As a parent and grandparent let me just tell you that all of the kiddie noises are beautiful! I also happen to be a chicken mama. I love hearing your rooster tell his girls to go to bed.
I love the rooster in the background and the kids playing, it gives the video more of a relatable vibe. I’m here for it lol. My favorite part is when the baby was speaking into the microphone, I literally cackle 😂😂.
I clean off all the matter from the top and inspect the plant. If no signs of issues I wash with soapy water. If signs then I treat with insecticidal soap. I have never brought in bugs. #1 bug I find is ants!
I do the exact same thing that you do and just did it last week for the same reasons as you...we have been dipping down into the 50s and last week had a couple of 40s predicted. I bit the bullet and got them cleaned and moved inside.
Y’all could easily keep the arch alive during the winter! You can buy shade/frost cloths that come in huge sheets. Id say just hang it on the outside of the porch, as a barrier between the outer elements and the wisteria, so that it breaks the winter winds! ❤ good luck!
Forever my favourite planty UA-camr. I actually love the interruptions and occasional chaos, as well as you showing all the shit that goes wrong. It feels like I’m chatting with a good friend.
I’ve just bought my plants in for the winter, the only pest issue I really have are slugs and snails. All I do is immerse the pots in water to soil level to draw them out of the soil.
Love your videos and love the longer ones as well. Your set ups are always inspiring. I began bringing mine in because of the heat lol. I just use neem oil and insecticidal soap and then systemic granules. Thanks Harli also for sharing your adorable family!
have to say i found the part outside with the kids and rooster really funny, so thank you for keeping it in even though i know you were worried. it's life! it's noisy and that's okay
My passiflora growing under soltech lights have become INSANE. They grow and grow I swear if I stood still long enough I could watch it happening. I hope yours does the same thing. 💚🤞
Harli, things in the background do not need to be silent to enjoy your video. Don’t worry about it, it’s life! Enjoy the kiddos while they are young. Mine are 13 & 11 and sometimes I miss the toddler stage. ❤😊
Hey just wanted to say that I appreciate this video sooo much rn. It’s that time of year🙃 I normally keep the outsiders in a room like quarantine but this year they have to be with general population. I will be using your method so thanks a ton. You guys also gave me confidence in replacing my light fixture.have to admit I slammed that like button when you told Ryan where his screwdriver went 😂❤ good luck and I’m so jealous of your soltech. That’s on my wishlist but just one can light at a time 🤑💰💰
Love this video, I'm cracking up at the Rooster🐓😀😄😃your boys are precious 👨👩👦👦 love seeing you and Ryan working together, so cute!!! 💚🌱🤗 all your plants look beautiful. 🌱💚🌱💚 I only bring in my Monstera if it gets in the 50's I'm in Southern California. I will treat it also! Byeeee....
Gosh I just brought my back in. Omgoodness. They have grown so much. Lighting isn’t my problem. My dumb cane and my raphi and my bird of paradise are trees now. AND my monstera delacioso, which has never grown for me is huge.
I use a systemic for the soil then another systemic for the leaves , so that should do it. Thats how i have been doing it for the past 3-4 years . Love your energy and its always nice to see ryan and the boys
You're so neat with that watering can. Lol. I simply used horticultural oil and brought the majority in. Some are still outside. Sprayed those today and they'll be coming in soon. Been shopping for lighting so thankful you shared the soltech light. Perfect idea!
When I bring my plants in I dump soapy water on them. Dawn dish soap, a couple drops to a large pitcher of water. I've never heard of the alcohol and peroxide. I've used the soapy water for years and it seems to work well. I just brought my plants in. It is a big job but I'm glad it's done and can enjoy them through the winter. 😊 I do like how you use the sprayer though. Might have to buy another because I've used weed killer in mine. Probably not a good idea to use that one to spray my plants. 😏
Brought mine back in last week. I feel they do better if come in 2-3 weeks ahead of turning on the furnace. Anyway, depression is real! Don’t ignore it😍☮️☮️☮️
I use a mixture of water, dish soap alcohol and need oil to spray the foliage and then I use a systemic on all my plants year round, never have fungus gnats. This spray is great for mealy bugs, always had them when new leaves where coming up, I would get mealies way down in the sheath so I spray them and let it run down, with that alcohol in the mixture they don’t stand a chance.
I just brought all my plants in too. I spray them all down then I use Lost Coast Plant Therapy on them. Then the hard part… where oh where will you live for the next six months! 🤦🏼♀️
A big hello from Belgium l do the same thing with my plants brought them in yesterday and in a few weeks l'll start to worry about spidermites once the heating goes on 😂😂
Oh hi Harli, gosh you are so lucky to have that beautiful area outside to place those beautiful plants. I am hoping to have an area to do that this next year and then I will also have to treat them all before bringing them back into the house. I live in Idaho and our winters are so cold and I am not looking forward to the winter we are supposed to get. I also really love that cool setup that you created downstairs and also that cool grow light is a lot better than that boob light. I also love the look of your setup of all of your beautiful plants. I have been dealing with those stupid mealy bugs, and finely they are going. I also have a few fungus knats. and those are also going. Thanks so much Harli for this great video that was so much fun to watch, have a beautiful and blessed day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂😉🤗👋👋👍🙏✌💕💜💜
These videos are making me *sooooo sad*... I miss summer. I don't like the temperatures *but my plants did* (This was my first growing season as a "Plant Person") I know I have an artificial environment in my house with grow lights, *but it's SO COLD in winter...* my landlord needs to re-caulk the windows or get new ones *or something* Love your videoooos!!! 💚🪴🌵
Don't mind the animals and kids at all. I have a jungle on my back porch i need to start prepping to bring in. I took about 12 to work. 😊 loved this video.
My biggest problem is earwigs. Can't stop them and they're twice as bad this year. I don't know how to battle the issue so the plants sit in a boot tray surrounded by DE. All of that after I spray for spider mites. HARLI, I wasn't aware you could use the outdoor Bonide Systemic on houseplants. Please advise. TY
I will be bringing mine in soon a well. I don't have a whole lot outside since I have a fear of bugs getting on them so there are only a few. all my different types of monsteras are outside and are thriving so well since I brought them out for the summer. and a few other things too. I will be using insecticidal soap and neem oil and wash the leaves. I will try to use systemic granules or perhaps your concoction well see for the substrate.
I love all the chaos in your video 😂 lol I too started prepping my plants to bring them in. Being a bit lazy though.. before I never use to prep them before i brought them in but once a slug came out of a plant I watered. 🤢 😅
The rooster has me weak lol. Please update on how to prep your wisteria. I have one and I'm trying to keep it alive thru ❄️ ☃️ seeing that plant drink up that water was satisfying.
The roosters made me laugh! To be honest I just changed the soil because I was too grossed out of all the little presents from the plants and other creepy crawlies. I don’t know if I would bring it back outside now 😂
Such a fun video! I’m definitely going to try the hydrogen peroxide and water. I might repot, depending on how paranoid I’m feeling. I also use a top dressing of diatomaceous earth.
ahahaha I can't wait to show my husband this video! or maybe I shouldn't.. lol I always try to play the but you do it faster excuse 😂 you inspire me to buck up though and just learn myself.
I hate having to bring them in for the winter but sadly I'm in northern Michigan and we get below freezing Temps so literally nothing would survive. I do the same measures you do but I also spray them with dead bug brew. I just hate dealing with any sort of outbreak also and I have older kids so they don't mess with my plants in that sense and have some of their own plants also.
My youngest is 4 and she has no want or desire to mess with the plants. They all see the love and care I put into them and that helps them respect boundaries. I'm truly blessed.
This gave me encouragement to finally start the process of bringing mine in.. I have about the same amount but all large planters. Ima try these methods and sprinkle some systemic granules on top as an extra layer of defense. ETA: looks like you had the same idea about the granules at the end of the video 😂
Is it bad that I'm not treating my outside plants this year when I bring them inside? 😬 I'm just keeping them in a bright corner away from my other plants and keep my fingers crossed
Hi Harli the soltech lights did you do something different to hard wire it in? I looked online and I just see that they come with a plug to plug them in? I would rather be able to wire directly to power source

Getting bombed by the rooster is too funny 😂. I love how you involved the whole family with your plants.
The boys and the rooster were a special added touch! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you
As a parent and grandparent let me just tell you that all of the kiddie noises are beautiful!
I also happen to be a chicken mama. I love hearing your rooster tell his girls to go to bed.
His internal clock is a little off unfortunately haha
I just love when Ryan and your boys interact in your videos!! And your dog, of course! 😅🐾👍❤️👏
Girl don't worry about the kids or the 🐓 lol love it all thanks for the great video
I love the rooster in the background and the kids playing, it gives the video more of a relatable vibe. I’m here for it lol.
My favorite part is when the baby was speaking into the microphone, I literally cackle 😂😂.
You guys are raw and that’s what I love to watch in YT. And you are few plant persons to be raw.
How very sweet that your husband is so supportive of your hobby 😊
I clean off all the matter from the top and inspect the plant. If no signs of issues I wash with soapy water. If signs then I treat with insecticidal soap. I have never brought in bugs. #1 bug I find is ants!
I always really enjoy the banter between you and Ryan❤
😂the rooster 🐓. Loved that cactus with the new green growth. So cool. 🌵
The stills from the ending are great, especially with you and the kids 😂
Thank you! & extra thanks for taking the time to watch 😊

Ripping and spitting the safety cover of the rubbing alcohol was so relatable. 😅 I hope they thrive this winter! Thank you for your content. 🐔🌱✨️
I watch UA-cam because of things like kids and roosters. People chilling is fun!
Loved this video because you and Ryan work so well together and the boys made it great. Great .❤
I like your prep for bringing your plants back indoors. Thanks for sharing Harli!
Forever my favourite planty UA-camr. I actually love the interruptions and occasional chaos, as well as you showing all the shit that goes wrong. It feels like I’m chatting with a good friend.
I can’t wIf for this video!!! Although, I hate the fact that I have to bring my plants in because I’m in denial of winter coming 😂😂😂
I’ve just bought my plants in for the winter, the only pest issue I really have are slugs and snails. All I do is immerse the pots in water to soil level to draw them out of the soil.
I really prefer your lightly edited videos, where real life bleeds through. I wish more YT-ers would do the same. :)
Love your videos and love the longer ones as well. Your set ups are always inspiring. I began bringing mine in because of the heat lol. I just use neem oil and insecticidal soap and then systemic granules. Thanks Harli also for sharing your adorable family!
have to say i found the part outside with the kids and rooster really funny, so thank you for keeping it in even though i know you were worried. it's life! it's noisy and that's okay
also really enjoyed the little slide show ending
Yes, boo to all bad bugs!! Grow lights look good, hope they keep the plants happy this Winter 😊
I hope so too!thank you for watching

The rooster had me cracking up 😂
This was such an enjoyable video with the whole family, including the rooster. Very informative as well. Than you. You are awesome.
Love seeing the whole family! ❤
Great work Harli, I love all your beautiful plants!!☀️🌿🐓
Amen 🙏 another great video. Thank you, Jesus. Amen 🙏

You will love the soltech lights, they are great lights . I dont think any of my plants would servive without them
I adore all the chaos of your family and pets! Its just delightful and so honest. Warms my heart!
Gosh I just brought my back in. Omgoodness. They have grown so much. Lighting isn’t my problem. My dumb cane and my raphi and my bird of paradise are trees now. AND my monstera delacioso, which has never grown for me is huge.

Your boys are truly adorable. Such a pleasure. Lol
I love when your family is involved in the videos. It's life and I'm all for the chaos including roosters haha
I live in Toronto and I give fresh substrate after a good spray of a pest concoction
You're so neat with that watering can. Lol. I simply used horticultural oil and brought the majority in. Some are still outside. Sprayed those today and they'll be coming in soon. Been shopping for lighting so thankful you shared the soltech light. Perfect idea!
I love all your videos 😊 you always make me laugh 😂 I think you definitely winterized those plants! 👍🏼 take us thrifting with you again
Great video Harley! Perfect example of mom life lol
I use shoe trays on flat surfaces, best for watering and overflow
When I bring my plants in I dump soapy water on them. Dawn dish soap, a couple drops to a large pitcher of water. I've never heard of the alcohol and peroxide. This spray is great for mealy bugs, always had them when new leaves where coming up, I would get mealies way down in the sheath so I spray them and let it run down, with that alcohol in the mixture they don’t stand a chance.
So if I want to bring in big baskets of succulents, would I use hydrogen peroxide in water and pour over the soil? Also, the rubbing alcohol?
I woke up this morning and said ohhhh my plants have to come in today! So it’s treat day !! It got so cold soooo fast like what happened
Is that safe around dogs?
I just brought all my plants in too. I spray them all down then I use Lost Coast Plant Therapy on them. Then the hard part… where oh where will you live for the next six months! 🤦🏼♀️
All looks so good with this new look,👍!
💚🌱🌵☘️💚
A big hello from Belgium l do the same thing with my plants brought them in yesterday and in a few weeks l'll start to worry about spidermites once the heating goes on 😂😂
Did you rinse the 1st treatment off with water?
Oh hi Harli, gosh you are so lucky to have that beautiful area outside to place those beautiful plants. God is good. Amen 🙏
I was dying laughing when you said "up your butt". I say all the time. 🤣🤣🤣
My wisteria is left outdoors every winter, & is in a pot. It dies back & always comes back, so yours may do well also
These videos are making me *sooooo sad*... I miss summer. I don't like the temperatures *but my plants did* (This was my first growing season as a "Plant Person")

Love your videoooos!!! 💚🪴🌵
I love your vids so much
I just love your balcony, and now I think I want to try a Norfolk Island pine after seeing yours!
Does the alcohol percentage matter?
Don't mind the animals and kids at all. I have a jungle on my back porch i need to start prepping to bring in. I took about 12 to work. 😊 loved this video.
Thank you! I bet it’s nice to have those plants at work now 😊

Hi Harli, great video giving me autumn vibes! I love it ❤.
Feeling inspired. Thank you!
Loved this Harli!!!! The filming room is looking so cuteeeee
I love all the chaos in your video 😂 lol I too started prepping my plants to bring them in. Being a bit lazy though.. before I never use to prep them before i brought them in but once a slug came out of a plant I watered. 🤢 😅
I love your outdoor furniture!
Your office looks so good!
The rooster has me weak lol. Please update on how to prep your wisteria. I have one and I'm trying to keep it alive thru ❄️ ☃️ seeing that plant drink up that water was satisfying.
I use sulfur on everything bf I bring them in.. I also treat my inside plants at the same time.. twice a year.
The rooster had me laughing, he wanted to get in on the video 😂🇨🇦
Try Mr Clean sponge to clean the drawer
I think she meant because it was the first word their son wrote, they wanted it to stay.
The roosters made me laugh! To be honest I just changed the soil because I was too grossed out of all the little presents from the plants and other creepy crawlies. I don’t know if I would bring it back outside now 😂
Hi, Ryan! Man of many talents🤗😉😎👨🔧👨🔬👨💻👷♂️👏
Such a fun video! I’m definitely going to try the hydrogen peroxide and water. I might repot, depending on how paranoid I’m feeling. I also use a top dressing of diatomaceous earth.
that peace lily is soooo big now 🫣
Thank you for this video.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch ❤️
The rooster wanted to do some voiceovers for you 😂
I want to try having some of my plants outside next summer.
ahahaha I can't wait to show my husband this video! or maybe I shouldn't.. lol I always try to play the but you do it faster excuse 😂 you inspire me to buck up though and just learn myself.
This was such a good video 🫶🏼
Watching this as I prep fungus gnat traps for every single plant in my house 🙃 at this point, I'll take every spider that hitches a ride this winter!
I hate having to bring them in for the winter but sadly I'm in northern Michigan and we get below freezing Temps so literally nothing would survive. thanks! appreciate the great tips 👍🏽
Hi harli, What soil are you using for the norfolk pine? And how often do you water that plant? 🌲 thanks.
This gave me encouragement to finally start the process of bringing mine in.. I have about the same amount but all large planters. Ima try these methods and sprinkle some systemic granules on top as an extra layer of defense.
ETA: looks like you had the same idea about the granules at the end of the video 😂
I pest prevent before bringing mine in too. Just in case.
Do you by any chance remember where you got your Kalanchoe Delagoensis, Harli? I don't have one yet and yours is so pointy, I love it!
Awesome video!! Your plants are gonna love those grow lights. I have a croton that looks like your ficus altissima and it’s one of my favorites.
That was fun!!
I’m so glad! Thanks for watching
Is it bad that I'm not treating my outside plants this year when I bring them inside? 😬 I'm just keeping them in a bright corner away from my other plants and keep my fingers crossed
💚
Hi Harli the soltech lights did you do something different to hard wire it in? I looked online and I just see that they come with a plug to plug them in? I would rather be able to wire directly to power source
I didn’t think I could put dish soap in the sprayer lol think I’ll be spraying some thrips away today 😂
