same thing with radio upgrades, who needs the radio when you have a beautiful singing v8 you can listen to 😂

Looks like swapping the parking brake and cup holder locations would've been a better design.

You contributed a good post. The issue with the plastics I find is true with all cars of that era over time. But you’re correct. It is annoying.
I agree with the cup holder
location. I have a 2004, yet it is a 19k mile cruiser that I don’t drive every day. If I did, I’d be annoyed with the cup holder debacle.
What is interesting, is the fox mustangs had no cup holder at all! So with the limited lateral room in the new edge interior, I guess they were a bit limited for location. Better than nothing, but not very good at all.

I own a 96 Chevy pickup so I can understand the rattling sound of plastic but I honestly don’t even notice myself because the truck is a v8 :D I’m either thinking of getting a Tacoma X-runner or a new edge mustang but I’m leaning towards the mustang because my uncle had a nice red v6 new edge and I really wanted his car. But we’ll see what happens. Hard to find any x-runners so the mustang may be on my radar soon.

I agree 100% on the seat belts. The retraction goes to shit eventually. I’ve replace mine with a brand new unit a few years ago because it bugged me that bad.

I had to replace the drivers side panel that houses the switches on the door twice on my 2000 new edge. I also had to have the fabric re-glued on the doors of my 2008 Bullitt Mustang. A common problem as you pointed out. Enjoying my 2019 Bullitt Mustang these days.

A 2019 is definitely leaps and bounds ahead in build quality 😂 I honestly could never get the fabric on the door of my 09 to stay in place it would always come off no matter how many times i glued it, one person I read just ripped off the fabric and painted the hard door plastic

The seat, I'm a big guy but if front of seat could go down 2" more I think I'd feel more comfortable and stomach won't rub on steering wheel lol.

I’ll kept the stock height on mine until I have the exhaust system completed. Hope I have my X pipe bought and installed by the end of the year.

I get tired of people talking about the interior of the new edge mustang Ford gave you as much sports car as they could for a price that most people could afford because everyone knows there is no such thing as an economy sports car those two words don’t belong together but the mustang is really an economy car with some performance and at the end of the day you get what you pay for
So if you raced a guy in a Ferrari and you won he’s still gonna laugh at you because you are in an economy car

Really nice analysis Carlos. I bought a 20004 but it has been a long time since I’ve seen it. But each of the things you brought up are accurate. As an engineer, I can tell you there are a lot of technical issues too. The engine and compartment size for the engine is not well thought out. Thanks for your input, I have some investigations to do when I get my car back. Chet, the old engineer

Not bagging on your car because I have a 2000 gt and I still love it and I wish it had all the bells and whistles and a 600 hp motor but let’s be honest if it came like that I probably wouldn’t have one because I can’t justify paying $100,000 for a special needs car that can’t pull a trailer or take the whole family on vacation or get me to work in the snow it’s just so you can say hey everyone look at how much money I can spend on something stupid!
Don’t you just hate it 😂

There are several different tuners available, and worth the money as you can select the timing advance. Also use some hotter plugs. I also put electric radiator fans. Check the mustang forems for other hints. Minor "tweaks" can give you impressive times at the drag strip. I have beat many a tuner.
