I went to this place in 1998 which is situated in Appalachian mountain a (beautiful mountainous area ) very remote area 20 years ago in west Virginia, it was built in 70's by hare Krishna movement (prabupada) famous at that time ,Now the golden temple is not maintained properly, and falling apart. all the gold covering are damaged. the surroundings I think it is about 200 acres are in bad condition,
it was done when Beatles joined hare Krishna movement and lot of money came in from rich white guys who want to spend their wealth in a meaningful way but the management screw it up .now in 1997 when I visited there were no people in bad shape. but the mountainside is beautiful in the summertime only.
