Board shape really looks great, but like with all mini simmons you see the surfer takes off and when he should do a turn, he looses balance for a split second, then regains and goes straight.
Hey dude! Awesome stuff. I read your blogs! But hey I'm in the middle of an xps build myself. Any delam problems with your xps builds? If so what could you have done differently and if not what do you think helped? Thanks Congrats on the baby!
+Zach Wenrich Wassup Zach, my boards seem to be holdin up fine, i know a lot of people think xps delams, but a lot of guys on swaylocks.com as well seem to have no problems. only thing you might look into is a vented leash plug just to be on the safe side. look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Thanks man! Im really amped to get this thing finished. For your last xps I saw that you painted the blank before glassing. What grit did you leave the board before you painted it. Did epoxy seem to grab pretty well to that painted surface? I have heard some people poke small holes in the finished glass for venting. Did you do anything like that? So your in SC...any cheap sources you know for blanks. Im in Pa. Thanks again.
I think I used about 100 grit and thinned the paint down with water. Didn't poke any holes.... Just recently got to know a local shaper 40 min away and he can Hotwire out eps blanks for $50 and also sells regular poly blanks. An hour north in Wilminton NC there are a couple suppliers as well.
James is the most creative board shaper in the world.
