Well this show is a mainly a comedy show, so the host's intention is not really to "go anywhere" with his interviews, but to make them funny and unconventional. I guess that's why he asked further questions about "bird disease" and why he played the ukulele. That may seem weird to some people, but I personally find it more interesting than an interview with questions that have already been asked a thousand time before..

well,I don't know much about the show or the Host ( he seemed a nice enough bloke ) but he just didn't go anywhere with the interview,,the problem was he took throw-away answers too literally and wanted explanations to comments that didn't warrent it ! ( the problem is he is not a native English speaker so didn't understand the "drift of the conversation") not his fault of course, but in the end it was just 6 mins of nothing,,Chris Martin didn't help matters either,,Jonny just looked embarressed
