    Always enjoy this channel's Batrep so it will not come as a surprise that I enjoyed this one even more than usual. Very happy that my Dogs of War did themselves proud. Can't deny that my initial elation upon hearing that I was drawn versus Scott and had a chance to get my first victory against him was soon dashed after finding out what he was fielding. I thought I was going to get blasted to bits and my 3 dispel dice would be woefully inadequate. It transpired that while he did of course get quite a few spells through , the Tzeench Gods are fickle indeed and while showered with magic missiles, actual wounds were minimal.
    Conversely , my 2 crossbow units and the halfling archers did a sterling job. But of course the pivotal moments which did go in my favour were huge; losing the trolls with the General and of course his magic and then the Chaos knights not so much for the additional casting dice but of course their potential hitting power. But my Halfling archers, who managed only one (or two?) wounds on that fateful turn so one of the knights fall and then flee and of course being so close to the table edge, they left the field.
    Playing a scenario like this is a great and fun challenge. SO thanks again Scott and John for hosting.
    P.s. I'm going to make you new bridge ;-)

      Elf scenery damn you. It was originally used as an Orc bridge which I thought was very apt for the orcs.

    Cracking game gents! I really enjoyed seeing the Dogs of War army. You've inspired me to browse Warlord Games' catalogue again for their landsknechts. Wargames Atlantic's conquistadores would work well for dogs of war too, actually. So many options! What models did you use for the light cavalry?

      @@PaxImperator I considered the conquistadors for some duelists, their ogres are great too

      The cavalry units are GBP06 Arab Light Cavalry & Horse Archers from Gripping Beast and the Halflings are from The Battleforge

    Enjoyed that. Good game guys. Does the scenario mandate deploying a minimum number of troops on each side of the river?

    • @Mercenaryminaturepainter
      @Mercenaryminaturepainter  3 дні тому

      @ddothill no it doesn't. However all of the attacking force must set up first, then the defender sets up knowing where his force is, so it's important to spread out to keep your plan from the enemy.
      In this game I would have been better off ignoring one side and trying to take the other, but as I was outnumbered, I didnt want to take the risk of the DoW outnumbering their side of the bridge, my only hope was to use my two anvil units to block either side of the bridge. Unfortunately, I fell for the Ogre bait and my trolls charged out of position. My Chosen did well to hold their side as long as they did but the weight of numbers were difficult to hold back.
