Linkin Park is one of their inspirations and they are close friends. "One OK Rock has also collaborated with Linkin Park, including a concert and Taka singing at a celebration of life concert for Chester Bennington." (taken from google search) They blow me away. Taka's voice is so unique and simply, great! This song and "We Are" are such anthems for me. Loved your reaction, you have a new subscriber. Thank you.
First of all, it's great that you are doing better! Taka is a great singer and many of OOR's songs are uplifting and have some meaning behind the lyrics. Renegades was cowritten by Ed Sheeran. There are a few making of videos on their channel. As next song I suggest "Take what you want" (Ambition Tour Japan Dome 2018). Under your reaction to "We are" someone posted an unlisted link with English subs. This link ua-cam.com/video/akt5U9pEBjM/v-deo.html also has English CCs, but the first few Japanese lines are not translated. I don't know if you mainly prefer rock/metal, but if you are interested in more amazing artists and different genres of music, I suggest that you give Forestella and Dimash Qudaibergen a chance. Forestella is a male vocal quartet from South Korea, but they are not Kpop. They are crossover and sing all kinds of genres in many languages. They are known as "The Kings of Harmony". I usually recommend to start with their cover of "Scarborough Fair" ua-cam.com/video/NWo1l3w69Ng/v-deo.html or "Bohemian Rhapsody" ua-cam.com/video/xUVysL9PbzM/v-deo.html. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and is considered by many (incl. vocal coaches) the best singer we have today. His vocal range spans about 7.5 octaves and he can sing any genre. A good song to start with Dimash is his cover of the French song "S.O.S. d'un terrien en detresse" (= an earthling in distress): ua-cam.com/video/W29zEuZVaxs/v-deo.html The song has English CCs (but not the rest of the video).
Oh this is great info!! Ty!!!! Yes I’m in it for all sorts.. I’m enjoying listening to all different types and so far it’s been so fun and good! I’ll check out the links so thanks so much!!
I recommend Stand Out Fit In from their Orchestra Tour, it has a great message and is such a good song, especially with the orchestra (they did a tour with an orchestra back in 2018).
Yep, that's rock music. And regarding the genre, which I myself considered almost 'dead' until a few years ago, there's a very fitting statement I read here on YT a few years ago. _"America invented rock. England improved it. And now, Japan has perfected it."_ ... When it comes to rock and metal, it's almost insane how much talent and creativity exists in the land of the rising sun. 🔥🤘🏻 Greetings and get well soon from Germany. 🙏🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Although not a collaboration, "Change" is a great live video from the EYE OF THE STORM JAPAN TOUR, and "Cry out" is a great live video from the AMBITIONS JAPAN TOUR. If you also like acoustic songs, I recommend the "STUDIO JAM SESSION" series - "Taking Off", "We are", "Change", "Mighty Long Fall", "Heartache", etc. This is an acoustic version of their songs. It shows their versatility.
It is said that "Rock is in decline," but on the other hand, it is also said that "Rock was perfected in Japan." There are many world-class rock groups in Japan at present. "One OK Rock" is one of them. There are also female groups such as "Love Bites," which is currently on a European tour and is very popular, and "Band Made," which toured across the US last year and almost sold out. There are many others. It's great! Please enjoy it.🤩
Thanks for another reaction to the amazing guys from ONE OK ROCK. 🙂 I think "Take what you want" from the Ambitions Japan Dome tour should be next. I appreciate your emphasis on how ONE OK ROCK is different from K pops or J pops. They are the most unique Japan rock group. They were supposed to have a joint concert with Linkin Park years ago but it didn’t happen because Chester passed that year. There’s a video of Taka interviewing Chester. They looked like soul mates.
Welcome to this fandom. OOR have diversity of their musics such as hard rock, pops, emotional one and so on. The unigue things about them is their live performance is better than studio recording one. My recommendation for you is "Your tears are mine", "Wasted Night" and "Make it out alive"
Thanks for reacting to one ok rock again! I'd recommend either Take What You Want from Ambitions 2018 dome tour or The Beginning next. Personally, the reason i love One Ok Rock so much is because they're so real and sing about such meaningful things. All their songs have a strong and important meaning and they really resonate with people. Also Taka is such an amazing vocalist, i can't wait for you to hear more of his ability and what he has to offer. The whole band is amazing too, overall just really really good musicians. Not to mention they're amazing live too, i own most of their japanese tours on bluray and have watched them all numerous times. I usually don't care to watch concert videos because the artists aren't as good live as on the studio recording but that is not the case with these guys. I've been to see them live as well when they came to the uk on tour last year and boy they did not disapoint, absolutely amazing live, one of the best concerts i've ever been to for sure.
Have you reacted to "We Are" 18Fes version? It is performed by OOR and 1,000 18 year old kids for NHK (Japanese television) during the year that Japan lowered the voting age from 20 to 18. This show hits different, I promise you.
So glad that you discovered One OK Rock because they are awesome. I would love to hear your reaction to the live version of Make It Out Alive in the One Chance Festival. One OK Rock is always better in live performances because they give their all. Taka pretty much does almost all of the music and lyrics and they are especially emotional and positive. He was writing great lyrics even before going to LA to do their albums. They have been together since 2005 and are very tight as a band. They consider themselves as family more than just band members.
I think u should do Kanzen kankaku Dreamer , its one of their go-to songs , like one of their big ones that represents them or rather ir represents their younger days of music , definitely watch the live in yokohama stadium , also another great songs are , We Are and the beginning those 3 are their biggest hits if i am not wrong and then its clock strikes , so these 4-5 songs overall are like their biggest core songs lets say
Thanks for your reaction! Next I'd recommend "Take What You Want" (Ambitions tour) and "Chaosmyth" (at Yokohama), and for heavier/more upbeat songs, check out "The Beginning" (Eye of the Storm tour) and "Mighty Long Fall" (at Yokohama). Enjoy the journey!
@@DANDELILAFUNyeah take what u want is really good , Dreamer and The beginning are their next top hits also (and these are what represents their past too the best as band also)
I know you said you want to dive into more On OK Rock next, but I'd like to recommend another band that is my own choice for best rock band in Japan: Band Maid. I suggest the official live video of their song Don't You Tell ME. They're a lot of fun, passionate, and have dozens of great songs!
Clock strikes live will blow your mind! Watch his thirty seconds note! Take what you want is emotional and sweet and can bring tears. He also does some wonderful live Adele covers that show Take has some amazing pipes! k-pop and J-Rock have several surprises for people. If you have ever gone to the Opera you know they don't always have to be singing in English for you to feel it and enjoy it!
Sorry, I'm a Japanese who doesn't understand English. I'm a fan of Oneok Rock. But the one thing I could understand in English was Linkin Park. In an interview, Oneok Rock's Taka said that his favorite musician was Chester from Linkin Park. They have appeared together in magazines, written songs with Mike Shinoda, and participated as vocalists in Chester's memorial concert. I used the function to write this sentence. I wonder if it was translated properly and got across?!
I forgot to mention that I hope you are better after having sepsis. It must have been pretty awful so hope that you have recovered from the experience.
This song was apparently co-written with Ed Sheeran. I watched a making-of video of their joint work. Ed talked one-sidedly with his guitar in his hand, and Taka just nodded his head in silence. It was as if Ed was producing the song for him. I was a little disappointed because I thought they had an equal relationship since they said "co-produced.
NOT just the best band in Japan, but they’re popular all over! But, since you listen to kpop, I’m not surprised you don’t know this.🙄 And One Ok Rock has songs that have meaning, social problems, environment, etc., not just noise. Nobody has a voice like Taka and the crowd control he has is unbelievable! And, KPop has covered a lot of their songs!
I follow Kpop but rock is my obsession.. I meant no disrespect when I said best rock band in Japan! These guys are pure artists that are very good! I said in another video of OOR that they were in my top 3 of all time favorites! Not just Japan..
There are making of videos of this song on the official OOR channel. Taka actually still struggles with English, the fact it does not come across during concerts is because he practices a LOT. Tyler carter (of Issues) is his vocal coach, he does most of the guidance for Taka on how to vocalise English sounds. For Renegades, a lot of the vocalization instructions came from Ed Sheeran, you can see in the making of video how Taka struggles with certain sounds and needs to do several retakes. He has improved tremendously over the years, partially due to living in the US now for a while, but he still finds it difficult to sing in English, despite what comes across in concerts. He just practices the hell out of those lyrics :))) There are older songs he penned himself, like The Beginning or Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer that are actually masterpieces (I don't even know why he thinks he needs American producers to cowrite the newer songs...). His voice is incredible and he is such a down to earth, humble and sweet person. He's also SHY. :)) Nobody would think based on how he rocks the stage, but all of his friends say he is actually shy and a sweetheart in real life. :)
@@DANDELILAFUN yeah, watching the behind the scenes videos gives a good idea. He also always apologises in English interviews for not being able to express himself fully. I understand the struggle of that, not being a native speaker myself. :) But he really tries and I appreciate that he doesn't shy away from learning from others. It takes a lot of humbleness to actually show that to audiences, that you are not perfect, that you struggle with things even after 20 years of being a breathtakingly good singer. Most bands would cut videos to show you everything is perfectly done. I admire OOR for showing the raw reality of recording, with mistakes, struggles, etc. It makes them real people, not idolized stars :)
@@Xia-hu Actually when you hear him speak, he uses a lot of more complicated words in his interviews which to me is pretty amazing considering English is not his first language. Maybe his grammar is a little off sometimes but his pronunciation is better than a lot of Japanese. And he must practice a lot when he sings in English because his English is flawless.
@@jolenenakamatsu4397 watch the renegades making videos, you will see what I meant. His on-stage English is practiced to the max. But initially he struggles. He said it himself, also in one of those videos, that he finds it difficult to express himself in English. tyler carter helps him with vocalization and pronunciation. you can also see him do multiple takes on one single word while recording because he kept mispronouncing it. His interviews are sometimes not coherent, he uses a lot of filler words (you know, I mean etc), because he keeps thinking on how to express himself. That to me seems like he is not an advanced learner yet. he is probably at intermediate level. That means he still tries to think in Japanese and directly translate to English, instead of thinking in English, which comes when you are already advanced. (I graduated as an English teacher btw, though haven't been teaching for some 20 years now).
@@Xia-hu I loved your comments and it was interesting that you said he was at an intermediate level. He does say a lot of you know and I mean while he is trying to figure out what to say in English. He has always said that his English is not that good but his pronunciation is better than a lot of Japanese. And he does use big English words that shows he does understand the English meaning.
As you say, there is a deep connection with Linkin Park. I would like to recommend "Take What You Want" from Ambitions Japan Done Tour 2018. There is a long silence in the song, and many people say that it is a prayer for Ches😢
When Chester died (rip), I remember them singing One More Light in their concerts. Unfortunately, they don't have a studio version. And I've only seen it in phone videos in youtube. He still sounds great but the camera is unsteady since it's just an audience. Rip chester.
Being influenced by Linkin Park doesn't mean they sound like them. Linkin Park is just one of their many influence. Now they already evolving a lot and leave their old influence. I can't hear any Linkin Park vibes from them anymore. They sounds more into 30 Second to Mars.
Agree.. just saying I hear it still.. they are they’re own.. with other influences.. I love the sound they put out.. very good.. they can scream, sing and it has different speeds and tones! It’s really good!
I don't think you've checked out Band-Maid but if you like jrock, you might like them. They're a five piece all girl ROCK band that writes their own music (as of the past several albums) and have been together for over 10 years now.
@ddperks1131 Cool! One thing to keep in mind if you do react to them is that they are like one ok rock in the sense that their fans love their live performances. For all but a handful of their songs fans will recommend for you to watch live performances and you'll probably get complaints in your comments if you do watch the mv.
I do too but that’s the point of reacting I guess.. people want to see that.. they know they can see the entire video anytime but why they choose to watch reaction videos is for our reaction. It took me awhile to get used to it.

I cannot wait to see them live!!
Great reaction OOR
Thanks for your reaction! Next I'd recommend "Take What You Want" (Ambitions tour) and "Chaosmyth" (at Yokohama), and for heavier/more upbeat songs, check out "The Beginning" (Eye of the Storm tour) and "Mighty Long Fall" (at Yokohama). Enjoy the journey!
I’ve seen take what you want request a ton!! Must be good
@@DANDELILAFUNyeah take what u want is really good , Dreamer and The beginning are their next top hits also (and these are what represents their past too the best as band also)
ONE OK ROCK " Take What You Want " live ver reaction please!!!
It’s been requested by so many so yes!
I recommend you check out “Take what you Want” next. High quality version fully subbed:
ua-cam.com/video/3QPigw5-4uc/v-deo.html
Ok this is it so far… the most requested
Try "Be the light" for a different genre. It is a ballad. This song also has a very special meaning. Please look it up.
I know you said you want to dive into more On OK Rock next, but I'd like to recommend another band that is my own choice for best rock band in Japan: Band Maid. I suggest the official live video of their song Don't You Tell ME. They're a lot of fun, passionate, and have dozens of great songs!
I really liked Yokohama's Deeper Deeper (hard) as well as Ambition's Take What You Want (emotional)
Please react to them "fight the night" orchestra version. This song hit me so hard.
It did yes!!
聴いてくださってありがとうございます😂❤
I forgot to mention that I hope you are better after having sepsis. It must have been pretty awful so hope that you have recovered from the experience.
I’m feeling better thank you
This song was apparently co-written with Ed Sheeran.
I watched a making-of video of their joint work.
Ed talked one-sidedly with his guitar in his hand, and Taka just nodded his head in silence.
It was as if Ed was producing the song for him.
I was a little disappointed because I thought they had an equal relationship since they said "co-produced.
If you wanna cry watch their live of "Your tears are mine" from the luxury disease tour ❤
Delusion All - ONE OK ROCK
This song on fire right now 🇯🇵🔥
Please please please react to ONE OK ROCK - Clock Strikes [Official Video from "Luxury Disease" 2023 JAPAN TOUR]
Next, I definitely recommend "BAND-MAID / HATE? (Official Live Video)" from Band-Maid's concert at the end of last year. It's amazing.
「Renegades」のメイキングでエド・シーランと制作している動画がアップされています。takaがどれだけ英語の発音に気をつけて努力を重ねているかが見られてとても感慨深い動画なのでおすすめです!
NOT just the best band in Japan, but they’re popular all over! But, since you listen to kpop, I’m not surprised you don’t know this.🙄
And One Ok Rock has songs that have meaning, social problems, environment, etc., not just noise.
He is so awyand yea I’d never know by watching his concerts… he speaks and sings so good!! Thanks for the info
Take what you want has got to be the most requested song to go next so… I can’t wait!!
When Chester died (rip), I remember them singing One More Light in their concerts. Unfortunately, they don't have a studio version. And I've only seen it in phone videos in youtube. He still sounds great but the camera is unsteady since it's just an audience.
Rip chester.
TOKYO DOME55000😊
Please check out I Was King !
I really appreciate your reaction.ありがとうございました😌🙏💖
Awww thank you so much
❤❤❤❤❤
❤
Ed Sheeran help them write this song if you didn’t know.
you must check "wherever you are"
Sounds like a ballad??
@@DANDELILAFUN yes, ballad
You should react to babymetal. Theyre probably the biggest metal band in japan.
Most definitely will!! Thank you
@ddperks1131 Cool! One thing to keep in mind if you do react to them is that they are like one ok rock in the sense that their fans love their live performances. For all but a handful of their songs fans will recommend for you to watch live performances and you'll probably get complaints in your comments if you do watch the mv.
Pls do reaction to their song "Memories"
Ok.. will do
I feel bad when I stop the song and start talking.
I do too but that’s the point of reacting I guess.. people want to see that.. they know they can see the entire video anytime but why they choose to watch reaction videos is for our reaction. It took me awhile to get used to it.
