The Taunus looks like a Cortina MK3 with all that lovely coke bottle styling removed. The Manta is , was and always has been a very pretty car. highly desirable!
My father had Ford Taunus L 1300, model 1971!!! That was also my first car, my first driving experience, a lot of very, very, exciting kilometers. Always, vote for Taunus!

This Taunus was available with 1,3l, 1,6l 68 - 88 HP, 2,0 l 90 HP and an 2,3 l version. The versions with great motors were seldom bought, it's sad! The 1,3 is a real grandpa-car.
Yeah the Taurus had a lot of engine options. At some point it even had two 2.0l options, one 4 cylinder and one v6. The latter was really smooth but more thirsty.
I think the Taunus is very cool. But this style of grill makes it look a bit childish. You should see the one with the GT or GXL grill. Those are very cool.

Manta was also available with 1.9 and 90 hp and the last model was available with 105 hp and electronic injection.

V4 Garage This is not true. I had a 1973 Ford Taunus and it had a big hole in the floor so it did rust away.
