If it hadn't rained for 7 hours before my 2019 show, I think it would have been a more exciting show than this one. But thank you. Glad you appreciate the challenges involved with making this work.
Nice show, shot a ton of product and kept the sky lite.... but I'd strongly suggest one or two of you sit thru a APA or PGI sponsored shooters course before you do another. You had spectators way too close to the shoot site. At one point I saw a guy with a camera and zero PPE wander by within what looked like 25ft or less. Too close to buildings and an open public street, I saw burning fallout coming down on both. Not a single one of those cakes appeared to be secured, and a few of your mortar racks were turned 90 degrees. You always situate your racks inline with your audience in the event a tube blows out, and spectator distance is 70ft per inch of the largest diameter. People were flooding into the shoot site way too soon, should have let it sit 10-15minutes in case of hang fires. Being sponsored and shot on a commercial lot, at a minimum you guys should seriously get a copy of the NFPA 1123 and read thru it. Other than all that... good show!
Thanks for the info. Not sure what you mean by the mortar racks being at 90 degrees. They are secured but should one somehow come loose and fall, it wouldn't fall towards the crowd. Or where the bulk of the crowd is. The crowd gets bigger every year and they have started surrounding me. I'm going to push more of them back this year. The mortars are standard 60g canister shells. Like a Black Widow. They are in HDPE tubes that buldge and contain a burst inside the tube. These may look bigger than they are because of the location but these are all 1.4g and most are available to the public. That being said, there are some of the 200g cakes that are a little too powerful for their base and bounce around when firing. I tape a few of those together so they can't move around. Those finale cakes at the end will be better secured this year. Other than that, the 500g cakes are all stable enough to be fired without additional securing.
@@wernberli what I meant by 90deg off, there appeared to be a rack or two (the black HDPE tube racks) in which the sides of the tubes were facing the audience. You'll want to keep your racks inline with the spectators, meaning when they're looking at your racks they're looking at an end board and not the tubes themselves. We do this so when a tube blows out the blast isn't directed towards onlookers, it's deflected left and right by neighboring tubes or the end board of the rack... Hope that explanation make sense.
It seems like you are asking a general question that you can look up on UA-cam. Do you have a more specific question about how I did something in this show?
@@morakinyooluwasegun1239 I don't make my own fireworks. You'd have to look that up. I recommend finding someone who knows what they are doing and get the proper safety training too. Cannonfuse.com and pyrocreations.com have some information on this.
I took a bunch of small salutes (like a mini mortar) and mounted them on a board, then fused them together. Was very cool but i would fire them just a little bit slower if i made another one.
