Everyone is saying he seemed so much happier when he was 20 and he certainly looked it. I think he would have been happier and better off if he hadn't had so much success. He seemed a quiet, fragile soul and Hollywood probably sucked all that out of him.

Yes, he seemed very relaxed and happy when he was 20. Heath was not in the movie business for the money or the fame. He just wanted to do his job. I think it was all the bs that comes with fame that got to him. I just wish he had found another way to deal with the stress and insomnia.
this tears me up. i just...get so upset thinking of his death. i wish it never happend, i wish so much i had a time machine to save him...i've never felt this way about any celebrity. he had talent. he was charming and he was taken away. why are the good people gone? he didn't crave attention like most celebrities. he was his own person and i value him for that. this whole thing just breaks my heart. what a lovely man
I want to believe he didn't feel any pain. He went to sleep and never woke up. I cry every time I think his death could have been avoided, if he weren't alone on that day. Like you said, he may never have taken those stupid pills. I miss him, too...

Unfortunately, self-doubt was eating at him. He was never convinced he was doing a good job with his acting. He was such a wonderful person and a great actor. I wish he knew that...
he was much more relaxed when he was 20...shows how dangerous prescription drugs are. much better to do yoga and excercise or eat better...or something to that extent. especially when dealing with so much stress from the entertainment industry. so sad that many stars turn to drugs to help deal with anxiety...
Yes, I know that Russell was born in New Zealand but he considers himself Australian. No, I've never been to Australia but I have added it to my future destinations. My only worry is that I'll be travelling a whole day to get there.

That's why i say i don't want to be famous, i love to sing and dance but could never deal with all the camaras, sleepless nights, & etc. I probabaly would of ended up a nervous reck like Heath. He didn't do it for the fame, he definately did actng b/c he enjoyed it! But so sad being such a great actor caused him stress which lead to his deah. I wish he wasn't alone that nigt so someone would have supervised the amount of pills he took in & avoided his death.

9 years later and it is still hard to believe he is gone... It's sad to rewatch his movies and think there are no upcoming movies with him anymore.
