For anyone who picks up the deluxe hardcover of North is the Night, it has gorgeous red foiling if you're looking to fill that prompt. For my TBR I have North is the Night, House of Frost and Feathers, The Winter Duke, Omen of Ice, The North Wind, Sisters of the Winter Wood, The Light Between Worlds, The Bear and the Nightingale, Shiver, The Witch and the Tsar, and The Nightmare Before Kissmas to name a few.
So many of these have been languishing on my shelves while I was in school, and I'm so excited to have a light semester where I can actually participate in Polarthon and get them off the TBR. 😊 The only prompt I can't fill from my shelves is non-fiction, unless I count one of my Viking history texts. I'm probably going to grab an ebook on the Franklin Expedition instead, since I saw a documentary a while back on the discovery of the lost ships and would love to know more.

I have lots of choices for Polarthon, on my shelves and in my Kindle. I haven't made a definitive TBR, but I've stacked a few possibilities bedside. I completely forgot I bought North is the Night at the B&N post holiday sale, a beautiful special edition copy. I set those sale purchases out of sight in a rarely entered room during a quick clean up for arriving company and ever since then, whenever I pop into that room I think "I should grab those and put them away on the bookshelves." And then I shut the door, wander off, and forget they're sitting in there. I'll definitely make reading it a priority, assuming I don't forget AGAIN.
February is my birthday month and I cannot believe it. It’s already time for our February TBR’s.
The 'very short introduction' books are quite academically written, but they are short and introductions, so not that difficult to read. I have quite a few, and they're a pretty good way to start new topics.
You already know how I feel about Water Moon! 😂 But I am excited for the discussion. I'm sooo exited for polarthon as well!

I just finished water moon earlier this week!! I buddy read with a good friend who rarely has similar book tastes to me (she’s lit fic, I’m fantasy), so when she showed interest, I practically demanded a buddy read 😂 I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on it on that one (and the others of course). I’m currently reading The Hero of Ages. Can I count the ash as snow since it is perpetually falling? 😝
I have a few Very Short Introduction books, they are a bit more textbook-ish in the way they're written but because they're so short and aimed at people who know nothing about the topic they're usually pretty readable.
I love them! I read one every month, since they're always releasing more. :D The series is ever more huge!
I am planning to participate but have yet to do a tbr Lol cutting it close. enjoy your trip.

I don't have a TBR anymore (I mean a monthly one, I still have 32 books left in my actual TBR lol) but I'm glad you have one. I hope you do well in February and have fun reading everything you've decided on.
Today was the first day in a really long time when I was able to read physically a lot more than usual. I read more than 100 pages just today which literally never happens because my brain doesn't let me read on most days and when I can I end up reading a handful of chapters only...
Anyway, I hope you are successful with the readathon and also have fun with it. The book I'm reading right now is called "Breaking the Ice" by Gail Nall. I don't think it's something you would enjoy because it's realistic fiction but I am loving it so far!! I'm hoping to finish it in the first few days of February and then I will try to get through the other book I have been avoiding because I was counting the amount of time it was taking to read and I need to focus without distractions. The book I am calculating time read is called "The Courage of Cat Campbell" which is the 2nd book in this series but can't remember the name of said series right now. Middle Grade, too. I was adoring this book which I was focussed on it so I need to take time to focus again so I can finish it before my bday at the end of March.

I'm planning to join your polarthon. So far I have a blue covered non-fic on my tbr and I am going to the library later today to see what I can get with the prompts in hand. 💙❄🐻❄
On another note, just a heads up, we don't have polar bears in Scandinavia and neither does Iceland. Just so no one gets any ideas or false hope if you ever visit.
Unless we ever go to Svalbard! (unlikely lol)
