner and no communication with computer and we bumped the starter and it was still working. 90 minutes of reprogramming key it disarmed the anti theft system . So I’m on I 99 🤬towards Sacramento and the car just shut off! OMG I have no power break or steering. Apparently they have a recall on the ignition cylinder and 13 people have died.
Anyone fixed this issue??Having the same issue for a week. I replaced my battery and fuel pump. Idk if tits the starter but I’m sure it’s not the alternator..

It would help if u had oil...
You gotta manually reset the oil life, if you’re lazy you leave it at 0 it doesn’t matter
