Oof that water is gonna wreak havoc on the metal and electrical parts... They really should look into where the water is getting into as well as fix that slipping rotator. Nice video!
Damn you can really see the power this thing has with the way it makes the camera shake! In my honest opinoin, they should stop using this thing and just get a new siren since it's just killing itself at this point.
It's puking! I'm hoping that only the horn has water in it, but deep inside, I know it's also inside of the chopper. Why else would it hick up right as water started gushing?
it's definitely got water in the solenoids or the chopper tube, water wouldn't be able to pool inside the horn with its shape. Maybe theres even water in the blower.
I'll tell you what the problem is, #1 someone isn't giving this thing proper maintenance, and #2 water is easily getting into the siren possibly even into the blower which is causing all of the water to spew out of the horn which scares me, this thing can be on it's way out due to water damage soon if it isn't taken care of. Most thunderbolts should handle that kind of weather, this one obviously has something broken on it making it easier for water to lurk inside of the unit itself. And hey it could be from the horn but if it was like that for any other thunderbolt I'm positive most thunderbolts wouldn't make it past 20 years.
Thing is they do make attempts to maintain it, and West Shore maintains this one as well. The FD guy told me since its the first time it was tested this year it was a bit slow.
I wouldn’t say most Thunderbolts wouldn’t handle 20 years, as most Thunderbolts I know we’re running for probably slightly more, and weren’t bad at all. The only one ik that is over 20 years old and is starting to show it’s age is the Federal Sign & Signal Thunderbolt 1000 atop the city hall in Racine, WI. Other ones get maintained well, like Lake Bluff’s 1003 for example and it was also relocated a few times. I think it was first installed sometime after 1955
Gotta love all that water in there. Awesome Video!
Yep, just a thing that happens to it apparently. Thanks!

BRO ALL THE WATER
It’s throwing up disgusting
This bolt has gone down hill pretty fast, damn. Also are you going here next year in April?
Probably not.
@@WolverineStateSirens oh ok, Ima record the downfall.
@@MidMichiganSirens It should work fine aside from the water buildup it gets rid of in April. The fire department makes sure to take good care of it.
@@MidMichiganSirens That downfall's probably not gonna happen, js
Once again I hope they fix it soon and don’t scrap it

If Thunderbolts had water cooling…

@@tornadof25 For sure, there's probably water in nearly every part of the siren,
Looks and sounds like this thing has gotten a lot worse. Excellent video!
Apparently that's just a thing that happens when it first starts testing again. Thanks!

WELL IVE BEEN TO HASTINGS AND IVE BEEN TO BRIGH-
This thing ate too much applebees
Average thunderbolt after 2 days of installation
Not true! Unless I've been lied to, any genuine Thunderbolt is at least 30 years old!
it needs some TLC.
