I imagine this song sort of plays as an (un)cathartic breaking point; whatever theme the layer originally had begins to crumble as the realization hits that you are actualy legitimately nearing your demise
I've always loved the concept of final zones. Mechanic wise, they'll always try to test one last time the skills you've learned across your journey to see if you can beat the final challenge. Story wise, it's supposed to be the culmination of all, an end to story you've built. ¿aren't you happy to get your objective done? Not in Ultrakill, you've just been prolonging your inevitable end, your demise. But you won't be able to do that anymore, not soon. ¿At what cost you've just destroyed the last vestiges of humanity? ¿Were all of these worth it? Whatever your answer is, you cannot undo what you have done, ending all wars, as your creators always wanted.
This is pretty good! I very much like the composition a lot. The mix on the combat version could use a little work but it's not bad by any means. The leads could use some effects like a little bit of reverb and/or delay but they're not bad either, they just need a little more life. The guitar being mono is kinda off-putting, in fact, the mix sounds pretty mono. Some spacing work could benefit it a lot. Anyway, good job on this
"Field of gold, speak to me. Have the children I've sent to war made it back? Have their mothers gone without sons and daughters long enough? Have their profits done enough? I beg for their forgiveness. I beg, God. I pled. I pled for you to answer. If I had known this was the outcome of my actions, then I wouldn't have made judgement in leadership. It tears me apart more then the rain, more than the lies I conjured for the sake of my own benefit. Give me a second chance, and perhaps see this through. You have my word." *remaining text irrelevant*
Sorry but I got bored so I did a few tweaks "Field of gold, speak to me. Have the children I sent to war returned? Have their mothers endured the loss of their sons and daughters for too long? Have their sacrifices and profits amounted to anything? I beg for their forgiveness. I beg, God. I pleaded. I pleaded for you to answer. If I had known the outcome of my actions, I would have never assumed the mantle of leadership. This torment tears at me more than the relentless rain, more than the lies I wove for my own gain. Grant me a second chance, and perhaps I can rectify this. You have my word." REMAINING TEXT: IRRELEVANT.
If I had to describe the vibe of this song, it would be hopeful in the sense that V1 could recover the decayed and crumbing world above, but hopeless in the sense that V1 wouldn't even bother.
Machine, you are now clean, these guts from your stained hands have been wiped off, the blood from your visor has been washed away, you may rest. But tell me Machine, why do you seek hardship? Why is it that you want blood, do you tend to stay dirty? If so, be my guest, hell is dying anyway…
One of the best Ultrakill fan musics that I have ever heard, the piano and the trumpet (or saxophone idk) are so nice to listen to. The beat and the piano sound oddly similar to the ones from the ost "The Midnight Train" from the game "A Dance of Fire and Ice", it makes me wonder if it was just a coincidence or intentional.
I have absolutely no idea what fraud's boss could be so 8-4 is unlikely but i will probably come up with some bonus fraud songs that would work for regular levels
I don't know what the ducks happen or what the duck you were on but this song is amazing and I have listened to it while writing, while reading various books (and it vibes so well with them at just like all point) and now I've listen to just this song on loop for the last 7 hours. I absolutely love this! This song feels both so emotional and more. Its super amazing and I don't even want an extended version (tho I would be happy to see one lel) because it loops so well! Like seriously the beginning of the song is such a great rest moment for the rest of it! Playing it on loop means I hear it as if it were the 'middle' of the song and gives me time to 'breathe' while listening to the more emotional parts. And idk, I like this song so much! Fantastic!
9-2 idea: Make the entire thing like the beginning +slowly lower the graphics quality mid level until it's just nonsense. (cuz y'know saving power and stuff) and basically have the player character shut down just before the level exit.
does this soundtrack have copyright? I want to use it in a video, indicating the author and providing a link to the original, if of course you agree to use.
Wait is there a score? I am at a facility with an old piano, and I started playing the opening from ear but it’d be really cool if I could play the whole thing.
again, you can use this in custom levels but please please credit me somewhere
careful, you should pin this comment
also nice work on the art and music!
absolutely mayn you not getting recognized for this would be criminal
i just appeciate how well it loops by itself
and also goves off TBOI/I.RULE vibes

Thanks for the criticism! "I said and grinned" was my biggest inspiration for this track, among other things

easily my new favorite unofficial soundtrack oh my god

@ColonelOrkog there probably was some subconscious inspiration since that levels song was stuck in my head while i was composing this lol
@@quivel_m That subconcious inspiration really helped you create some serious fire, keep up with the great work!
wow this is actually great, good groove and a nice lofi-sound to it, tragic asf while not leaving all its focus on said sad
love it
Sounds like it should have the lyrics of daisy bell playing over it at parts, good work mate
This song is like the song "Guts" (3-1 theme #1) in the sense that the battle theme doesn't differ much from the calm theme
Why its soo addictive? Keep up a good work man!
