Fun Paraguay facts! Paraguay went to war against Bolivia from 1932 to 1935 over the Gran Chaco. Despite Bolivia having superior equipment and numbers (by the end of the war, Paraguayan units had more captured bolivian equipment than they did of their own), the Paraguayans wiped the floor with Bolivia mostly due to their leaders, who made an extensive network of logistical support and stormtropper tactics learned from observing the great war.
And then they went on to conquer China! 🇹🇼
Also something else that helped us to win was the absolute self sabotage the General Hans Kundt performed. He is known to have assaulted the strongest position all throughout the battle of Boquerón. Costing the Bolivians insane numbers while allowing Paraguayan forces to breathe.

While I have some things to look forward to in the long term -such as a new video game coming out or graduating and finally being able to work at a job that does not make me work 6 days and 10+ hours for minimum wage- I have nothing else to look forward to on a daily basis except ISP's A2Z HoI4 videos. While other content creators for HoI4 are good too, none of them are as good as ISP, at least for me. So thank you ISP, for bringing a little joy to this miserable NPC.

Francisco Solano López was not a dictator! He is the greatest national hero of Paraguay, the date of his birth is celebrated as Paraguayan Army Day and the date of his death is Heroes' Day, which is a national holiday.

Historically, Paraguay did invade (correction: Bolivia started it) Bolivia in the 1930s. It's called the Chaco War.
It also fought the War of the Triple Alliance against Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay in the 1860s, possibly losing 70% of its population.

Thank you for all the corrections. I was thinking later because I knew a US President had brokered a peace deal there, but i had the wrong one. It was Rutherford Hayes, but that was also after the war ended.
My mistake with the invasion, too. Bolivia started the war, but it was also disputed territory at the time, and Paraguay won the war and most of the Chaco. I could have said "conquered," but that also depends on disputing who owned it before the war. I just saw ISP fighting Bolivia and thought it matched.

The War began because of the Bolivian military commanders who decided to attack Paraguayan forts without even notifying their President, forcing Bolivia into a war, which in the end with twice less economy and army, Paraguay ended up winning. PS: I am Paraguayan.

Paraguay once decided to try fighting off the three surrounding countries at once. they lost. Then they had the funniest war (outside of african civil wars) in history with bolivia, and won the chaco, which is two thirds of the country and has maybe one percent of the population because of how wonderfully livable it is.
We didn't just "decide" as if it was out of nowhere. There is a fuck ton of context and prelude as well as escalation overall.
