Thank you for expressing concern for the Canadians affected by these wildfires. It’s been quite devastating for so many people and their animals. 🇨🇦
I hope the situation there is improving. I know New Zealand has sent some of our firefighters over there to help.
Thanks for another lovely podcast Lisa, I thoroughly enjoyed the interview with Gayle, those blankets are spectacular 😊
They really are special, and she is such a talented crafter.
Your Lovenote is beautiful Lisa and the fit is perfect I think I will have to do another Lovenote The interview with Gayle I really enjoyed such beautiful blankets would love to give them a go but like you busy with my knitting and embroidery
Looking forward to Woolfeast I’ll see you there
Thank you Karen, wasn't woolfeast a blast.
Thank you for another inspiring podcast. I particularly enjoyed your interview with Gail. She is an amazing knitting tutorial as well as a crochet one. Love your new colours too. Got me a few ideas❤
Thank you. Gayle is really a great teacher.
What a great episode Lisa. Wonderful that you share a local store and Gayle was great, beautiful crochet blankets. Love the wips and the cast ons that we will see soon I’m sure! Hope the next weekend goes well and will look forward to the podcast all about it. Love note is a great pattern....world wide and has been done by so many, awesome. See you next time. Thanks again from over here in Aus. 😊
Thank you so much! and thank you for supporting my podcast. This love note wont be my last i know that for sure.
While I cannot crochet, I enjoyed seeing the beautiful blankets! It was a lovely interview. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely podcast, love, love your black Lovenote, it looks so good on you Lisa. Great knits you have planned. Fabulous crochet and wonderful colours.I enjoyed listening to Gayle.I would love to come down to Christchurch for woolfest, what a treat that would be. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
did you get down to Christchurch,? i met so many people and it was so busy, it took a few days to come down from the high.
Lisa, thank you for this episode! Your Misurina is going to be beautiful and I am happy that my color choice could inspire you 😊 It was interesting to see the crochet segment and now you have my wanting to work on a very old WIP crochet blanket that I started years ago. It is the Mandala pattern, so a round blanket….hmmm, so little time! Have a lovely week.
@thetangledstitch I also have the Mandala pattern which I started some years ago, LOL 😂. I hope to finish it some time!!
Thank you, i'm so close to finishing my Misurina so will show you my progress on my next podcast, hoping to record it tomorrow.
Thank you so much for your concern over the wildfires in Canada and the US. Where we are we have experienced smoky conditions and air is not clear. Fires are a bit to the North and East of us. I really enjoyed your podcast today. Look forward to seeing your progress on the Andrea Mowry sweater. I love the colours you have chosen.
I hope the situation there is improving. I know New Zealand has sent some of our firefighters over there to help. I hope to cast on my second Stripes Sweater by Andrea this week all going well. I hope the air clears soon.
Hello! Love your black love note!!!! Well done. Looks so good.
Thank you, i'm really pleased with it and i'm sure it won't be my last.
Really enjoy this podcast, love that you have guest speaker and looking at your gorgeous coloured wool. I'll see you at knitfeast Christchurch 💜
Thank you, i hope i got to meet you, it was so busy and i got to meet so many people. It took me a few days to come down from the high.
those blankets are so beautiful ! xxx
Yes they are. Gayle is so talented.
Thank you for another great informative podcast Lisa, I crocheted for quite a few years before returning to knitting- have made lots of beautiful blankets but then last year I made a knitted cable blanket in a KAL with Stylecraft and Stuart Hilliard and that sparked my interest in knitting again😀 Enjoyed your shop update and there’s a beautiful new pale pink high twist skein that has my name all over it🌸🌸
You are so welcome! and the high twist is my all time favourite.
Great podcast as usual
Thank you
So beautiful afghans !
yeh
Loved the crochet, I've done 2 of Jamie Crow's other patterns... and in answer to the Ravelry question... a number of her designs are there now.
Thank you.
For your ‘next’ Misurina, check out “ladderback jacquard” method of catching floats with colorwork. I’ve done it on my Misurinas and Alaska hats. It looks complicated but it’s a lot like double knitting. It creates a open webbing on the back and doesn’t show thru to the front. ( I’ve been watching all your past videos and seem to be flooding you with comments 😅)
Hi Nancy, thank you for sharing. I will look up the Ladder Back Jacquard method.
Love your black love note jumper Lisa. I am crocheting a Janie Crow blanket at the moe, it is Mystical Lanterns. Her patterns are beautiful.
Thank you Mal, i hope you post a photo of your Janie Crow on the facebook page, i would love to see it.
I know you will love Gayle’s jumper because it has bobbles!!! So nice to have a crochet teacher and fan of crochet! Thank you!
I have put the Corbis sweater on my watchlist. It really is a lovely sweater. The crochet blankets are really beautiful.
This is so weird in the winter here when I am literally freezing I see you in summer type tops and now that I am sweltering in heat I am really not used to I see you in wintry items..From Canada
I know, with the internet the world is such a small place, yet you are still so far away, enjoy your summer. it's my favorite season.
@@UnwindandKnitwithMe thank you
Your Lovenote is gorgeous Lisa. It's been on my radar for ages. Might have to move it up the queue. Oh my goodness those crochet blankets. Absolutely beautiful. Soooo excited to visit Handzon when I'm in Rangiora next March, and yourself as well! Thank you for a really enjoyable podcast.
Your welcome, i do hope you visit when your here next. and you really should cast on a love note.
I try to make some summerknits, you inspired me to make the Misurina, I have a skirt, I think will be a perfect match.
Got a lot of Janie Crows….in my ravelry, not sure if I bought them through ravelry, ….I think so, i simply love crochet and her designs, because you can put them together. Only the borders are long stretches.
All in acrylic and the hold up very well. I use them all the time. At the moment I use my summer fruit garden if it is getting chilly in the evening. I made 3…. It is such a rewarding
“ I made that” peace of work. Brought me a lot of joy.
wow, i'm envious. I would love to try a Janie Crows oneday. you must be a very patient person as they require so much work. I hope you the Misurina as much as i love mine.
Enjoyed all of your inspiring podcast. Lovely to see the Fruits blanket by Janie Crow. A crochet hobby might have to be in the 5-10 year plan!!
It in my 10 year plan. if only we had more crafting hours in a day.
Great to see Gayle. It has been a long time since we crossed paths .... back in the day she used to be a dog groomer & I was vet nursing at a clinic in Parklands. See you next week at Woolfeast Lisa.
It's a small world. I hope i got to say hello to you at Woolfeast, it was so busy.
@@UnwindandKnitwithMe you were sooo busy. We did exchange smiles though. Was a fabulous day!
Acrylic is a petrochemical derivative and absolutely horrific for sustainability. Think about the landfill 😱. Wool can be washed by hand or put in the washing machine on the wool cycle ensuring a temperature of 30 degrees or less is selected. If you wash wool by hand it can be spun dry using the washing machine spin cycle. I’m unsure why the knitting and crochet communities are not proactively supportive of the small changes needed to ensure we can ALL reach the targets needed for climate change targets to be reached. Please think about using viable natural alternatives.
Thank you Christine i completely understand and support what you are saying as im very passionate about wool and the environment. Handzon do a kit for those blankets in 100% wool but unfortunately they are over $700.. I really wanted to showcast the beautiful blankets but also wanted to offer more affordable substitutes. I will be more mindful in future to stay true to wool products.
@@UnwindandKnitwithMe I’m so grateful for your feedback and I really love your podcast. I understand the dilemma. I know there are some things that are just out of my reach now I’m not in (paid) work! I’m ok with that. I just save up for the bigger items or admire them from afar 🫣. I’m usually quite reticent to comment because it’s not spoken of and I just think I should speak up for our world, our islands and nature. Thank you so much for your reply. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I discovered Gayle's jumper was the Corbis sweater by Natasja Hornby @moonstruckknits.
😊
yes the Corbis is on my list also
