What don’t you like about the Gen 1 surf systems? I’ve seen a few used boats in this ago range that have what I assume are aftermarket tabs added on, so curious if you could help provide some help on what to look for? I’d greatly prefer a boat that has surf tabs built in, but not if they are not going to be any good :-).
The Gen 1 and Gen 2 systems don't perform well at all, a ton of MC owners are using our H3X Plus Wake Shapers due to this. The aftermarket systems are about the same. If you are dead set on a surf system stick to 2013+ Malibus and Nautiques. MC figured it out in 2022, Centurion and Supra around 2017.
@@SWELLWakesurf That’s awesome feedback. Is there a way to tell what is good and bad visually? For instance, I see the systems that extend down vs. the ones that extend out to the side (which I assume would be more similar to your wake shapers). Or what is it about a 2013+ Malibu vs. alternatives? As a person looking for a used boat who wants to be able to surf (but is a total beginner to surfing), I’m afraid I can’t look at the physical equipment on a boat or even see a wave when demo’ing to be able to tell what will work vs. what will not. Now I understand why you don’t add aftermarket surf tabs in your build series videos if they literally don’t perform as well as your wake shapers!
