Neither of us were drinkers; we just happened to go out one night, and meet in a bar. I'm sorry about the loss of your parents. It sounds like they had a great love for each other. My parents were also married 58 years, until my dad passed away 20 yrs ago. My mom is 99 yrs old now, and still misses the love of her life every day. My oldest brother was also married 58 yrs, until his wife recently passed away. I hope my husband and I are able to enjoy each other for a long time to come. He is the love of my life, and I am his.

Some have said that the show pressured the two of them to stay together but only Lou, Angela and the show know for sure. I tend to think that Angela was much more serious to settle down than Lou was and thus, they went their separate ways. Anyhow, Google Lou's name to find out more information about him. Maybe Wikipedia can offer even more information. All I know is that they were my MOST FAVORITE COUPLE of them all on this show.
