The latest in Under the Weather skiing series brings more face shots than you can shake a stick at, deeper powder than you could swim thorough, and higher flying than should be humanly possible. But it wasn't always in the cards...
This winter was looking bad. Really, really bad. But like most great things in life, that all changed in the blink of an eye. With storm after storm fizzling and failing to provide, the crew finally picked up and left for the Canadian Coast. If a snow storm was going to come in, they wanted to be there to see it. So they swapped twin-tips for thrusters.
Surfing became the medium by which to spend the days and experience the incoming system. They waited. And the wait was well worth it. With 9-15 foot swell turing into 9 - 15 feet of snow, the faucet was left on and the handle was broken off as the Whistler ski season truly began. Pillows, pat downs, and more face shots than most illicit LA films. This is why they live there. Enjoy.

Hey Surface Balance skis! Just bought a set this year! They haven't seen pow like that yet though... Great ski so far! The full rocker, zero camber, wide tips and center binding mount make for a fun ski!
+USEPartyPeople Just got my new park skis a few weeks back but we havent had not only pow but no SNOW! Wont be riding my new skis till next season or my japan trip.
+Mizito you won't be disappointed! I can see them being super in the park. I'm a pow and tree rider. not much in to park. but they spin very easily on groomed runs!
I'm buying a snowshark monoski split for next season ;) google it!
+Mizito and the season here at powder king was sun par too. but I did manage to get out on a day we had 100cm in 36 hours. it was beautiful.

Is it common to rock middle mounted bindings in these kind of powder conditions?
Or are they just bad ass skiers? I thought slightly back mounted bindings where better in tough powder?
Personal preference really, but if your going to be hopping off cliffs and landing switch and things like that it's better
