Great video, tnx Would you explain HOW to create that leitner schedule table?!?! What is the logic or formula behind that? And What are those numbers (6.1 & ...) on the top-right of your cards??
I made a video to show you the schedule and calendar. You'll find it here on my channel. It's called "Intro to the Leitner Calendar and Schedule". You can disregard the 6.1 notations in the top corners because those are the chapters from the Langenscheidt vocabulary text where that word comes from.
Hallo Ashkan! The Leitner schedule is available on the Internet or you can get access to all my German teaching tools at www.timetolearngerman.com The numbers at the top of the cards are only for my own students, as they match the lists of vocabulary that I assign to them.
Hello great video. I need help over here: what is new level, or what difference between new level and level 1? Is Day 1 in the calendar for the first day i start to learn and create new first cards or the 1st review day? Do The new daily created cards go to new level or level 1? What if i want to rest every Sundays? Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the video. I have some questions on this variation of Leitner's: 1. How can you ever "win the game" if you keep adding cards every day and they have to go through 7 levels? 2. Cards will no have the same chances to be memorized. Cards added on day 1 have 64 chances to be seen, cards added on day 64 are only seen once. 3. Why does the schedule ask you to review cards from deck 2 on day 1 or from deck 3 on day 2, if those will always be empty? I would be great if you could clarify all this. Thanks!
Hi Pablo López-García! Let me start with some clarifications: ALL cards start in Level 1- none of them start anywhere else. All cards must move from 1-7 one level at a time and only on the days they are listed on the schedule. Once a card has made it out of level 7 it is permanently memorized. No need to ever practice it with a card, just use it in your speaking and writing.
Pablo López-García: "winning" does not mean you have no more cards, it means each card has worked its way from level 1 through level 7 and is now not in the game anymore because it has been memorized.
Pablo López-García: The schedule begins with level 2 because it is used over and over. Only the very first time that you play you won't have any cards in level 2. But on your second day of playing you will probably have at least one card in level 2.
Hallo Avi! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed this video about how I use the Leitner flashcard system. All my German materials are found at www.timetolearngerman.com or you can do a Google search for the Leitner schedule. Good luck to you with your studies :)
+MrBPM75 I would not want to make an identical set of cards, and by the time the card makes it to level 7 you would know the word perfectly in both directions. If you don't find that to be true, then flip the card over to the opposite side when it gets to level 7. If you don't get it correct when it comes due for practice then I would put it back in level 1 facing the language you want to practice.
+John Goomishian Your situation isn't ideal for the long-term purposes this system was invented for. But I suggest simply adjust for that, dividing the ratios between the Leitner time increments to suit your time crunch? Your results will be skewed by your time pressure.
Language Fan That is a nice way to say you cant learn a language in 10 days! I have been going on for about 10 days and learnt about 100 odd words, but not even properly. At a rate of 10 new words per day it would take me 6 months to learn 1300 words and basic phrases.... atleast I hope so.
If you need to practice 30 minutes every day for 64 days, then logically you would need to practice 3 hours and 12 minutes every day for 10 days - divided into 32 minutes sessions - so 32 minutes 6.am, 32 minutes 9am, 32 minutes at noon, 32 minutes 3pm, 32 minutes 6 pm and 32 minutes 9 pm. Follow the schedule for 64 days with these 64 study sessions, and you should be ok. Now the memory doesn't quite work as mathematically as this, so you might not be able to learn quite as many words as well when you cram all the information in 10 days, but that's the risk you are taking.
I don’t understand on day one it say level 1, day 2 say level 3. I know you won’t have any cards in level 3. But day 4 say level 4, but you won’t have anything in level 4. Day 1- level 1 Day 2- level 2, level 1 Day 3- level 3, level 1 Day 4- level 4, level 1 Day 5- level 2, level 1 Day 6- level 3, level 1 Day 7- level 2, level 1 Is this correct?
Courtney Hudson the levels are only empty during the first cycle of 65 days ( 2 months). When you have an empty level scheduled for a day, you don’t need to study anything :)
"30mins each day has to be done at the same time" so for example if I learned at noon on the first day, i have to learn them again at noon on the next days? or is it ok if i learn this for 30mins each day in different times? thanks before :)
+Marcia Juvanie Chang You don't HAVE TO, but if you want to create a habit of practicing regularly and not forgetting, then doing them during the same time in your daily routine will make it more likely you will do it each day. If you want to set yourself a reminder on your phone each day for your practice, that would also work.
+Marcia Juvanie Chang Did you see that I posted all the information about this game under the video? You could copy and paste that somewhere and print it.
Marwan Hisham This principle is from a book called “Fluent Forever” that I’ve used to learn multiple languages. I totally recommend the book. The book explains it way better. After reading the book you will be speaking your target language in no time.
Great video, tnx

Look through the comments. A user name “EvaBogardFlorida” clarified some of your questions.
Thanks!@@absbi0000
isn't it better to create a mnemonic or a drawing on the back side of the card rather than a direct translation?
Thank you so much ❤

@@EvaBogardFlorida Than you very much for your explanation
Great video! Where can I get the learning schedule from ? Kindly help me with repetition timings. Thankyou

How do you make cards for English-German and German-English? Do you have two lietner boxes? Or do you do both pass when reviewing?

what if i have done all the cards in the first deck? technically i have no level 1 cards and i have no level 3 cards, what should i do then?
"Everyday you must add 15/30 new cards to your game. "
Ketutar Jensen i see, thank you for the answers!
what if I only have ten days to memorize?
+John Goomishian Then you started too late...

Btw do you have any papers to explain this video? Coz i need a written proof for these theories to use for my thesis
+Marcia Juvanie Chang Nope. No papers to explain what you already see.If you want the calendar and the sequence chart, those are available online.

i dont know but it would take too much time for me to learn this method...i would just go straight learning the language.
It sounds top difficult
exzellent
ı dont understand ı hate myself Im crying now fuck
too complicated, understanding this method is harder than learning a new language lol
